Hi everyone!

Well, I got my BFP on Friday morning and it is only just starting to sink in! According to my dates I am due 2nd Feb and I thought it would be nice to have a Feb babies thread, where we can all share our news/worries/excitement!

Cant wait to hear from you

OH NO - I just got woken up by a colleague as I was asleep at my desk.... luckily I have my own office, she knows why I am exhausted (and I'm the boss) or that could have been awkward!!

diddygirl · 04/06/2010 18:26

Wow girls, this is some list - how exciting!!! I've put us in order of due date.

Still having the brown dischargy thing when I wipe and there seems to be a lot more of it than at the beginning of the week. Fingers crossed for my little poppy seed! Will be going to the docs when I get home from my hols. Anyone else developing narcolepsy?!! I'm falling asleep at the drop of a hat. Dreading work next week!!

Earl gray i'm due 11th feb too according to due date calculator. Had previous mc at 5 weeks so trying not to get my hopes up yet. Congratulations

DetectivePotato · 04/06/2010 20:09

I'm not on the list. My DD according to the online calculator is 9th Feb.

What are the other numbers etc? Is it how many DCs it will be and ages?

suzym1984 · 04/06/2010 20:17

Oh crikey....cant believe I am first in the list (big gulp!).

Detectivepotato The number in brackets is age, and the # is the number this child will be (at least I think thats what it means!)

Ginafb You just made me laugh out loud....fancy falling asleep at your desk! I am back at work next week and can imagine me doing that. I have been ok this week when i can slot in an afternoon nap!

diddygirl Hope everything is ok and that the doc can reassure you. I occasionally have a brown discharge when I wipe (but only a few drops) and only on a morning, which is weird!

Detective potato I will add you on, if u can slot in age and number of DC

Hi all- can I join too? Got bfp 3 days before af was due, and now I'm offically late and got another bfp this morning so am exactly 4 wks today. This is my 3rd pg, have a DS and had a missed miscarriage at 12weeks in jan. Very much going to be taking it one day at a time this time round- but loving how excited everyone is- need a bit of that right now! Symptoms just tiredness had implantation cramps and weeing a lot. I've booked loads of jobs to do in the next two weeks (hair appt, car to garage etc) before the vomming starts. In last pgs I couldn't even walk into the supermarket without retching and don't get me started on opening the fridge!
Looking forward to spending the next 9 months with you all.
Btw- you can just phone the midwives directly in my area and arrange your booking in appt- worth a try and means you don't have to have a pointless gp appt! Booking in with mw takes about 45 mins and you have to fill in lots of paperwork, answer questions and they take bloods and urine sample etc.

Can I join your lovely thread too please? So nice to hear such excited people! This is #2 for me and everyone is totally underwhelmed here, including me as I don't really feel anything yet, so could do with some jolliness! Rather in shock TBH, as we only tried for one cycle. DH is a bit disappointed it happened so quick- that's it for him for a good year!!

Best luck to everyone and looking forward to getting to know you over the next 9 months!

ps did anyone else type 30/31/32etc for age then go bloody hell am I really that old????!!!

Hello everyone I just noticed that you have started a FEB 2011 thread in pregnancy and thought that you might like to pop across to the FEB 2011 antenatal thread which is usually where these threads are, it was started just a bit before this one and while not wanting to tread on anyone's toes I thought it might be better to get us all started at the same place before the pregnancies and threads take off? it wouldn't make any sense to have everyone split into two camps! Please come on over!

earlgreyismynectar · 04/06/2010 23:24

Hi everyone! wow this is WORK keeping up with this thread!! but i'm committed!

Got a headache, think it's dehydration despite drinking bottles of water today, feels like it wasn't enough and just downed one of those big sports cap bottles in a one-er! Boobs like boulders GinaFB i went for ugly, big bra this morning which was stashed at the back of my knicker drawer in case it was needed again (I was so in denial about wanting another). Ugly isn't the word but god the instant relief of wearing a soft, scaffolding proportioned bra was immense! Can't recommend it highly enough! Bye bye anything even marginally low cut, the top of each triangle almost reaches my shoulder blades..

WalkOnBy I too had a faint positive 4 days before AF and as everyone here is saying, a faint positive is a positive! On due day it was a big fat positive! I expect like everything else we are all slightly different in when the HGC levels are apparent. Congratulations!

HazB I agree, the symptoms come and go, as for focus, my head has already gone to mush, getting words out of my mouth in the correct order or even FINDING the words is challenging! Pregnancy head... don't remember it starting this early on. Carabee the symptoms do come and go, good luck with your appt on Thurs.

Maybee lindamgwr good luck!
linz17xxx clareanna good luck, I feel for you and everyone else who has had an MC

Grumpling Cute way to tell your news! I'm hoping to keep this news from my work and consequently a lot of my friends till 5 months, am I being unrealistic?! I've been buying some clever (non maternity) tunics which are going to hide beginnings of a bump very well!

banana Good luck, everything x'd for you, I understand how scary this must be for you. I found your question about how can you love another really interesting. I too already have one DC and I have wondered the same. I remember my sister telling me she felt exactly the same when she found out she was expecting her second. She said that she wondered how on earth she could love another as much but she said once he was born she discovered that she had even more love in her, more love than she realised she had and that the love just instantaneously increased! I always remember that cos I thought it was lovely. So yes, these feelings are perfectly normal. I'm feeling excited for DD to have a sibling, I'm seeing poppy seed as being a gift to us all!

applecharlotte how lovely that your due date is the day before OH! It could end up being the same day! The 11th is also significant for me as it was my dad's birthday, he died 6 years ago so I very much saw it all as meant to be (as I am wont to do!)

Dee36 I too find eating a bit of a challenge and as for earl grey being my nectar, i'm off that too, I'll have to change my name! starflowergirl LOL mushroom cuppasoup with the bits strained out! hope you're feeling better. So pleased for you re. how well it went telling your dad! He must be so made up :-)

debka stop already! I am currently the oldest one here and yes, I did think Bloody hell am I really that old???!!!!

thebreastmilksonme come over here, we've already got this party started!

sorry this is soooo long i'm all alone here as DP works away..

I'm still a newcomer to mumsnet so I was grateful to see what AF stood for too! Grumpling - I found a list of abbreviations somewhere in the 'tips on postings'(or something like that - like I say, my mind is shot already!)- it's off the home page somewhere. It helps a lot!

Have a nice sunny weekend everyone!

Woke up early today (curses, it's Saturday!!) with low back ache, and a faint queasiness. I think this may be the start of it....?

And I'm also very very thirsty, starving all of the time (cheese and onion crisps are my nectar) and incredibly tired. I've been nodding off at half nine every night this week, leaving poor Mr Teapot lonely and bored while I snore on the sofa!

I'm washing my Pregnacare bullets down with Twinings lemon and ginger tea, which is a nice alternative to my old favourite - so-strong-it-puts-hairs-on-your-chest coffee. Which funnily enough, I did try to drink yesterday, and it made me feel terrible. Half an hour later I was shaking and retching in a McDonald's car park - not a good look...

I've lost my mind already, and now my body is rebelling against me. What a roller-coaster?

suzym1984 · 05/06/2010 08:07

Morning ladies!

Well, me and DH are going to a wedding today, where none of our friends know. I am a little nervous about a) not drinking...and DH is bound to get drunk and annoy me! and b) as I wont be able to choose the food, what if I am served something I dont like?

Oh well, I guess I will still have a good time!

Oh, and nearly forgot....welcome to debka and Clareanna.....congratulations!

Wont be logging on til Sunday night now, so have a lovely weekend everyone!

Hello Ladies

I have just found out (this morning) that I am going to be a mummy! Due early Feb if the online calculators are accurate. Very excited!!

Symptoms: also experiencing metallic taste in my mouth but not seen any change in my boobs, though I am sure that will follow!
Have had nausea all week but was also very anxious as to what the result may be so think it was more because of that than any actual symptom.

Hubby thrilled. Only 2 of our good friends and my mum know. Waiting until 12 weeks to tell everyone else.

Really pleased there are so many other ladies here to talk to.

Going to see my GP on Monday, happy to update as things progress.

Congrats to everyone!!

LalZee83 · 05/06/2010 09:06

Sorry I forgot to mention - baby # 1 and I am 26

AnaYorks · 05/06/2010 10:05

Hi everyone! Can I join, please? I can't tell anyone yet, but I need to share the excitement with someone!

I've been suspicious for about a week; did a test this morning and Yay! Positive! DH and I decided to stop using contraception and 'go wih the flow' - looks like we've hit the jackpot first cycle! He's not sure whether to be proud or disappointed!

Tummy v bloated, boobs have gone up by a cupsize already and lots of period like pains. Glad to see there are others on the thread experiencing similar - at least I know I'm not weird.

Calculator says I'm due 7 Feb, so same day as you StarflowerGirl.

Really looking forward to getting to know you all.

Can't believe how tired I am already and hungry!! Last time I stopped weighing myself when I put on 3 stone as I am only a size 10 and was huge. Wondering if it will be the same this time. I don't seem to want chocolate at the moment. . Thats my evening treat.

Slighly concerned now as I had a letter from the docs this morning inviting me to go for a swine flu jab. Not sure if I want this while pregnant but I know there have been a few cases of pregnant women getting swine flu and dying. Any thoughts?

MissTFied · 05/06/2010 11:31

Morning everyone,

Good to have more people join.

Feeling rather jealous of all you ladies with big boobs! Mine never change, still small. Wish I had bigger boobs to match my already big tummy. I looked pg ever before I was!

Not looking forward to the inevitable nausea. I think mine starts from 7 weeks then disappears at 12 weeks. At least I'll have an excuse not to cook!

Have a lovely day mummies!

LalZee83 · 05/06/2010 12:21

Sorry I am still getting the hang of all this; am due 6th Feb, please can I be added to the list?

banana87 · 05/06/2010 12:22

Hi everyone,

So happy to see more BFP's join us

Spotting has (fingers crossed) stopped here, discharge back to its normal colour. I have been feeling very queasy which is worrying as it is very early for me to be feeling this way. Last time I was soooo sick and on nausea drugs from week 7-14! The EPU called yesterday and I have a scan booked Fri at 11:20am. Really hoping to see my little bean and a heartbeat, but not sure if 5 weeks will be too soon to see a hb??

Like you clareanna, I had my hair cut and hilights yesterday before the sickness starts. At least I know what to expect this time! And my mom will be here from the 17th until beginning of Aug to help me out!

I am 30 this weekend and last night we had a big dinner party. I wasnt intending on telling anyone other than the 3 people who already knew but then a friend of mine noticed I wasn't drinking and said 'Are you?' and I said 'no' with the biggest grin on my face. I am such a bad liar. So now she knows and my friend sitting next to me who overheard...

Does anyone else have NO appetite? All food and thoughts of food turn my stomach and I have to force myself to eat!

StarflowerGirl · 05/06/2010 13:46

banana I'm glad the spotting as stopped and that you get to see a happy, healthy little bean on Friday. Like you I have absolutely no appetite. I wander around the kitchen trying to find something, anything, to eat but nothing takes my fancy. I'm having to force myself to eat what little I am as I just can't bear the thought of eating at all. It's horrible isn't it.

LalZee I'm adding you to the list

Morning everyone! And welcome to some more BFPs! This is a very busy thread

Detectivepotato I too am soooo tired and hungry! I dont seem to get hungry gradually like normal, i just get suddenly ravenous where I need to eat NOW! haha

banana I have no idea about hb this early, but whatever you can see will hopefully put your mind at rest that everything is where it should be. So glad you are feeling better.

Also, I love that you are a bad liar, cos I aam too! We told everyone at the wedding yesterday that I was on anitibiotics so wasnt drinking. And one by one all our friends came over and said things like "congratulations by the way" or "when's it due?" and I just keep smiling! haha so the cat is well and truly out of the bag.

Well, I am back at work tomorrow after a lovely half term off and I am worried about the tiredness/hunger when I am there! Any tips anyone on how to cope at work?

OP posts:
applecharlotte · 06/06/2010 09:43

suzym - glad the wedding went ok, even if your lie didn't work haha!

I have a paranoid question for you ladies who have had children before (I can't believe how worried I am about everything - so apologies!)

I spent 5 days feeling really sick, spacey, thirsty and tired. But in the last 2 days thats all gone and the only symptom I have is sore boobs (which I didn't have before). Is this normal - to have days feeling like my old self? Are the symptoms on and off for anyone else.

I think i'm going to go get another test to check. I really need to stop stressing myself out though!

Have a lovely sunday all..

carabee · 06/06/2010 10:56

applecharlotte - yes, its the same for me - i took a test yesterday and its still positive...
I never thought i''d be wanting to feel sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
