Hello

I'm Mouse, well normally! [hgrin]

Welcome to the Bus. We are a mixed bunch of Babes, some of us drink, some of us don't and some of us are trying to find out the best way to cut down or stop completely.

There is plenty of room on the Bus for everyone so, come say hi. [hsmile]

And, if you'd like to see what brought us all here, you can read all of the past threads, including the original one by JWN RIGHT HERE

Hey everyone

indie hope your day has gone well, given all that interrupted sleep Grin

venus glad that normality is returning and that DD is recovering

msgee it feels so lovely when you help out at nursery and school, I always really love it Grin although, mine now issue a list of instructions of what I may and may not say and do whilst there Sad , but I generally just ignore them Grin. Hope your day went not too badly.

ma we need an update on the dress front [hgrin].

thurso I also had a day where I felt uncomfortable with people even although I knew that I was also sticking up for the correct thing. Made me feel very uncomfortable! But I stick to my guns, and know deep down that the decisions I made were made for the correct ethical reasons, even if they were not widely appreciated by the group of people that I was with.

missy hope you are ok.

Where has everybody gone these days !?! Hope you are all ok.

Bafana

Good evening all well i have a very very brave ds he has done his interview and im so so proud of him i have the social worker coming to see me next week when he is back as school and we now have to wait for the police to decide what they are going to do
I have had some aggression from him to night but i think that is to be expected we can only move forward now .
Thank you all so much for your kind words and thoughts

missy10 xx

demonicma · 24/10/2011 21:43

bafanga so impressed with all the running. You put me to shame - I haven't been out for ages. Just do Pilates once a week.
Haven't tried on the dress again for a while - diet and drinking all to pot so don't think it will be very successful. My mother said I look "matronly"..Hmm
Still think I'll look like a bloke in a frock!!
Not sure if I'll wear it now....mutton dressed as lamb I think. Never worn anything backless and strapless before and a bit old and saggy to start now.

Daisy0407 · 24/10/2011 22:17

Hi :)

First night with no wine in months! How pathetic to seem so proud about that achievment. Oh well :(

The trouble I have with the first night, is tightness in my chest and the inability to sleep. I'm off to make myself some warm milk. Maybe a kitkat too as a reward for not having a drink tonight.

Silver66 · 24/10/2011 23:00

MA - shut up - you will look gorgeous

try the dress on again and then get the right underwear - take the dress with you to try on underwear stuff - God I don't know, but I do know that 3 new fitted bras have changed the way I dress....

Did you go and get properly fitted? I know you didn't ..........................Grin

you will look bloody fabulous Grin

checking in babes x

Silver66 · 24/10/2011 23:00

and hello Maisy

welcome aboard xxxx

Silver66 · 24/10/2011 23:02

of course I meant Daisy ...x

ThursoVeryWitchy · 24/10/2011 23:06

Hi, Daisy,

I'm just checking in before I go off to bed, welcome to the bus Smile.

Tightness in your chest is probably, maybe, just your body saying, "hey, what's expected here?" Obviously I don't know your own circumstances, so if you are asthmatic or anything call the Dr.
Otherwise, KitKat sounds like a fine idea!

Ma Think positive! I know what you mean, but you won't feel any better wearing a frumpy old frock like I did on DC1's graduation, just to fit in Blush.
xxx

ThursoVeryWitchy · 24/10/2011 23:07

Silver you lovely, you Grin xx

notevenamOoOooOoooosie · 25/10/2011 08:38

Morning lovely brave babes,
I seem to be coming out of this self-pitying state, need to get on with getting ready to move and stuff. Tiredness just is, and worrying about what people think is always a waste of time. Today is good, it's swimming and the library with my girl, what's not to like? And sobriety, so I will enjoy it.
Hope everyone has a good autumnal Tuesday. x

MsGee · 25/10/2011 09:26

Morning,

sounds like a lovely day noteven

all ok here, worked till late last night, so tired now. Getting fat too.

three more days work, then I can relax. Meeting here soon, must do hair! Grin
Hate having meetings at home. There is always an element of 'what if they are a serial killer?'...

swallowedAfly · 25/10/2011 09:53

you sit nearest the door and know your way out msgee - never let them between you and the door. oh and a tazer helps Wink

i'm sorry to be so awol. i fell behind on the thread, then catching up was so epic that even if i did catch up i'd then have a whole lot more to read from when i was catching up iyswim. and maybe i've been avoiding a bit too.

back on the bus. might just sneak into a seat at the back here and smoke fags out of the window.

legalalien · 25/10/2011 10:31

Hi all,

Back on the bus- Day 2 for me. I drank a bit too much white wine over the weekend (nothing outrageous and no rule breaking), largely because was bored and have been home alone this week and am massively behind on my studies as a result of a two week half term for DS. So checking in to say hi and get a bit of moral support!

On the bright side, got my exam results from last year (I passed) and it's a lovely day here in London today... and the All Blacks won the World Cup...

Am having a big clean out of old stuff in the interests of swapping over DS' bedroom and our study, so hopefully will find a buyer for our yet to be dismantled cot bed. Might sound a bit strange but I am definitely an "anti-hoarder"!

Daisy - one day without wine is great! As we all know on this bus.

Miles behind on the thread so will try and gradually catch up on what is going on!

Oh, and lastly does anyone have a family member who is a mad supporter of one of the Championship or League 1/League 2 teams (i.e. not Premier League). I have a £45 voucher to buy kit that I received when I changed energy suppliers but everyone I know supports Chelsea / Arsenal / Spurs / Man City / Liverpool or Man U.

jesuswhatnext · 25/10/2011 13:59

BOING!!

well, here i am holding the fort all by myself, everyone is out at meetings and im bored! Blush im totally hopeless at motivating myself when im all alone Sad oh woe woe is me! Grin

off to do a bit of online shopping! Grin

btw legal, i have a nephew who supports colchester, dont know if that is the right league or whatever though?

Isindie, Hands up to popping in and out, keeping an eye on bus, but not posting regularly Blush.
Life a bit shit at the moment with regards to finances!

legalalien · 25/10/2011 16:01

Am here writing up lecture notes and drinking copious cups of tea.

JWN according to DS (who is an expert on all things football league, Colchester is in League 1, so your DN could use the voucher in the Colchester shop. I think you have to go into the shop rather than using it online. If you want the voucher let me know / PM an address to send it to....

Mwahahahahahahahouseface · 25/10/2011 18:02

Good evening Babes Smile

All is well in the land of Mouse, at SIL's currently, back home tomorrow night.

I managed to accidentally drink a whole bottle of wine the other night. No idea how it happened. One glass lead to another and we all know the rest of the story, don't we?

Just wanted to write that down, see it in big, black letters.

Silver - how is your mum doing? Any more news? Thinking of you xx

MsGee - how is poo-gate? How are you sweets?

Bafana - are all things back to normal now, and are you better?

So far today, DH has fallen through a garage roof, cut his finger badly, banged his elbow and scared his skin on said garage.

That's why we're here. To knock the garage down so that they can get two cars on the back of the garden. Oh such fun. Hmm Grin

venus - how is DD?? How are you too? xx

And so, here's to day 2 with no wine. Slept ok last night in the end. Took me a while to drift off but even though I was tossing and turning a bit, I still felt okay this morning. Had a non-hangover headache though!! What's that all about?

I ordered an outfit for myself from Next that got delivered today. Skinny black jeans, a red blouse and ankle boots with a bit of a heel. I say a bit of a heel because I always wear flats. Can't really walk otherwise. Tried it all on and thought "what a mess!" I need an outfit for Saturday night, so I've really left it all too late. Not sure what to do now. I need an opinion from someone other than my 6 year old son I think. I tried everything on with my bootcut jeans instead, but I just looked middle aged Grin There will be some seriously dressed up people at this party. As I intend to not drink, I really don't want to think I look awful.

Might just not go :(

demonicma · 25/10/2011 21:47

HELPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!
OH
MY
GOD!
Just wrote a long chatty email to a friend about the awards dinner, about the dress, about my insecurities in wearing it, about feeling like mutton dressed as lamb, about my work colleagues maybe laughing at me...etc etc, about the client I am taking as my guest who i refer to as "MILF man" because he flirts outrageously and once said I was a MILF(mummy I'd like to fuck).....and I sent it to my boss by mistake!! Seriously!!! I've tried to retrieve it but I cant - its from my gmail account.
O God, i said about doing a lot of mileage this month because it would bump up my wages for Christmas......Oh God, somebody help!

legalalien · 25/10/2011 21:49

Hi again Daisy - well done on Day 2, also on Day 2 and fortunately the witching hours have passed!

Jeans, boots and shirt sound good in principle (as it happens I was wearing black ankle boots, no heel, black skinny jeans and a red top (admittedly with a sort of leopard print - don't laugh!) just today. And I have a six year old. I am probably not, however, qualified to give style advice. Where are you off to, in general terms? If in doubt I always go for a simple -as-possible dress when I'm not sure of the dress code...

And I think it is a universal truth that we all look better sober than drunk - to other people, anyway Grin

legalalien · 25/10/2011 21:56

Ma Shock

first, don't panic.

second - does he have a PA who might be able to intercept?

ermm.... don't suppose you put anything in there that the spam filter might filter out particularly if it comes from gmail

does your gmail address identify you by name?

It's really just the mileage bit that's potentially problematic, don't you think? If that's at the end of the email, you might get away with politely asking him to delete it as it was sent in error: if he just scans the first few lines about dress anxiety he may in any case get bored and delete it on the basis that it wasn't sent to him.

demonicma · 25/10/2011 22:01

no, it's gone to his personal gmail because we sometimes pass on joke emails via our personal gmail addresses. i get on well with him but it's SOOOOO embarrassing. There's no way I'm going to the dinner now.I mention having to get the top taken it because of my "chebs" ffs!Blush I want to DIE.
the mileage thing will look awful - it was a genuine meeting but now he'll think I've done it just to bump my claim. I mention sitting drinking red wine "which I'll pay for tomorrow" - Holy shit, I'm in tears here!

demonicma · 25/10/2011 22:05

oh god, I asked my friend if I should get bronzer for my cleavage....said I was rubbish at being a woman......I sent it to MY BOSS!
