  1. The first rule about the dating thread is you don't talk about it with people you're dating.
  2. Develop a thick skin.
  3. Do not invest emotionally too soon.
  4. It's all BS until it actually happens.
  5. Trust your gut instinct.
  6. People vanishing, lying & being generally weird is not your fault.
  7. You are the prize-they should be trying to impress you.
  8. If it's not fun, stop.
  9. Loo update is mandatory.
10. No dating the thread. 11. Read Why Men Love Bitches (aka WMLB), and take from it what you will. 12. Don't serve up moose burgers on the first date (although this is still in debate right now) 13. Matthew Hussey also very useful. And very easy on the eye even if you don't find him any good. 14. IF THEY SAY THEY DON'T WANT A RELATIONSHIP, THEY DON'T WANT A RELATIONSHIP

Great news sky as they don't make it easy to navigate their website to cancel subscription at all.

Destinysdaughter · 20/09/2016 15:26

Curly hugs to you too! I recently got a job after not having worked for a long time and it's really boosted my self esteem. I did loads of research on the organisation which I think paid off. Just think about all the things you have to offer them and try to think of examples where you can sell yourself. Also remember they need you as much ( if not more, as they have to empty someone whereas you can walk away ) as you need them so you are actually in a strong position!

Good luck! 😀

Destinysdaughter · 20/09/2016 15:28

*employ not empty!!

Destinysdaughter · 20/09/2016 16:34

Just got this message from MrPosh wanker....😥

Hi please don't hate me :-(. Despite my best efforts to steer clear of it I met somebody on Sunday that has resulted in me ending up in a relationship status. It was the last thing I wanted really, hence not doing anything to look for a relationship, but sometimes things just happen I guess. I want to see where it leads but I also desperately don't want to lose your friendship. I totally understand if you feel differently though. I'm not a dishonest person so it would be wrong for us to meet now. I hope you understand? X

SkyRabbit · 20/09/2016 16:45

Destiny Fuck that shit! There's no way he just met someone on Sunday and is now in a relationship??! Twat.
At least he had the balls to tell you I guess. Sorry Sad

PrizeyPrize · 20/09/2016 16:47

destiny WTAF?? You are well rid of him. He told you this via text message? Spineless wanker. WineFlowers

Oh destiny, I'm really sorry. What an awful text to receive. Hope you're ok

Destinysdaughter · 20/09/2016 17:10

Thanks all, literally just received it, been to shop to get wine. Thanks for your responses, he is spineless and no I don't believe he just met someone on Sun and now they're in a relationship! Oh well it explains why he wasn't replying to my texts. He made such a big deal of not being like other men and being deep and spiritual but was in fact just like all the other bastards out there! I haven't said this to him, I was v dignified in my reply. Also being 'desperate' to not lose my friendship?? That's bollocks too.

I fucking knew it was too good to be true! We seemed so compatible as well and he really was the nicest most intelligent and seemingly compatible guy I'd met in ages!😥🙁🍷

Hueandcry · 20/09/2016 17:30

Awe sorry destiny that's just crap. My one & only date from old texted me today & said he's not sure he made the right decision (telling me he didn't fancy me after 1 date!) Jeez you couldn't make this up. Hugs to you destiny (yeah I know they're not mumsnetty) & enjoy your wineWine

Destinysdaughter · 20/09/2016 17:34

Seriously shit like this just makes me want to give up on the whole thing really. Or be a total bitch to guys. Except I don't really have it in me to do that. How can you avoid men treating you like this?

I had my suspicions anyway which is why I didn't put all my eggs in one basket. So, let's not feel guilty about multi dating as the men sure as hell are doing it....

PrizeyPrize · 20/09/2016 17:46

Destiny I think you are right, it's absolutely shite. I have no idea how we can avoid it it's just absolutely rife, I mean just look at this thread. I wish I knew what the solution was. Maybe multi-dating is the answer, which I don't have the time or inclination for. I'm with you on the being unable to be a bitch to all guys. I wish I could, it would avoid being hurt.

Ive got my Spotify fuck all men playlist on right now. Some great tracks on it! 😀

Curlylox · 20/09/2016 18:27

So what MrPosh is saying is he's met someone else but in case that doesn't work out you'll (Destiny) be in the wings to pick up where things were left.......well he can JOG ON CAN'T HE......oooooh makes me so mad I'm refraining from turning the air blue in Mumsnet Angry

Destinysdaughter · 20/09/2016 18:45

Curly that is exactly what my friend said! ( I sent her the text ) I'm so stupidly trusting and naive that I didn't even think that...Duh!!

Destinysdaughter · 20/09/2016 18:47

Love all you wonderful women. Your support and humour and wise words are really helping me tonight!

Xxxxx to you all.

Myusernameismyusername · 20/09/2016 18:50

Don't turn into a bitch. Please please don't. All it does is feed into men's ideas about crazy women.
Stay yourselves, don't change. Any of you!!!

Curlylox · 20/09/2016 18:56

Destiny stop that right now, you are a kind, caring wonderful human being from the inside out. I posted this on my Facebook and something I say to myself on a daily basis "The way people treat you is a statement about who they are as a human being. Don't take it personal it's not about you."

Destinysdaughter · 20/09/2016 19:11

Curly yes that is true. TBH despite his nice treatment of me there was something a bit lack lustre abou it. Also when he said what sort of women he found attractive, they were the more dark skinned Latino fiery types and that's just the opposite of me so that gave me a few alarm bells early on.

And don't worry Myuser I'm not going to be a bitch to men, that's not me. But I AM going to re read WMBL book yet again and maybe not be so nice in future.

Meaning, to take much more time in assessing whether a guy is really worth investing in emotionally. But men always want to move so fast..!

Anyhow enough about me, how's everyone else doing..?

Destinysdaughter · 20/09/2016 19:17

Why men love bitches book. It's NOT about being a bitch, it's about having self respect and dignity in dating men. Bloody well worth reading. Just look at the reviews!

Myusernameismyusername · 20/09/2016 19:38

You can totally have all that without being a bitch.
The word bitch is a word created by men to explain behaviour of women that they provoked IMO. I hate it. It's just a label to put onto women to distract from the fact they treat them like shit.
You just need your radar on and take control of poor behaviour and put a stop to it. That's being strong and independent not a bitch

Curlylox · 20/09/2016 19:38

Oooh thanks for that destiny, will go and have a nosey.

Curlylox · 20/09/2016 19:38

Oooh thanks for that destiny, will go and have a nosey.

Myusernameismyusername · 20/09/2016 19:41

In fact the term bitch is also used to describe a woman who won't tolerate crap either.
Just don't like the term it's too broad. Independent and strong is the way forward.

Mr Shy is now almost spamming me with messages for a sudden grab for my attention. Which I have not given because I've either been RL busy or speaking on here or to my actual friends. I also needed time to think about what to reply, if at all.
I think he's seen me log back on to OLD and panicked? I don't know is there 2nd date panic? Because it was such a weird sudden drop that now I have lost some trust in his intentions

Myusernameismyusername · 20/09/2016 19:44

Was not expecting a topless selfie Hmm
