Ta-da! Think this is the first one I've started.

I am still feeling somewhat feisty. Told my team off at work for being too noisy Blush and was generally stroppy. Might have to go and start a row in AIBU or something!

So, dating, as you were etc Grin

Not forgetting of course that I have a second date at the weekend!

I'm gonna go for skinny jeans dressed up with mid heels and a sparkly top. Can't go wrong in skinnies really.

first1 · 11/04/2012 15:32

Yes chicken! I always wear my skinniest jeans, heels (but try and find out his height first!) and a sexy but sophisticated top. It worked Grin

ChickenSkin · 11/04/2012 15:34

Oh First1 that is always a major issue with me. I'm 5ft 10 so even little heels make me push around 6ft!! I don't "do" short guys Grin he has to be at least 6ft lol
Mr Friday Night is supposedly 6ft so if I'm taller than him, I'll know he lied!

PostBellumBugsy · 11/04/2012 15:37

Thank Milk - skirt & boots it is.

Chicken, your outfit sounds so cool - but just for the record you can go very wrong in skinnies if you are 42 and shaped like Nigella!!!! Grin

ChickenSkin · 11/04/2012 15:41

Grin thanks postbellum! I was going to say "You can't go wrong in skinnies .... unless .... " but changed my mind before I got jumped on by the pc police Grin

hatesponge · 11/04/2012 15:42

I will be wearing my fabulous new shoes here sadly this means I will be a good inch or so taller than Barbour, but that's for him to worry about Grin

Now just to decide what to wear with it. Wore skinny jeans last time, was thinking of something different, though frankly it was so long ago I doubt he will remember!

OP posts:
PostBellumBugsy · 11/04/2012 15:48

Completely wow at your shoes Hate!!! Those shoes & your fab feisty attitude - he won't know what's hit him.

first1 · 11/04/2012 16:07

Chicken - I'm a piddly 5'4 and dp is 5'10 so if mr chicken doesn't work out on Friday I'll go on a date with you Grin

MyLittleMiracle · 11/04/2012 16:13

I have a date tomorrow now. Just got it, I am wearing a dress. It sounds like some people do get lucky online. Maybe I will too.

first1 · 11/04/2012 16:15

Good luck miracle! I met my fab boyfriend online, there are definitely plenty of good eggs out there Smile

ChickenSkin · 11/04/2012 16:16

Aww thanks First1 Grin

notsurewhyohwhy · 11/04/2012 16:21

hates - wow he sounds like hard work, glad hes not married though Grin but i'm not sire how i would feel about dating someone thats so busy. the last guy i was seeing worked long hours and i only saw him once a week or once every 2 weeks. and he only lived about 10mins away. but hopefully he will be worth it Smile

watchout - you seem like a real pro, like a fountain of date knowledge Smile I dont think I know exactly what i want to do with all these dates yet

milkandlotsof - as i'm quite new to the thread I dont know the story of your FWB, if you like him so much cant you get into a relationship with him? or are there reasons why not, just asking as I also have a FWB that i quite like Wink

notsurewhyohwhy · 11/04/2012 16:25

also on the what to wear bit, I always think i should wear skinny jeans and a nice top and heels on a first date.

Recently when i was going on a date i was considering wearing a dress or skirt but didnt know what shoes/boots to wear as the weather was nice and not that cold. is everyone wearing black tights with their skirts/dresses?

maybe next date i will wear a dress Wink

hate - love your shoes, i've also got loads of nice shoes but worry about being over dressed if i wear something like that on a week night for a few drinks, i think i'm too fussy Smile

first1 · 11/04/2012 16:34

What's the maximum age gap and distance you lot would consider in potential misters? My sister likes someone 19 years older (she's 26, he's 45 which I think is so so wrong, he could ultimately be her dad).

ChickenSkin · 11/04/2012 16:38

10 years max for me I reckon first1. Mr Friday-night is 10 years older than me and he's already voiced his concerns about the age gap! I'm very mature for my age though flicks bogies at first1

hatesponge · 11/04/2012 16:39

I rather love shoes, the higher the better Blush I have black patent courts of a v similar height which I wore on first date with Barbour. They look ok with skinnies, not too dressy and in line with what others in the pubs seem to wear. I do only go out on Fri/Sats though, as I am too tired from work to go to the effort of dating during the week - plus I usually have the DSs to get home to weeknights.

notsure he is hard work, like I said if date 2 happens he will have to up his game from now on if he expects a 3rd!

OP posts:
notsurewhyohwhy · 11/04/2012 16:40

lol at first1 - i'm not too sure about distance as i'm still new to internet dating, but age wise I am 26 and I say 26-36 but i met a lovely guy on the weekend that is 25 and i'm cool with that, i guess there can be exceptions to the rule Smile but 45 sounds old to me, have you seen pics? If he looks old then i would think no...

ChickenSkin · 11/04/2012 16:41

I don't know, I'd quite happily give Kevin Costner a 2nd date and he's way older than me.

Infact, isn't Johnny Depp in his 40s? Grin

hatesponge · 11/04/2012 16:48

I wont date anyone older than me again, though I have in the past - when I was 24 I dated someone who was 44, and prior to that at 21 I had a brief dalliance with someone who was late 40s Shock

Barbour is 4 years younger but I may have slightly misled him so he thinks we're the same age. I tend to attract/be attracted to men about 5-10 yrs younger. Men my own age just seem a bit prematurely aged and dull Grin

Ginger Chemistry man was a whole 13 years younger Blush. His mum is only 7 years older than me! I think more than 10 years may be a bridge too far, for me anyway Grin

Having said that, it really depends on the person. My dad was 17 years older than my mum and they were v happy together (but met when my mum was early 30s, I think the age gap 'feels' different depending on what age you are if that makes sense)

so after my first date with the guy that was moaning about location (i think i will call him Mr Location) of where we were meeting, i'm not sure what i think of him. we got on well enough, but i usually get on with everyone. he has been texting me alot and we have said we will meet again, but would you all go for a second date if you were unsure?

also I met a guy on the weekend that I really liked but i was drunk and cant remember if i gave him my number or not. we spent the night together (but did not sleep together for certain reasons Sad) he was so lovely and cuddly all night and said he will call me etc and when my friend and i dropped him off he ask me to come out of the car to give him a hug which i did. and he said he would call soon, but hasn't what is that about?

TimeForMeAndDD · 11/04/2012 19:32

Nope notsure, if I was unsure I wouldn't be going again. But I'm a hard cow Grin If he isn't a Soul Soother he isn't for me. As for the other guy, well, it was only the weekend that you met him so he still has time to call before you write him off Smile If he doesn't call, then, NEXT.....!!

Sponge I love, love, love those shoes!!

pinkbluepink · 11/04/2012 19:35

Hi everyone, can I join in?! Sponge, I have followed your posts with interest, having been in contact with a serial texter off and on for flipping ages.....

DENMAN03 · 11/04/2012 19:37

Hi all,

Watch, glad to see you appear to have shaken off the Easter blues..you seem to have some interesting dates lined up!! go Girl!!
Well, Ive got a few Im chatting to at the moment..one is rather young but extremely good looking! He wants a date. Im not too sure but thought I would just go for a drink just for some company!
One is a similar age, very nice looking but his texts are a bit dull if im honest. He seems keen! Bit busy over the next few weeks with work but may meet up in London where he works and were Im staying with work for 2 weeks.

ChaoticAngel · 11/04/2012 20:19

Hi, long time no post Grin

I've recently reopened my okcupid profile and am thinking of dipping my toe in the water again.

I just checked it not having been on for a few days and found three messages. As usual I get the chatty ones...one of them simply says "Hi" HmmGrin

One of the others I'm sure he was on Smooch, which I'm no longer on. I wasn't interested in him on there and I've not changed my mind because he's changed sites.

The third has a photo were all you can see is someone, could be anyone, sitting on a bench Confused His witty, oh so thoughout line was "It must be great living in *." Considering where I live, I get the slight feeling he may be being sarcastic Hmm

Ah, the joys of internet dating Grin, or not as the case may be. I haven't got a lot of spare cash floating around atm so I've decided I'm going to do selective dating this time around.

Good luck to you all.

adamschic · 11/04/2012 20:52

Had a look at OKCupid in my area and it's a dead loss, lots of fugly men and miles away.

Oasis is just as bad. Guess it would have to be Match, don't think so due to £££ or create a blank profile back on POF and set it to IE Grin Grin Grin. Who dares me? Hey I might do it if I get really bored.
