What age were you married?

I'm struggling to process a few comments made of late regarding my (lack of) marriage/proposal.

First my mom tells me "people are always coming up to me and asking why isn't your "lovely" daughter married yet?!"

Secondly of 17 working women I am solely the only one not married or even been engaged, 3 are divorced, one a widow but at least they've had a bite of the cherry.

I'm 33.
Work full time own house and car.
Ok looking and frightfully honest.

At what age did people on here meet people or get engaged/wed?

My confidence is fractured so please be gentle 😔

Met at 34, married at 38. First dc at 39.

Met DH when I was 20, married at 22. Still together after 18 years.

Met at 26, but only married at 32. There was no rush! Still happily together 6 years later and first DC born last year. Some of my friends married younger, some older. There is no 'right' time

I was similar to you OP - single but with a decent job, car and was onto my second house purchase. Even my close family were starting to question my sexuality due to lack of men in my life but I was just choosy and would much rather be single than settle for a man who was not right for me. It all changed pretty quicky when I unexpectedly met DH and got married at 34. My peer group are largely the same TBH, I know very few couples who married before 30.

I was 16, with a 1 year old ds.

In January we will have been married 20 years, and we have 6 dc.

We met when i was 19. Married when I was 26

Met when I was 23 and married at 24

Met at school. Married at 19 whilst at uni. 35 now.

i met xp at 21, engaged at 22 split at 25. then met fiance at 27, just weeks before i turned 28, DD at 30, engaged at 30 and will be married just weeks after turning 31.

He was 17, I had just turned 18 when we met. Had Baby week before my 20th, lived together since. Got engaged at 21, Married at 26!

Met at 18, engaged at 19, bought a house at 21, married at 22, first baby at 25, second baby at 27.

Il be 33 when we get married next year

Met at 23, engagement at 33, married at 37.

OP, people are increasingly getting married at an older age.

But I do remember an office in my mid 20s where I was the only one without a boyfriend and it was very hard to be honest
Looking back it was a weird office and I know quite a few of those people didn't stay with their partners. Going back overb30 years now.

Met at 25, got married at 27. We got engaged in the May and married in the October. I hadn't really considered marriage much previously, but we experienced some tragic life events together which suddenly made it feel incredibly important.

Met at 17, moved in together at 19 and got married at 28. First child at 29 and second child at 31. We will be celebrating our 21st wedding anniversary next year. It's not always been easy but it is worth it.

I was in a kind of FWB relationship with an old uni boyfriend when i got a job abroad and met future Me elQuintoConyo on my second day in the job. I'd barely stepped foot off the plane!

The only person who ever asked me aboit getting married was my DGM who had had 9 dc.
DGM: do you think you'll ever get married?
Me: it's only been 8 years DGM, i want to be sure

37. And thank gawd. Could so easily have got drawn in to going too far down a route that was not for me because of other people’s opinions before that.
