Hello.

Welcome to The Brave Babes Battle Bus. Smile

I'm mouse and I have an abusive relationship with alcohol. I can't have just the one drink, ever.

I'm not alone here, there are Babes who are sober and have been for some time, Babes who are still drinking and trying their best to stop or cut down and then there are Babes who aren't ready to stop drinking. Yet.

So, why not come and say hi?

No judgy pants allowed on here I'm afraid, cakes and cheeses are! Grin

And for those who want to know a bit more about the Bus, HERE is our journey so far.

Ever wish you hadn't asked . . . Grin

and yet in the morning, dirt encrusted, plague ridden horridbabydoll is mysteriously missing from MissGee's bed. A cursory glance around the room and under bed confirms the disappearance. MissGee, busy slurping cereal has not immediately noticed but MsGee remains puzzled until . . .

Over to you Babes, what happens next?

Just warming up for Halloween [manical Grin]

MsGee · 22/09/2011 22:02

we do often have trouble finding horridbabydoll at bedtime. She was hiding tonight. Her tag has mysteriously worn off and after hours of searching on the internet for cleanlessscarybabydoll there is no similar babydoll out there.

Sorry for interrupting story...

Fairenuff · 22/09/2011 22:07

Ooooh, that's part of the story!! Where did she come from? And why does she hide from adults. The plot thickens . . .

thursomuchtolookforwardto · 22/09/2011 22:11

Crikey, have enough nightmares for tonight, MsGee and Faire, can horridbabydoll go to one of Cecilia Ahearne's book's and get "lost".

But, you have caught me tonight, and I shall be trying not to think about her!

I can't carry on the story unless I give you all nightmares too!

Overactive imagination over and out!

XXXX

MsGee · 22/09/2011 22:12

I am off to bed now. But first I will check on horridbabydoll. But I am scared.

I will report back in the morning.

thursomuchtolookforwardto · 22/09/2011 22:13

Now I'm going to go to bed and think up the story!

I wish I could meet you lot, I may not, then, feel so unusual!!

MsGee · 22/09/2011 22:14

Faire pm - offer of horridbabydoll pics!

MsGee · 22/09/2011 22:14

I didn't mean that in a weird way

bafanatheSober · 22/09/2011 22:14

Evening all! You are all loons you know! Grin
Please - this is supposed to be a safe place, I need to be able to sleep, not worry about horridbabydoll Grin

msgee your sounding really positive today, I hope that the letter and sharing with us is helping.

indie I hope that you have has a very safe and sober trip home, and I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you for the contract.

zany honey - you are worth so much more than a relationship that gives you this much stress and heartache. Singledom has got to be better than a heartache relationship.

mouse hope that DD is on the mend soon, and that everything goes well in Manchester tomorrow.

BBwannaB you must be coming close to a year now! Coz you are a couple of months in front of me. Are you planning something special to mark the event??

Newlylush - mouse is right, keeping drinking could potentially kill you, just stay here on the bus.

Obrigada how are you feeling today? Have you decided what you are going to do about the AA thing. Don't answer if I am being too nosey! If you want to chat about going beforehand, send me a pm.

Waves frantically to everyone else!!

Have spent the evening creating a running playlist for my iphone. Will be up at 7 in the morning!
Sleep tight and safely all

love
Bafana

Morning...

Today I will not be drinking.

And today I will find out how to post a link to youknowwho...

Fairyloo · 23/09/2011 07:10

Hi all,

Would this be right place for sober alcoholics who attend AA?

After two years chaotic. Problematic drinking which led me to loose driving license, job and partner, I eventually realized I had to do something, started attending twelve step meetings and have been continuously sober for nearly two years!!!

My life is totally different today, I have not used antidepressants or pain killers for any of this time! I look better, sleep amazing, feel better. Love waking up excited to be sober instead of remorseful at what I had done.the best thing for me is absolutely no craving to drink atall. I NEEDED a drink everyday. It was the only thing that got me through work. Some days it can be hard and I think oh I would love to go to the pub with friends (but the reality is when I was drinking I was drinking alone in the house, not in nice social settings)

So just wanted to say hi and can I join!!!

Fairy

legalalien · 23/09/2011 07:43

Hi fairyloo, the more inspiration on the bus, the better, I think! Welcome aboard - some of the long timers will doubtless be along soon with Friday morning refreshments (often bacon sarnies, although I tend to associate these with hangovers so I'm not too sure about that Grin.

Have managed to stay alcohol free Sun to Thurs this week so am pleased with myself. Weirdly, managed to fall asleep watching TV on the sofa last night despite the lack of alcohol, but that may have been a consequence of my running effort yesterday. I can walk this morning, which is a relief!

DH was very surprised by his birthday cake. Its edibility is still to be put to the test.....

Faire is it you that has the dreaded Ben10 phase going on? DS has just told me that I can get rid of all that "Ben10 plastic tat" (I am training him well), so if you're interested in some plastic Ben10 figures.... Fortunately we've moved on to Garfield and Sky Sports, which is a big improvement.

Having a few friends around for dinner tonight, so will be some wine involved but will be planning not to drink in advance of their arrival and drink plenty of water...

Morning all,
Thanks for listening to me last night, and the good suggestions, I was just having a strange evening I think. An hour of studying and I was much less un-tired! Plus DD was up from 3 til 5 so unlikely to be anything other than tired tonight.

I discovered yesterday that in the new DSM-V (the "bible" of diagnoses from the US) that alcoholism, and alcohol intoxication have been removed as diagnoses. All addictions, dependence and misuse will be called "substance use disorder" and/ or "substance intoxication". Political Correctness gone mad...??
MsGee I am very grateful that we merely have Tabby, who is a zebra, and not averse to the occasional trip in the washing machine
Inde such a champion of the underdog!
Hi to everyone else, welcome back rusmum - no guilt today, it won't help, just what are you going to do now? Hello Fairyloo. Off to chivvy DD into getting dressed.
