Brave Battling Babes - Booze No More!!

Mouseface · 30/07/2010 23:47

Well, thanks to the refreshingly honest and inspirational JesusWhatNext - this is the third thread, for the battle to beat the booze for all of those who are on the path to do so.

Some are sober, some are trying to be and some are still drinking.

I'm Mouse, I'm new to this and I'm scared. So, come and join the journey.

Infruriating I agree.

He's just gone out with the DDs and I'm tidying up and hanging washing out. I can guarantee when he gets back he'll say 'was it nice to have some time to yourself?'!!!!!

ChristianaTheSeventh · 08/08/2010 11:52

Mouse it's so weird with the job. The headhunter is SURE that it's not that someone else is in the running. I am very bored with all the dithering, for a very 'eminent' company it doesn't sound so good.

Thanks all for your kind wishes and keeping things crossed.

Time to yourself = washing, tidying, clearing up, etc.

Agian, PHA!!!!

How is that time to yourself? Do all men think along these lines or just our DHs?

The joys of housework!!! Hmm

DH is giving me a wide birth today for fear of gettng cleaned! When I'm hormental, I get really OCD about the house being clean! Drives him nuts! Grin

Toclearmyhead · 08/08/2010 11:59

My dh ahs annoyed me too - asked him to hang the washing out 2 hours ago as I was going out. Get ina nd it's still in the machine and now it's going to rain Angry

Petty, I know! Am not really that angry, just don't understand men's logic :o

Mouseface · 08/08/2010 12:22

Oooo - today could be renamed as Wang Sunday!!

All these pesky DHs!!!

(wang is a backhanded slap but I once got told off on here for 'slapping' someone) Hmm

OP posts:
Toclearmyhead · 08/08/2010 12:56

Mouse - glad you clarified that. Was contemplating telling dh I was going to wang him but worried he may get the wrong idea and forget to hang out the washing more often :o

MissPerrier · 08/08/2010 13:20

Yay Mouse that is such a positive post! Well done for last night, you are really good at talking to everyone at once. [admiration emoticon]

jesuswhatnext · 08/08/2010 13:22

wanging sounds like a very good idea! my dh does that 'not acknowledging' thing sometimes, drives me dolally!!, he can always hear me though when i call him for dinner Hmmtolear!! ha ha!! Grin

i am quite happy to start the new thread, but someone else will have to do the links Blush, havent quite figured that one out yet!

off to put some washing out here too! see you all later!

btw - we are all so bouncy today i think a party with all us attending would be great fun, we dont need the booze at all!!! Grin

Mouseface · 08/08/2010 13:39

JWN - If you write the title and opening bit, like I did for this one, I'll link it once I see it ok?

Smile

Ooooo - yes a party!! I'll bring the cheesey nibbles, cheese on a stick, cheesey dips, cheese sarnies, cheesey wotsits!!!! Grin

MissPerrier · 08/08/2010 13:52

Bollocks by the time I cleverly compose a reply to someone, check spelling and do a 'does this sound ok or will it offend' paranoia sweep, there have been loads more post and the conversation has moved on. I will have to speed up Shock

Mouseface · 08/08/2010 14:57

Grin at MissP.

It's harder when there are a lot of folks all on here at once! Or even more than 2!!

OP posts:
jesuswhatnext · 08/08/2010 15:19

Toclearmyhead · 08/08/2010 15:24

Didn't take long to fill this thread! Just been to the shop to buy my drink for tonight so it's nicely chilled - diet coke tonight!

Mouseface · 08/08/2010 16:26

venusandmars · 08/08/2010 18:11

Wait, wait, wait, there's still room for 35 more posts on here (well 34 after this one).

I might just keep posting on here myself. At least that way I'll always keep up with the previous post, and no stupid x-posting.

Gloupgloup · 09/08/2010 07:59

Well I'm back and I'm pleased to say that I'm on day 4 !! I'm happy but suffering of nasty headaches, is it normal?

Toclearmyhead · 09/08/2010 08:15

Hi Gloupgloup - there is a new thread Mouse linked to it earlier. Isn't it good th have a sober Monday? :)

(Sorry, don't know if you know me I joined last Monday)

Toclearmyhead · 09/08/2010 08:16

Someone else has probably already said this (still catching up with weekend's activity) ... but do his "meltdowns" remind you of your drinking?

RedMoomin · 09/08/2010 10:22

Get thee to the new thread MIFLAW - you are needed over there!

If it is of any comfort, I think everyone on this thread has 'slipped' apart from the great jwn and vandm. You are not alone. Stop counting days and stop beating yourself up!! Read my thread by John Coates, who has 'healed' people for 20 years in his 'recovery' centre. He has admitted publicly (on Amazon) that he is unable to help even himself!!!
