Would you ever marry a guy the same height as you

I wanted to know if most women would ever consider this. What is the minimum you would settle for? How many inches taller does he have to be?

Hmm

Plenty of women marry men shorter than them...

My exh was inches taller than me. My dp is 1 inch taller than me. I would date a man shorter than me. Typically I don't like men who are taller than about 5'11"

It's a non issue

GaraMedouar · 30/05/2018 02:10

No - but then only Danny de Vito would be shorter than me! About 5 ft 6 would be my minimum

Emily7708 · 30/05/2018 02:15

Personally no, but I’m only 5ft and there aren’t many men shorter than me anyway. DH is 6ft and that’s just the right height for me.

Winchester13 · 30/05/2018 02:17

Me and my partner are the same height (5 foot7) and it doesn’t bother me at all!

helacells · 30/05/2018 02:33

Nope never in a million years

CluelessMummy · 30/05/2018 02:42

I did! I'm quite tall myself (5'10") and in an ideal world he'd be a little taller than me as that's just my "type", but there was no way I was going to not date someone who was clearly the right person for me based on the difference of a few centimetres. I find that attitude a bit foolhardy, tbh.

TheSituation · 30/05/2018 02:47

I'm 5"7, my ex is 5"9. I prefer much taller men, dunno what I saw in him Hmm

NotTheFordType · 30/05/2018 03:24

Women who won't date short(er) men are shallow as fuck IMO.

QuantumPixies · 30/05/2018 03:29

Yes. That’s it

Copperbonnet · 30/05/2018 03:29

What a strange post!

I married the man I fell in love with, his height was irrelevant.

I have several friends who are married to men who are around the same height as them and two friends whose DH’s are slightly shorter.

Why on earth would it matter?

Adversecamber22 · 30/05/2018 03:46

I just never fancied any short men, I have no specific reason but I think historically taller men are seen as being more desirable possibly evolution at play. There have also been studies that height correlates to success for men.

DS is 6ft 4, DS and has a lot of girls asking him out.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 30/05/2018 04:13

If I'd fallen in love with a man the same height as me then of course. I'm only 5'5" though so most men are taller than me.

However, when I think about It, every boyfriend I've ever had has been at least 5'11" and all but one have had dark hair. I'm not sure if that's just coincidence or if that's my "type". DH is 6'1" with dark hair but that's not why I married him!

LellyMcKelly · 30/05/2018 05:24

Is this a joke? Of course I would. It wouldn’t bother me in the slightest. A man’s height (or woman’s for that matter) is probably the least important thing about them.

WatermelonGlitter · 30/05/2018 05:31

I'd marry the guy I loved. His height would be irrelevant. Really, if you are going to worry about that as a criteria for a successful marriage you aren't going to make it through the hard times.

Luglio · 30/05/2018 05:32

Would. Did.
Couldn't be happier. I've never felt the need to be the ickle woman.

Terfing · 30/05/2018 05:39

I'm 5"6 and I've dated men both taller and shorter than me. It didn't bother me in the slightest. I was interested in their personality and how they treated me. Smile

Monty27 · 30/05/2018 05:42

I suppose it depends whether you want to wear high heels or whether you love him.

numbmum83 · 30/05/2018 05:49

I've been obsessed with dating tall men most of my dating life . I was single for 4 years until recently and I've ended up back with my ex who is 5ft 8 maybe , I'm 5ft 6 . Short men have always been a no go for me and friends can't believe I'm seeing him again because of how obsessed I am but I like the person behind his height.

My 14 yr old ds is already quite tall at about 5ft 10/11 so he will probably be 6ft at least and I'm so glad because I know how hard it is for short men .

Wallywobbles · 30/05/2018 05:53

My DH is gold and is 1.5cm taller than me. Wouldn't love him more if he was any taller. It's him I love not his height.

Seriousquestion09 · 30/05/2018 05:56

I’m 5’7 and need at least 6’2-6’4

Devilishpyjamas · 30/05/2018 05:59

Eh? This made me laugh out loud. Why would it be an issue?

PlumsGalore · 30/05/2018 06:03

It's not surprising there are so many singletons out there really is it? I despair sometimes of the shallowness of some people.

What next, would you date a man who didn't model and have a degree in neuroscience with an income Of over 100k?

mrbob · 30/05/2018 06:05

Wtf? And I am told I am single becuse I am too fussy?!

n0ne · 30/05/2018 06:07

I actually have a thing for small men. My first H was only 5' 6" (which is taller than me but still short). DH is actually relatively tall but that's irrelevant to why I dated him. Obviously Hmm

Pandora79 · 30/05/2018 06:12

I generally go for taller men. But exdh (married for 15 years) was slightly shorter than me. I loved him. Even though he wasn't my usual 'type'.

My current boyfriend is 6ft 4in. Honestly, I don't know if I would date someone the same height or shorter, again. As much as I loved with, I lost any attraction to him that I had a long time before we split. I wouldn't be with some that I didn't fancy again.
