Anyway, as the weirdo with lots of spares of everything and eyelet curtains, during winter I actually stack two pairs of curtains per pole, effectively doubling the thickness of the curtain. This makes a really big difference to the temperature in the room.

There was a solution found to lighting a wood burner in a power cut. A solar panel! You may have been caught out with your new stove, if people hadn't thought that through.

I actually haven't made any plans, BUT I have access to an underground bunker that was built during the cold war. V. secure from ZA type attacks. I thought I could just trade supplies for access to my underground bunker. Is that OK? Can I stay?

I clearly need to buy more curtains, though.

lettherebe when I was growing up there was a place nearby that we villagers knew was the local bunker. In fact it was a popular place for going for a snog!

Anyway when it was decommissioned and re-opened as a museum, with entertaining signs to the secret nuclear bunker lots of my townie friends were gobsmacked that we had known.

I read the thread in AIBU last night (the one started by LEM) and was fucking incensed at how rude, snide, nasty and ignorant posters were being about the prepper board posters. I would have commented but by the time I'd got to the end of the thread I'd lost the will to live.

MN really fucks me off --nearly all- a lot of the time. So many snide, nasty, insular fuckwits who can't accept that people are different without labelling them nutters. Wouldn't the world be boring if we were all the same.

Don't know anything much about prepping, but looking forward to reading the boards so I don't get caught out as badly again as I was at Christmas two years ago.
