Just ordered the Playmobil police seaplane for DS2 for £5 rather than £30!!

OP posts:

right - one of my two items arrived but the other one is scheduled for the 23 of nov - the £35 has been taken from my account but there is no sign of the voucher anywhere - is this normal because the whole thing has not been dispatched or should i brace myself for a tedious returns scnario?

Lilyloo · 11/11/2009 20:39

zebra i on another thread asking the same thing. I think they keep your refund until they dispatch the last of your order.

zebramummy · 11/11/2009 20:47

phew - ds has already mastered the game we ordered but it is bloody overpriced and i would send it back straight away without feeling guilty if need be.

Clary · 12/11/2009 01:05

It's crap isn't it if it was intended as a £50 spend code - it didn't work like that for any of us!

In fact if it had been £25 off a £50 shop I would still have used it, as I was buying 2 x DS games and £25 for 2 would still have been a bargain.

Need to check credit card co I think to see what I have paid....

Flightattendant · 12/11/2009 07:09

Lockets that is horrible feeling like you have been told off by them on behalf of everyone else when you barely did anything...compared to come who really did abuse it.

I didn't think of it as a glitch - these things are often totally bona fide - and I don't therefore think it was dishonest.

I don't think you need feel bad. Plus if it helps Littlewoods and Additions are notorious for getting things very wrong - I have had it go both ways, they've sent me a statement with the discount applied twice, then another identical statement sayingthe first one was wrong but I had already picked up on it and rung them to say they'd undercharged me, and they agreed to take the payment, all very well - on another occasion I was sent four sheets instead of two (bear in mind I have on average had about one order from them every two years, and still!!!) and told me to keep the extra sheets which was kind - but they have delivered things which were just AWFUL quality and messed about with deliveries and days, not adjusted accounts, and once I bought insurance for a product which they then failed to cancel despite about 5 phone calls asking them to and I kelt the certificate for 3 years as I never quite believed they had finally cancelled it - turned out they hadn't, and I claimed on it in the end but that again took them weeks.

They are such a disaster in terms of admin that they surely have no real idea who owes them anything or whom they owe...it's ridiculous. Plus their prices are a con from the off.

And I am almost sure that this little charade will have been deliberate, because they have done it before and once they see how many people sign up and order, they can look at their profits or losses and decide where exactly to place the minimum (ie £50) and then tell everyone in retrospect that they should have spent £50. It's really really naughty.

Please don't beat yourself up - I know, I would be too, but it might easily NOT have been a glitch. And I don't think you were dishonest because you rang them to check.

*some

tis early

Flightattendant · 12/11/2009 07:14

I've now had my littlewoods item collected, but have kept the very order as it was over £50...and the additions one as it was about £40, and although they may claim the voucher back if they see fit (it was on credit) I will just pay it as I wanted the item anyway.

Just a bonus if they don't - and I did ring them and ask, and she told me it was fine. I think she couldn'tbe arsed tbh and didn't care either way. It depends who you get and I wouldn't put it past them changing their minds later.

Clary · 12/11/2009 11:25

Just to update - I checked on my credit card this am and have been charged full price then refunded £25 the same day.

As long as they don't come calling for the cash...well I really don't see how they can.

Sorry you were messed about Lockets NCT bargain sounds good tho.

OracleInaCoracle · 12/11/2009 20:46

hi, i used this code too and cancelled an order with Marshall Ward. the money has gone from my bank account but didnt reach them because they are saying that they didnt process the order, so they havent claimed the money yet (does that make sense?) so I have £60 in a monetary void. christ knows when it will be credited back to my debit card!

however, ordered 2 playmobil toys from littlewoods that arrived on monday. both fab and both for a fiver, so cant complain too much. i will get the money back.

woman from Marshall Ward was vile though. "that code was for a £50 spend" me:"it worked though" her:"but it shouldnt, you cant get it for nothing" me:"i havent have i? ive not received the toys and not received the money back" her:"thats because you haven't paid" me:"yes i have. seen bank today, payments pending: auth code xxxxx and xxxxx to you"

carriedababi · 13/11/2009 14:07

ordered one thing from them,i hope they are not on the con

ScattyKatty · 13/11/2009 17:27

What happened to Lockets?

TBH I do feel that some people really abused it, using it half a dozen times etc in various names.

I used it once and actually felt very guilty and was almost relieved to have the thing taken away Glad it's over.

Yeah I'm not feeling the love!

It's does bug me that people that used it once are getting into trouble and people who went way over the top are not

reallywoundup · 13/11/2009 17:52

but its odd that out of hundreds of orders on just mumsnet alone- only two people have had a problem! i've still had nothing from them to say i shouldn't have used the code, makes you wonder what kind of computer system they are running!

HOWEVER- i used my new mob number on the registration for the order i did- and i have had a few marketing calls in the last few days maybe my phone number is worth the £25?

TimeForMe · 13/11/2009 18:04

I've had no problems either and have today had an email giving me more voucher codes! £25 off a £60 spend!!

carriedababi · 13/11/2009 18:08

time for me, how much did you spend?

NewPinkPup · 13/11/2009 18:21

Aww, I want them to send me a new code!!

TimeForMe · 13/11/2009 22:02
