What age were you married?

I'm struggling to process a few comments made of late regarding my (lack of) marriage/proposal.

First my mom tells me "people are always coming up to me and asking why isn't your "lovely" daughter married yet?!"

Secondly of 17 working women I am solely the only one not married or even been engaged, 3 are divorced, one a widow but at least they've had a bite of the cherry.

I'm 33.
Work full time own house and car.
Ok looking and frightfully honest.

At what age did people on here meet people or get engaged/wed?

My confidence is fractured so please be gentle 😔

Most of the people I work with are 30-something and only a couple of them are married. Some are single, some have boyfriends/girlfriends and some are co-habiting. There's still plenty of time.

In answer to your original question, 27. And 42.

Met at 18yo. DH (to be) was 21yo. Married when I was 21 yo, DH was 23yo. Still happily together 30 years later.

DS1 at 23, DS2 at 25, DS3 at 32.

Met 22, married 27

Met 24, married 28, divorced 54!

Was happily reconciled with being eternally single as I had a great life, but then we met and married within six months. I was 35.

Met at 40 married at 48. First time married for me - second time for him (also 48). Don't worry about age...it will be right when you meet the right man...whenever he may turn up.

Met at 15, married at 23

20 and again at 30 Would say finding the right person is worthwhile.

Met DH at 26, married 10 days before my 29th birthday.

I did everything backwards and had DS1 with someone entirely unsuitable almost straight from Uni, then spent a year solo before meeting DH online (he was the first person I met in real life, if you were being harsh you'd perhaps say I settled, but I knew that he was it).

It happens when it happens. Looking back I had DCs far too early. I'd wait if I had my time again (though I love both DCs with all my heart and wouldn't change who they are). I'm a far, far better person in my thirties than I ever was in my twenties and wish I'd not rushed everything so much.

At 32. Married 16 years now

20, first baby at 23. Still married 13 years later.

Forgot to say, met at 24

I was married at 24, and you'd think that was a child bride from people's reactions sometimes. Now 33 and lots of friends my age are just settling down now.

Met at 24, married at 30

Met at 21, married at 24, then stupidly waited until 34 to have a baby. Wish we'd done that a lot earlier and had more children. Ah well, still happily married 17 years later so not all bad :)

Met DH when I was 21, we got married when I was 26.

Married at 18. Totally different for everyone. Have friends who have married at almost every age so I wouldn't give it another thought. Just enjoy everyday and you'll meet the person for you when the time is right.

Met at 22, married after 7 years. Both turning 40 soon. Kids at 23 and 28.

Met at 24, started dating at 25, married at 31, first child 2 weeks before I turned 33.

My friend was single until around your age, seven years later she's a married mother of 4!

I got married when I was 19. Still together 8 years later.

I was 38!! Dh was 40

Never married, although been in a committed relationship for 15 years. I'm in a work team of 7 - no one is married. Lots of friends not married, although some in long term relationships, kids etc. so not everyone gets married in y experience!

Dh is 8 months older than me.

Met when I was 18, got together at 19, engaged at 23, married at 24. Dc at 29, 31, 32. Married for 23 years. More unusually, we didn't move in together until after the wedding.
