So nervous for primary school offer!

Just wanting to feel less alone, I am losing sleep with worry about the primary school my DD will get a place at! We live 0.9 miles from our first choice school however they always have 2/3x the applicants than they offer places so I'm so worried we will just miss out by not living next door 😫

Hey London here
with my DD eadmissions was updated about 5.30pm and then I got an email within a few minutes of that, it’s to apparently allow parents time to calm down before calling the LA at 8am the next day 🤷🏻‍♀️
hoping my DS gets in to the same school, I only put one school down as I didn’t want him to go anywhere else…regretting that a bit now

I don't think we have to accept the place where I am- Lancashire. No news yet.

I'm in Lancashire and I got the email at 06:45 this morning so hopefully yours isn't far away!

ListenLinda · 17/04/2023 07:23

First choice here, with sibling link. As it is never guaranteed, I was still a bit nervous.
for the last 2 years it’s been a headache, having them in two different places but this should be a lot easier now.
phew - can relax now.

good luck and fingers crossed to those still waiting x

Loops1987 · 17/04/2023 07:32

I'm still checking, desperately refreshing webpage and emails but I've got to set off for work in 5 mins and won't be able to check for an hour, I'm a bag of nerves!

Everyone remember to actually accept the place Grin

How do you accept? I've logged into the portal and I can't see anywhere to do this? Thank you :)

Could someone kindly post screenshot where did you find info about the outcome? I just logged in but can't see anything apart from my application.
TIA

I think in most places you get an email. Which will either tell you the offer in the email, or provide a link to the portal where you see it.

Bellaphant · 17/04/2023 07:41

In Northamptonshire, your acceptance is just presumed.

GoodChat · 17/04/2023 07:44

@ivfbabymomma1 ours came in the application table then they'd added an extra column for response and a button to accept

This is all I can see? Is that where your column was added? Thank you

So nervous for primary school offer!
Roselilly36 · 17/04/2023 07:47

Aww great news, I did the same when we got the first choice place for my DS primary.

Overtherainbow9 · 17/04/2023 07:47

Acceptance is presumed in Lancashire too. It just says the school will contact you and you confirm with the school direct. Only need to go through the council if you are appealing etc

Bunnycat101 · 17/04/2023 07:49

Ugg have to wait until 5 for mine- feels a long wait when lots of counties are releasing now.

MudandParsnips · 17/04/2023 07:56

Good luck everyone! And congrats to those who have their offers already. Anyone in Bucks? We had an email saying emails would be sent out from 11am, and then the portal could be logged onto from 2pm to accept the place. I logged onto the portal this morning, and it said you should be able to view your application, but I can't see anything at all, no applications just my details, which I'm a little worried about. Does anyone else have this?!

thismeansnothing · 17/04/2023 08:00

Phew. First choice.

That's one child sorted. Now have to hope the waiting list pays off for the older one

HappyJellyBaby · 17/04/2023 08:08

We applied for three great but long shot schools as we live in a dodgy area, got our second choice! Would have been too far away for all of the last three years. So effects of the lower birth rate year perhaps. Was awake at midnight checking the portal then couldn't sleep!

Good luck to everyone still waiting.

GoodChat · 17/04/2023 08:09

@ivfbabymomma1 yeah but on the portal -
It wasn't added on the email

Cantbelieveit888 · 17/04/2023 08:24

So nervous too!
Has anyone applied to church schools?

Good luck everyone

So annoying I'm on the same as well. My borough is so bloody literal.

dandeliondaisy · 17/04/2023 08:47

Everyone who has to wait til 5, what borough are you?

shakeitoffsis · 17/04/2023 08:50

Feel so bad for everyone having to wait all day! I got an email at 12.50am and got our first choice. My daughter was chuffed.

Cantbelieveit888 · 17/04/2023 08:51

All Londoners- where does it say you have to wait until 5?
I haven’t received an email and when I log in I don’t see any details of timings

Thanks!

dandeliondaisy · 17/04/2023 08:52

@Cantbelieveit888 me too 😭😭

Cantbelieveit888 · 17/04/2023 08:57

just wish they updated everyone at the same time ha!
The best I can see in the portal is, you will be updated in the evening. Gah I’ll just have to wait but doesn’t say a specific time.

So nervous for primary school offer!
TMarieClara · 17/04/2023 09:09

Anyone know if London/Surrey get emailed results or portal? I did a paper application, so I'm not on the portal. This area don't find out till evening and I am terrified of it not coming through and having to wait till tomorrow to call. The nerves!

rolypoly836 · 17/04/2023 09:10

First choice and I'm so happy! Really hoping everyone still waiting doesn't have to wait too long. Wishing you all the most luck
