So nervous for primary school offer!

Just wanting to feel less alone, I am losing sleep with worry about the primary school my DD will get a place at! We live 0.9 miles from our first choice school however they always have 2/3x the applicants than they offer places so I'm so worried we will just miss out by not living next door 😫

Our LA has a page for each school which includes the number of children offered places within each admission criteria. I assume every area has something like this on their website.

We have to wait for post notification as ours is a summerborn out of cohort application. They promise it will be sent out today but post round here has been dire recently…

Desperate to find out.

It’s an incredibly low birth year, most of our local schools that are usually oversubscribed are not this year.

I know this sounds batty buttttt when ours get to secondary school, I'm assuming low birth will mean larger catchment unless of course loads of school aged kids move into the area. We are moving next year and hoping to get closer to the school for Y7 🤪

Or smaller class sizes. Our year 7 cohort have average class sizes of 22/23 instead of 27/28 as usual.
