My mounjaro is arriving today.
I'm starting on Monday evening .. l see my psychotherapist every Monday then go swimming .
My daughter has just gone onto 7.5. She's lost two stone in 11 weeks.
I had a good chat with my GP and diabetic nurse and they were very sorry they couldn't prescribe it.. but are very much in my corner.
Today l ordered Root ginger capsules.
Peppermint oil capsules and Collagen capsules.
For the sickness / heartburn/ burbs/ saggy skin .
Here's wishing you a great weight loss journey... and everyone else starting.

Whatintheholywoah · 20/07/2024 12:18

I started last Sunday and have lost 5lb. It’s my time of the month, absolutely my worst week in terms of craving and bloating so I’m over the moon I managed that! Minimal side effects, no picking or craving, I feet great.
I’m with voy and would definitely recommend for the extra coaching, reliability and peace of mind. joining code below for £85 off if anyone needs one 😄

I might join you. I am 110kg and 5ft6 so desperately need to do something. Also sneaking into pre-diabetes. Where do I start with getting all the info? Lots of mention of collagen, protein etc. Do you get told these tips when you sign up with someone? I am also worried I won’t be able to inject myself. Do you have to insert the needle yourself, or press the end of the pen so it shoots in automatically (iyswim)… I am such a wimp..

Re the needle- if it’s anything like an insulin pen it’s tiny and you really won’t feel it, I injected into my stomach and it’s painless - nothing like a syringe needle.

I’m also waiting for approval and hoping to start next week.

GoodLuckBabe · 20/07/2024 14:41

Thanks @Johaanah , yes hopefully it would be fine. I just worry I’d have a mental block actually doing it. I am ok with blood tests etc so it is def the element of having to do it myself.
how long does it take to get approved, and are you going with Voy?

Hi I started last Sunday and have already lost 5lb. I was the same as you, really nervous about the needle and needing some extra support so I went with voy as they had great reviews and offer extra support and coaching. I did consider zava or med express as they are cheaper but if go on their Facebook pages lots complaining about delays and bad customer service which put me off.
I had to fill in the forms and provide photo id and a photo to prove who I was and that I was in need of the medication. I had a 20 min video call with a coach who is also a nutritionist the day after and my mounjaro arrived the day after that so a really fast, smooth process. She also checked in on me via WhatsApp mid week and I can contact her whenever I need to.
The needle is absolutely tiny! I had my partner to inject me as I was nervous and I had to double check he actually had as I didn’t feel a thing. I definitely feel confident that I can inject myself tomorrow. I’ve had minimal side effects and felt great. Not thinking about food and don’t fancy anything naughty. I take collagen and have a protein shake a day just to ensure I’m getting maximum protein. The coach will advise what to eat if you’re not sure and there is a support group on Facebook.
I would recommend Voy, I think you get what you pay for and I personally needed the reassurance I can access support whenever I need it. If you download the app they give you £30 off month which makes it £199. Don’t do that straightaway though, they email you the offer. It sticks at that price up to 10mg. I have a discount code below for £85 off if you want one. Happy to answer any questions. My experience has been 100% positive so far.

Hi @GoodLuckBabe, there is lots of useful info in the opening posts of the Continuing Mounjaro… threads (currently on thread 17). The Mumsnetters on there are really friendly and have loads of good advice based on their experiences

I am posting my code as using one enabled me to start my journey and I was thankful to use it. I am 30 lb down and feel like a new person. Joint pains almost all gone. Voy have been excellent and this gives you £85 off your 1 st order. They will offer discounts if you cancel the subscription so work out cheaper if you know how !

I am very worried about side effects, I really am… especially the nausea. Literally bricking it! Not fussed about an injection, I survived multiple piercings and tattoos, so a little needle should be alright, but nausea is something else 😭🫣

Hey, I ordered yesterday, so pending approval, I'll be starting soon. At least 4 stone to lose.

I took Rybelsus for 2 months last year so I know it works, I just couldn't afford to continue. My only worry with Monjuro is injecting myself!

Thanksforyourlackofthought · 21/07/2024 14:28

@Melania90 I have just finished week one, so took my second jab yesterday. So far, no side effects at all. I am into bio hacking and am currently doing Keto. I was really worried as working away all week so making Keto choices when having to eat out every day can be a pain and the thought of side effects on top made me really stressed.
I am, as of today 9.59 lbs down from last Saturday.
Good luck!

Sarahlouise86 · 21/07/2024 14:38

Hi Everyone!

I've ordered through Voy and it arrived yesterday.

Currently suffering from a cold courtesy of my two children so debating whether to hold off a couple of days taking it..or if nerves are getting the better of me and I just need to get on and do it, if I'm going to feel rubbish it will happen either way.

Start weight is 76kg...I'd really like to drop at least 10kg. 2 kids, busy job etc etc but hoping this will give me the kick up the bum I need.

Good luck everyone 🤞🤞

GoodLuckBabe · 21/07/2024 17:26

What kind of packaging does the Voy pen come in please? In the adverts it looks like a large box compared to the Asda one for example. I am not planning to tell my kids, but they are generally all over anything that comes in the post 😂They are teens, so not easy to fob off!

90yomakeuproom · 21/07/2024 17:34

I only need one more referral to get 100% discount so would appreciate anyone using this link as it is having such a positive impact on my life.

Here is a pic of the box that voy send the mounjaro in, all the branding is inside. The sticker says “keep refrigerated”. It’s just plain but rather big and wouldn’t fit through the letter box 😄

The Voy package comes in a plastic bag, the package is not too big but does have a sticker with fridge item on it.
Not too unlike a clothing order package so may not be to obvious although heavier due to ice pack.

The fridge sticker gave it away for me to my husband. 🤣I was going to tell him when it arrived anyway.

bubblecandy · 21/07/2024 17:52

If anyone thinking of starting with Voy, I also have a discount code which will allow me to get my next order for half price and you will get £85 off your first order.
There is so many posts with code sharing so understand if nobody uses it 😩 but delighted if someone gets a discount.

Good luck in weigh loss 😀

GoodLuckBabe · 21/07/2024 17:54

Thanks all, it is quite a large box for a small
item isn’t it - annoying!!
Another question - assume they write to your GP to let them know? And has anyone taken out travel insurance while on it, does it cause any issues?

GoodLuckBabe · 21/07/2024 17:55

Sorry that was two questions! I will use a code if I go ahead - may have to pick one out of a hat!

There is a sharp box in there aswell as an instruction booklet with a link to a step by step video showing how to prep and inject, spare needles/wipes etc. It’s delivered by Royal Mail so have a 2 hour delivery window. Its up to you whether they let your gp know, I opted out.

Whatintheholywoah · 21/07/2024 18:03

I don’t think it affects travel insurance they usually only ask about existing medical conditions. We are going away for a week in September. I’m considering having a week off though as you can skip one dose without it affecting anything.
