Part 5

The purpose of these threads is to allow survivors of childhood sexual abuse, their partners, friends, or parents, to talk in a safe place about what they think and feel. Nothing is off limits or taboo, just say what you want to say.

Olympic at one time I was obsessed with watching films based on childhood abuse and have several books about abuse including both austrian cases and Martine Macutchen's mother and aunts books.

Offred · 12/06/2012 23:30

Yes, don't identify as a feminist either. DH home. To bed.

dottyspotty2 · 12/06/2012 23:30

I don't know maybe it makes me a crazy case.

dottyspotty2 · 12/06/2012 23:31

Night Offred x

OlympicNCerExtrordinaire · 12/06/2012 23:36

It's only the first book which has it in it, the further books are her grown up and how she becomes a wife and mother. She hunts and tames wild animals, in set in the time of the neanderthals so a lot of how early humans survived, cave paintings etc.

Michelle Paver and Isabelle Allende are good too.

Night Offred.

Dotty, I'm off too, big hugs :o

OlympicNCerExtrordinaire · 12/06/2012 23:38

You're not crazy, just finding ways to get through, x

How are you doing Offred? I'm a massive Margaret Atwood fan - have you ever read Cat's Eye? That's easily her best I think.

I feel almost high after doing so much writing last night. How it makes me feel scares me a bit.

Am desperately trying not to do an olympic name change marathon :o

Brilliant Cailin, remember us lot when you're rich and famous.

I'm supposedly a feminist but just don't connect with it, mind you I don't connect with much :o the odd single celled aemoba(sp) or two short planks.

Have a fabulous day everyone :o

Lookup · 13/06/2012 11:01

i have name changed, been ranting too much on other threads on MN, so fancied a bit of a break from Belle. hard to get a name that hasnt been chosen already tho!

just made 1000 or so oat biscuits (slight exaggeration) to try and keep myself DCs calmer this week, apparently oats work wonders.

also have a sponge in the oven. not sure how it will turn out, but DD had fun making it, so that's the main thing I guess

too exciting at my place today really it is

OlympicMarathonNCer · 13/06/2012 12:04

Lookup, oo I've loads of nc ideas :o

Just realised my family is matriarchal so need more therapy.

Just been invited to a sailing club but feel to pathetic/weird to go so going to bubble myself for a while.

I do have a certificate of madness though!

dottyspotty2 · 13/06/2012 12:08

Cailin its another task I've set myself not been able to go big places since my discosure.

CailinDana · 13/06/2012 12:12

I hope you get some enjoyment out of it dotty.

Lookup can I come to yours pretty please? Oat biscuits with lemon and coriander humus is amazing.

is it a bad thing to delete the comments my mum puts on my facebook status

(trivial) just jokey comments, as if to show to the outside world that we are the best of friends, and look what a great relationship she has with her daughters

all part of her cover up I feel, so yesterday I just removed her comments. I'm sure she noticed, had a missed call from her yest but we were out at library and for a walk, so am glad I decided to do that and leave phone at home (doing that often now since her stalking behaviour has upset me so much lately)

Lookup · 13/06/2012 12:18

she is just choking me with her pretence at a relationship

there. that sums it up, and i dont even know where i managed to find the words to express that came from. gosh weirdly that feels good to identify it so clearly.

choked. is exactly how she always made me feel.

eugh

CailinDana · 13/06/2012 12:22

Of course it's not bad Lookup. You don't need permission to set boundaries, and you don't need to let her dictate how your relationship works. The main thing though, is not to engage. If she rings to complain about the FB thing don't give her the impression that you care, just say "Sorry you feel like that, oh must go, talk to you later," and leave it. As soon as you make excuses or try to explain yourself you're giving her an inroad to control you again.
