What age were you married?

I'm struggling to process a few comments made of late regarding my (lack of) marriage/proposal.

First my mom tells me "people are always coming up to me and asking why isn't your "lovely" daughter married yet?!"

Secondly of 17 working women I am solely the only one not married or even been engaged, 3 are divorced, one a widow but at least they've had a bite of the cherry.

I'm 33.
Work full time own house and car.
Ok looking and frightfully honest.

At what age did people on here meet people or get engaged/wed?

My confidence is fractured so please be gentle 😔

Met at 27. Was 3 months married by the time my daughter arrived on my 29th birthday

DH and I were 17 and 18 respectively when we met and 23 and 24 when we got married.

We're 35 and 36 now and most of our friends have only settled down and had children in the last couple of years.

I was 20! I'm now 25 and some people are still horrified at how young I am to be married so there's no winning a lot of the time.

I met my husband at 18, we got married when I was 29.

First time 23 and second time 33.

Met at 19, got married at 25

I was 29 when I got married (6 weeks before my 30th) it wasn’t planned that way it was the way it worked out, we were engaged for 2 years and met when we were 23/24.

I don’t think you have to worry, 33 is still young. My friend met his now wife when he was 34. It happens when your ready for it.

I met my DH when I was 21/22 and married when I was 27.

Met at 17, married at 23, divorced at 44.

Met at 26, he was 31. Married and bought first house at 29 and 35. DD came along when we were 32 and 37.

Not married but have dp who I jointly own our house with and have just had dd. We constantly get asked why we aren't married we've been together 5 years I'm 26.

Everyone is different there are no rules.

Met at 24, got married at 28. I'm the same age as you and in my group of friends it's pretty evenly split between married and single.

For me we met at 15. Engaged at 23. Married at 25. Sister is 37 not married, parents have never questioned it

Everyone is different OP. I NEVER imagineg being married at 21 but fell in love with an amazing man who almost 2 years down the line treats me like his queen. Very grateful for that.

Met when I was 26, him 23 - got together 27 and 24, married at 33 and 30.

39 and 36 expecting DS2, DS1 is nearly 5.

I'm same age as you and married at 24. My peer group are only now getting engaged and married and some of those who married earlier like me are now divorcing. I'm happily married but age isn't really relevant in this.

I got married just as I turned 32. So only 1 year younger than you!
Plenty of time yet. I was the first one out of my group of friends to get married and have kids, and now I am 45 some are still having children!

If it's any consolation, of my 10 or so work colleagues there are 4 singles, 3 living with partners and not engaged, 3 of us married. The other 2 marrieds are in their 40s.

I say "yay you!" for having financial independence and your own home, those are big milestones.
