Hello and welcome.

OP posts:
jesy · 05/05/2014 05:54

Dating as you going out on dates.

jesy · 05/05/2014 06:28

Sorry cat was sick mid post.
Lol
We do go out not as much as I'd Like but he is very busy with work ext but in a way that good for me as I'm not waiting around for him. Like I did before or pestering for dates.
It's like to many ppl I do sit around waiting ( my so called mate even called me a call girl) but in the last few weeks started to do more.
It might be obvious from some posts that I suffer from depression at times and anxiety issues .
It's partly as I wanted to play it cool but I've benefited from it , it might seem petty stuff but considering six months ago my life was get up watch tv go bed it's progress.
It's like today's plans
Out in the garden, might go to the festival in town, making meaty nachos for tea mend my DVD player lol

Sorry for waffle message

Minime85 · 05/05/2014 07:11

louby that is very funny about the trousers.

folk so good to hear things are going well.

I'm finding how u judge all this hard work. I try and play it cool but I just need constant reassurance which is ridiculous. been seeing lovely bloke. just hope it lasts Smile

louby44 · 05/05/2014 07:12

Yeah he wore his snakeskin trousers with pride along with his black velvet jacket. I can't see past either to be honest!

FolkGirl · 05/05/2014 07:25

What was his hair like louby?

louby44 · 05/05/2014 07:29

Shaved - Heston Blumentahl like. Glasses. He's a bit geeky!

FolkGirl · 05/05/2014 08:07

Hmm.

And when you say 'snakeskin' do you mean black or something with a snakeskin pattern, or full on Nicholas Cage in Wild at Heart snakeskin trousers..?

louby44 · 05/05/2014 08:15

Black, drainpipe/skinny shiny trousers with a snakeskin pattern! Truly awful!

FolkGirl · 05/05/2014 08:21

Yeah, I know the sort...

I used to know a number of men who'd wear those in their early 20s, but that's going back nearly 20 years.

Sounds, um, very interesting... Grin

neiljames77 · 05/05/2014 08:25

He's obviously a free spirit who doesn't like to run with the crowd and has his own distinctive style.
(you never said he wore a velvet jacket as well for christ's sake)

ItsANewWorld · 05/05/2014 08:50

Joining as I suppose I really ought to do some proper dating.

Terrified.

No idea where to start.

No idea where to go. But here is a good a place as any Smile

ItsANewWorld · 05/05/2014 08:59

Actually where would be a good place to start?

Am near to London but not in London.

At the old end of the scale.

Terrified.

Two of my (more experienced) friends are playing around on Tinder. Is this wrong?

UrsulaBuffay · 05/05/2014 09:24

Laughing at Nicolas Cage oh dear!

theuncivilservant79 · 05/05/2014 09:25

Help!!!

neiljames77 · 05/05/2014 09:26

What's up?

UrsulaBuffay · 05/05/2014 09:26

Confused I was chatting to someone yesterday who I considered meeting but today he's all 'xxx' and called me a cutie TWICE within about five messages. My walls have gone straight up, why do they do it??!

UrsulaBuffay · 05/05/2014 09:28

Pahaha I replied 'I'm really not cute' & he's gone 'ok'. Sorry but I'm 34, not playing along with that shite.

theuncivilservant79 · 05/05/2014 09:35

I posted yesterday about my date contacting colleague for info. That's not cool right?

neiljames77 · 05/05/2014 09:54

I'm going to be a hypocrite I'm afraid. I would expect a woman to do some digging into a new man's background but I wouldn't expect a bloke to do the same.

FolkGirl · 05/05/2014 09:59

I hestitated posting because I sort of agree with neiljames.

I think women do it for safety reasons and to check he isn't married. There are a lot of chancers doing OD and if you can find out a bit about them beforehand so much the better, but men don't seem to think about it.

I always googled my prospective dates before meeting them, and was open about it with them. Every single one of them was really surprised and thought it was a little odd. None of them had googled me.

FolkGirl · 05/05/2014 10:03

Not odd in a bad way, just strange as in it would have never occured to them to do so.

But perhaps he's been hurt before and is just trying to protect himself. I'm led to believe that some men do have feelings so, it is possible...

neiljames77 · 05/05/2014 10:06

Anyway, I have a date next weekend with a woman called Rose. She used to be married to a bloke called Fred but it all went tits up.

Wish me luck!!!

UrsulaBuffay · 05/05/2014 10:07

I think the ringing the friend is fine and shows he is kind of serious but telling you is a bit weird

theuncivilservant79 · 05/05/2014 10:11

Thanks everyone. I think the telling me about the call is what freaked me out!

Meanwhile before that I went on a date with a personal trainer who confessed after minutes they he worked part time as a gay pin up Grin. He was hot and quite funny but he didn't understand lots of the words I use so it was no deal Hmm
