Hi everyone, I’ve just been approved for Mounjaro 2.5mg from Voy and planning to start 1st of August! Looking for others who are also starting!

I haven't had any side effects so far except some chills yesterday that might not even be connected to the jab. But you do have to take it same day each week so I'd just choose a day you can stick to easily.

The extra dose is for the priming but you can extract it with an insulin needle (buy on Amazon). I’m going to get some just in case and see how I feel but it seems fiddly and I’m not great at injecting myself, the normal pens needle is tiny the insulin one is longer. It wouldn’t be wasted on voy if you really wanted to use it as you could just not open your next pen and use the old ones extra dose first. The 2nd pen would still be good to use for the 4 doses if you do this as it has a 30 day expiry date and the 4 doses are completed in 21 days. You don’t need to move up doses unless you feel you need to so can stick on 2.5 or 5 etc as long as you want. I find it starts wearing off 5-6 days but I like that as I inject on a Sunday so Saturday I can enjoy a glass of wine if I want.

I use my netdiary as it tracks your macros too (protein etc).

Ive had few side effects, in fact I feel very energetic 🤣

Day four ..no side effects..
Lost 4 pounds.
Remember 2.5 is a loading dose to get used to it.
I'm eating mainly eggs ( scrambled/ boiled) whole meal bread. ...small slices. Fish like smoked haddock and prawns.Feta cheese.
Chicken... breast in a stir fry with plenty of stir fry veg .
Fruit and salad.
Had a peanut protein bar instead of choc..
Not even craving choc or cakes/ pastry.
I've taken a photo of myself in my favourite dress with date l started...Will put same dress on every month and take another photo.

I've just done our online shopping order for tomorrow and got some Fage yoghurt in as that is high protein, and a few bits like cottage cheese and oatcakes..is there anything people would recommend eating while on the plan?

I heard a mention of avoiding pasta, why is that please? Is there anything else which should be avoided, fates perhaps? Thanks

My coach/nutritionist said to limit carbs and after a half sized of my usual portion of pasta I could see why. Never felt so full and uncomfortable! I don’t think you have to avoid it but have a small portion and see how you are.
Im eating my usual healthy meals just much smaller portions. I also have protein shakes that I make with full fat milk if I’m struggling to eat, keeps my calories and protein count up.

Had what I thought was a pretty healthy day today (boiled egg and toast for breakfast, hummus and roasted veg for lunch) so went out as a family to a family style kind of diner. I didn't have a starter like I would usually, got a small cheeseburger with salad, could only manage about ⅓ of the chips and fuck me I felt so full I was out of breath! This time last week I'd have scoffed all that down and had a starter and dessert to boot (and probably finished the kids fries off too).

Only just starting to feel a bit more comfortable 4 hours later. Horrible feeling but I guess this is what my body should have been telling me...or maybe it was but I just wasn't listening and the mounjaro has turned the volume up to 11.

I’ve taken the plunge - was approved within about five mins after sending the photo, which I was a bit offended by 😂Not sure when it will arrive. @Xiaoxiong that sounds positive. I think I am the same as you in that I have got used to tuning out the ‘stop eating’ messages as the taste is delicious (probably not really that delicious, but designed to trigger all the naughty food reward circuits that are dominating my brain). Hoping the medication helps me build up the healthy food reward circuits!

After being knocked out by a cold for the week, I've finally taken my first jab this morning.

Thought I'd got over my phobia of needles but ended up nearly fainting and having to lie on the sofa for an hour. Great start 😂

I've weighed myself this morning and going to do my best not to weigh again for another 3 days. Might even attempt some weight training today....can't remember the last time I exercised!

Has anyone got any diarrhoea tablets just in case? I suffer from IBS and I'm concerned what it may mean for that...

@Sarahlouise86 well done! I will probably be the same won’t the jab. Keep us updated. I am waiting for my delivery. I am expecting constipation to be a concern rather than diarrhoea so no I haven’t. Fingers crossed if you stick to your usual foods, just smaller portions, you’ll be ok

I took the plunge and ordered Mounjaro. Now I'm having a panic as I've just received notification it's due to turn up tomorrow via Royal Mail.

We are off for a really rare overnight trip to London leaving at 2pm tomorrow. Hopefully the post will come in the morning, but if not will it be ruined sitting in our porch overnight? We should be back by noon on Sunday.

Who did you order it with? I ordered via Voy and it came incredibly well packaged. Like you we were actually away when it arrived but I put a neighbours address for Royal Mail and they took it in for me. Still cold the next morning when I collected.

Weird dilemma - somehow Voy managed to ship me two pens and I now have a second 2.5 pen it appears to be good for 2 years if I don't open it. I guess I just keep it in the fridge for emergencies!? Or for tapering down once I reach my goal weight? Voy will be shipping me a 5mg pen in a few weeks in any case.

(This is definitely my fault and not Voy's as I put in the wrong address first, then rang them to change it, so the first parcel must have gone out before the second one was changed.)

Hi, I did my first dose last night. I've had a terrible week with very painful sciatica so I thought doing the jab can't be any worse - I used to attend a phobia support group for needle phobia it was that bad! It was honestly painless and I'm so proud of myself to boot. Now to today's side effects, I feel sick and a bit like I have a hangover but I'm on various other meds for the sciatica so it could be that causing it too.

Well done @ElsaMars Im still waiting for mine. It was dispatched yesterday and I can see it has been sitting at the royal mail centre since 4.06am this morning 😡I hope it’s not a problem that it will have defrosted…

Hi @GoodLuckBabe - did you receive your pen ok? Mine got held up by Royal Mail and was not 'cold' when it arrived - Voy were great when I contacted them and said that as long as the liquid in the pen was still clear it will be absolutely fine to use.
