Crappy isn't it!

I must admit I won't ever grumble (too much) abuot not having enough money. DH works full time about 13-14hrs a day and I work part-time from home to make sure I can still be with the kids most of the time.

Our days usually starts when DS2 gets up at 4.30am and ends about 10.30pm.(but today I've been up since 1.15am)

I am lucky to be able to stay at home, watching the debt building up is quite difficult but I keep telling myself that when DS2 starts school I'll go back to work and we'll sort it out then. So lack of funds in our home is I suppose a choice. A difficult choice though. There is absolutely nothing left over each month and it's hard shopping to such a tight budget, but yes it's our choice. So won't complain!

Can't bear the thought of leaving the kids all day. I'd rather sell the house.

Pfer · 10/01/2006 16:29

We are also lucky we bought our home just before the prices started going up otherwise we'd be living in my mums shed!

Pfer - we're about to move to a slightly (and I mean slighty) bigger house, so of course that means a bigger mortgage...aarrgghh! My saving grace is that our CM is also my SIL (sadly this does not mean freebies in the caring dept because she couldn't afford to lose the place), so I am assured our dd is in the best possible care second to me and dh. In the meantime we hope for an aged relative (don't have any), insurance policy (don't have any) or such like to send something cheque-like in the post.....hence my nickname!!!!

Pfer · 10/01/2006 16:52

I so wish we could move, there are 4 of us in a very small 2 bed semi. DH and I have moved into the 2nd bedroom so the kids have the larger room for all of their stuff, but the house just seems so crammed!

There's no way we can move for a few years yet, our house has doubled in value since we bought it so we do have a fair bit of equity but as all the other houses have doubled in value too we are in no better as position than if they'd stayed the same. We can't afford a bigger mortgage at the mo. and it gets a bit stressful at times. Still I keep picturing that slightly bigger house, the slightly better bank balance and remember it's just a few more years and it'll all be worth it.

Good luck on your move, hope it goes well

I really can't be arsed to enter into this but it does seem to me that Carla is making stuff up, changing her story at a whim and then forgetting what she has originally said. Or she is spectacularly dim.

codnotamod · 12/01/2006 13:13

i dont see why seh doenst leave him
think hs emakes it all up

tuesdayafternoon · 12/01/2006 18:00

Just read this thread and it has occurred to me that maybe what Carla meant to type in her first post was "Since ALL This goes on boring food" rather than "since all his..."

That would make more sense, and would also explain why she didn't understand why everyone was so confused and kept asking her questions. If that is the case, it must be the most unfortunate typo in MN history!!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 12/01/2006 21:27

Interesting.......

Well spotted for a new poster.

Janh · 12/01/2006 21:27

She's not that new

Aloha · 12/01/2006 21:33

You know, I think you may well be right. Still doesn't explain why Carla wouldn't answer any questions and kept giving those wierd answers, but it might clear up some confusion.

Aloha · 12/01/2006 21:34

Also, LOTS of people quoted that line back to her, and she never said, oops! no, I meant to put 'this'. Very odd. Very odd.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 12/01/2006 21:35

i had guessed that much...... first ever post an all that................

Fio, darling, most of us didn't know that (I certainly didn't) - obviously it emerged in the course of the thread that there was more to it than face value but we're not all psychic, unfortunately (or fortunately, on some occasions, possibly)

LadySherlockofLGJ · 07/02/2006 23:14

Why are we ressurecting this so far down the road???, Carla has been posting fairly normal threads a lot of the time.

soapbox · 07/02/2006 23:15

(whispers) Fio - I think it might have been better to let this one lie, it is from a while back!

soapbox · 07/02/2006 23:15

Ah LGJ has already said that!!! x-posted!

Not a lot cos we have an incurable deadly trojan virus thing which keeps shutting it down - however I am getting the feeling that I should try it right now - BRB
