Cherchez l'homme. Of course, it's about a man.

I met him April, we got to know each other slowly. I realised I liked him, and that he was a patient, good humoured, clever, creative person, who cared about thinngs. We tentatively discovered we both liked each other. We have been on two dates, that's all, but they were a full week apart because I was away in between. He was supposed to be coming over to my house later, and I sent a text to suggest a time. I realise I haven't heard from him since early monday morning. Just after midnight Sunday I mean. Now I'm sitting on my hands. I'm quite mumsnet savvy. I recognise the red flags. I recognise a player and a narc. I thought this guy was lovely. He seemed to like me back. We were actually chatting (and I know you can't count on beer-talk) about the near future iyswim.

Help me not to send a sarky "?" by text now. My house is clean on the plus side. I'm going to go and get a bottle of wine, for mySELF. Whether he comes or not.

OP I had a similar experience to this. met a guy, got on really well etc etc. few dates and then he just didn't turn up. worst thing was I was sat waiting in a pub for him!!
we had arranged to meet at 8pm in the bar. messages that very day confirmed the plans..last message at 3pm.
so regardless of him not replying to my text at 7pm I took myself off to the pub and waited for 20 mins.
no contact. nothing. he just didnt turn up.

not sure why im telling you this or hijacking your thread but just to say some people are really thoughtless and you can do better.

Where's the OP gone? Wonder if he's arrived? Git.

Report
sonjadog · 19/08/2014 20:28

If he's arrived, then I take back what I said about him being an arse. Although I still think he should have replied to the text and also sent one if he was going to be late.

I'd been seeing a guy for two months when he did this to me. On fucking Valentine's Day.

We had mutual friends so I saw him again a few months later and he acted as though he barely knew me. Twat.

im afraid at this point its probably not fair to fill OP with false hope.

even if he did turn up. he is late. he never messaged to say he was going to be late. so a thoughtless bumhole imo.

his comment:

He didnt turn up!

But he did ring me :-o . He was a bit "boo hoo poor me", i said hang on, i texted you today. He thought id gone off him. He swears he didnt get the text and i do believe him. He is coming round in 35 mins. I told him id eaten though. So we are just going to catch up. Phew. I feel so relieved!
He said i should ring him if i am thinking about him, not text him in future.
