Hello.

Welcome to The Brave Babes Battle Bus. Smile

I'm mouse and I have an abusive relationship with alcohol. I can't have just the one drink, ever.

I'm not alone here, there are Babes who are sober and have been for some time, Babes who are still drinking and trying their best to stop or cut down and then there are Babes who aren't ready to stop drinking. Yet.

So, why not come and say hi?

No judgy pants allowed on here I'm afraid, cakes and cheeses are! Grin

And for those who want to know a bit more about the Bus, HERE is our journey so far.

no carb breakfast or lunch that feels treaty - scrambled eggs and smoked salmon.

if i want bread i have a tortilla wrap - not exactly low cal but really filling and def less than two slices of bread. inside put lots of protein - canned mackerel goes really well as it is good and oily.

BOING!!! Grin i LOVE that dress ma!! im sure you will look stunning!! im going to order one for myself! very feminine and slinky! Grin

i have had a seriously odd weekend - spent most of yesterday with my first husband Confused actually had quite a nice time with him, we met at a local bike show quite by chance, i had gone to meet my brothers and buy a new leather jacket and boots (which i did! Grin) although it was nice to see him (this is my 1st dh, NOT the 2nd, the legionarrie) it did remind me quite dramitically why i love present dh so much!! dh is is young and cool and handsome and kind and just basically a wonderful man! Grin alright alright, i'll end the slush fest now! Grin

Lovely Mouse, Sorry,I didn?t mean photos.
What a beautiful family you have though. Love the red curls and sparkly eyes.
I meant smileys. Can?t do bold either.????
Noteven I hope DD is feeling well soon. Your accomplishments have meant so much to me. There for the grace?
Msgee we have a rule of no electricity in the morning. Confuses some when I mention, just mean recreational electricity. We have to be bish bash out most mornings. Works for us.

venusandmars · 03/10/2011 13:21

I also loved your "disabled myself from things I'm disinclined to do" phrase thinice. I liked it so much that I wrote it down - it is exactly what I did with alcohol.

ma make sure that you don't get hungry: so protein filled breakfast; snack mid morning; protein based lunch; snack mid afternoon; protein based dinner; evening snack. And lots of water. I think that you CAN do it.

venusandmars · 03/10/2011 13:23

thinice if you scroll down the page you will see after the thread is smileys list, and emphasis and links

with instructions.

So for example to put Smile you type [ smile ] (but without the spaces)

MsGee · 03/10/2011 13:23

saf waves back Smile

saf I had the same diet... very successful I am afraid but only for a short time. And not healthy! In any sense..

Bafana I do find mornings easier without tv. I hate waiting to go until Jake and the damn Neverland pirates finishes...

Also I find I am recycling lots of coke and 0% beer cans which annoys me because I want people to be astounded by the change in recycling.

venusandmars · 03/10/2011 13:24

msgee I was such a harsh mum - certainly no TV in the mornings, and also no TVs in bedrooms.

MsGee · 03/10/2011 13:26

sorry, am half a page behind the posts.

MsGee · 03/10/2011 13:26

would it be cheeky of me to say I might have some hummus for lunch Grin

swallowedAfly · 03/10/2011 13:31

i'm soft as hell with the tv because i'm lazy and like space in the morning - therefore ds has living room and tv to himself and i have my bed and the laptop. he has his breakfast in front of the telly whilst i drink coffee up here. then he comes up and has his wash, gets dressed etc and then watches a bit more tv before school Blush it works for us!

i suspect it means he'll be just like me though as an adult in needing his pottering in peace time in the morning. we mostly amble through our routines rather than race.

swallowedAfly · 03/10/2011 13:32

x posted! don't open the hummusgate msgee! Grin

thinice · 03/10/2011 13:34

Smile Ha Ha thank you. Top tip Venus, no spaces. Smile Smile I am touched that venus and isinde found resonance in my words, as you are two very eloquent babes. Smile showing off now. What does 'convert links automatically' mean?

venusandmars · 03/10/2011 13:37

I have just applied to be a volunteer on a helpline for a relationships charity. Eeek! Had a good chat with the recruiter / supervisor and she encouraged me to put in an application.

bafanatheSober · 03/10/2011 13:42

Is this the fastest we have every filled up a thread. The old one is still on the list of ones that I am on, and that was the 21 September, so just 12 days!

Are we just more chatty now Smile?

venus i think that you would be superb as a helpline advisor!

saf I tried with the TV, but it was a total false economy, I just ended up screaming alot and being ignored a lot, this still happens Hmm but not becuase they are engrossed in fecking Icarly Grin

MsGee · 03/10/2011 13:51

bafana I think we are getting busier, more people on the bus and we did have a rather busy couple of days recently. (I shall say no more).

saf I had tzatziki and a tortilla wrap instead...

venus well done on the volunteer application. If I am thinking of the right charity, I do some work for same one in my local area! Very different to the public perception I found.

DD is terrible with the tv... I should be stricter but I figure when she comes home from nursery she wants to flop in front of it ... much like I do after a day's work. Not that that will happen tonight Grin

swallowedAfly · 03/10/2011 13:51

ooh good for you venus.

i'm applying for a job Shock - it's just part time working with young people with mental health problems doing 1 on 1 support, leading group work and some stuff in 'educational and work settings' with the aim of developing their skills in managing their conditions i think. won't really know what it's about till i get the application pack through. also probably won't even get an interview because despite being over qualified i have no recent work experience or references which understandably does not bode well when you've got thousands applying for every job out there.

bafana i suspect it's a bit easier when there is just one child and one adult - we can afford to be laid back as the chaos levels are relatively low compared to your average family i am guessing Grin
