So many threads by so many names but this thread is a place to come after TTC after MC..

Deposit your worries in the box by the door and grab a cuppa! :-)

rhg - well done on finishing your paper!!

Gi1da - sounds like good news on your scan, I totally understand worries though, I still googled like crazy over risk rates, etc. It does sound really good though.

LilRed - I think you handled that with DD really well, it sounds just right to me.

Boodle - hope it works out with the fibroid, fingers crossed.

I am so hacked off today - here is my little rant - we have been trying to buy a house for four months now, and it keeps stalling (not our fault - just trying to get paperwork through). But the horrible cow who is the estate agent selling our flat is a right little bully and keeps calling me at work bitching about how long our house purchase is going - saying things like "it's not good enough" and "this is terrible for your purchaser" - er, HELLO, you're working for us!! And she just moans and moans about it - it's not her having to wait to buy the house it's us!! She's only trying to make her commission. And she keeps calling me "Claire" or "Caroline", neither of which are my actual name.

Hmmm, yes, the hormones are raging today.

Hope everyone else is doing ok!!

Hello hello not going to attempt namechecking as soooo much to catch up with since last week so will just pick 'n' mix the things that have stuck!

Alba fab news, really pleased for you! Another big tick, hooray hooray

LilRed also good news, congratulations and hope all goes okay with you sil, sounds hard.

WYG good to see you over on This Side, tis good fun, wheeee! Also the Flying Visitors, come and stay soon!

RHG your paper sounds really interesting, I did my masters on early medieval smith legends so am naturally very nosy interested in similar type stuff... belts are a funny one generally, I seem to recall (hints of Sir Gawain trickling through addled brain) - could the ladies at the top of the list pass theirs down as they graduate, please?

Toomuch, midwives and waiting times, grrrr. It's fine if you HAVE got the time, but most of us DON'T.

Boodle Also had to have ELCS as dd undiagnosed breech to 38 weeks (still v cross about that actually, mw SHOULD have spotted it, i KEPT telling her I was being headbutted in the stomach, end of rant). It's not so bad, and apparently much easier than an emergency cs as you get to be awake during. The hardest bit is when they stitch you back together again afterwards -also takes longest! Any questions, may be able to assist.

Everyone else, Hi and Waves and Stuff, have had a very very lazy weekend sunning ourselves without constant mamama-ing etc, brain now fried from sun, sea and swimming pool, and legs fried from 150 steps (stairs not paces) to beach. Back to humdrum mum now, ah well. But it was fun.

Oh, and somebody mentioned watermelon earlier? Had to go to Tesco (yay what fun...) and just had to buy one for myself. Have pigged nearly 1/2 in past 2 hours... damn yer eyes, whoever mentioned it . Still, at least it isn't chocolate brownies. Now there's a thought...

Unbuffy · 29/06/2010 15:14

Ps re raging hormones... cried at the end of The House At Pooh Corner while reading it to DD the other night. Don't ask. Christopher Robin went awaaaaayy boohoohoohoo

diggingforvictory · 29/06/2010 15:23

Just picked up a heartbeat with my doppler! I'm so excited!

Bunnybaby not good re sickness! I was rather hoping it would go soon. I'm finding it really difficult explaining to my toddler that mummy's ok but just needs to retch over the sink for a bit! He mimmiced me being sick the other day!

Lilred and Unbuffy, I have to have a planned section this time so will have some questions for you in a while. I was awake during the emergency one though. Maybe it depends what's happened. I already had an epidural in place when they decided to do it, so it was just a case of ramping up the drugs.

BunnyBaby · 29/06/2010 17:05

digging my toddler does the same! Saying feel sick mummy, need do a sick. Have explained a real sick would fly out at his age so not to worry, just hot / tired. Poor little ones, it confuses them doesn't it.

Got congratulated at work on my bump, I'm only 14.3 so a bit early. Keep kidding myself it's my body knowing what to do and popping it out quicker lol!

GLB hello again and sympathies onhouse move. Estate agents of our vendors are crap. Failed to get them to sign contract before holiday and failed to let them know we were delayed to a visit which made us look like we couldn't be arsed. I'm sure it will be fine but frustrating! This one also calls me cathy, the least preferred derivative of my real name! Grrr!

unbuffy hello again too!

LilRedWG · 29/06/2010 18:33

Digging - ask away.

WestYorkshireGirl · 29/06/2010 20:11

Hi All

Scan was great today !!!! Such a different experience going private. We heard the heart beat and were able to ask questions and there was a screen in the ceiling which we could both see. It wriggled about a bit which was great - can't believe I can't feel when it moves! Really pleased we went. Got some lovely photos that actually look like a baby - in one of them It is actually facing out - you can see 2 black eyes, nose and face etc and obviously the arms and legs! It's 4.1cm long! They gave a due date of 18 Jan and said I was 11 weeks today so am a bit further on. Everything feels different now! Will attempt to amend the list (hope I don't muck it up).

LadyBee · 29/06/2010 21:58

Awwww, WestYorkshireGirl, that's fab. You sound so happy

Meita · 30/06/2010 08:59

Yay WYG!

LilRedWG · 30/06/2010 12:07

WYG - that's lovely! I'm so glad everything went well.

Moofold · 30/06/2010 13:56

Hi everyone, I'm poking my head round the door with a bit of fear and trepidation. I have had lovely invites to join the thread from Clare and WYG but only got my BFP on Saturday so not making the leap quite yet.

I'm here today because I'm feeling a little frightened by my lack of symptoms and wondering if anyone else felt the same? Both times before I knew before I got a BFP because of various symptoms. This time - nada, no sore or big boobage, definitely no sickness but most of all - no achey abdominal feelings. I'm terrified this means something but also conscious that I am going to be prone to bouts of neuroticism after the MMC.

I figured you would be the best gals to ask. I know pregnancy after MC is going to be a minefield but had kind of hoped I could hold off the irrational fears until a bit later!

Haven't read through all the posts but thrilled to see your post WYG about your private scan. We had one with DD, they are brill. Delighted for you

Hope to join you all properly soon! x

malteser1981 · 30/06/2010 16:20

Moofold - lovely for you to join us! Apart from left sided achey feeling and cramps (which I still have now) I have no pregnancy symptoms at all. Zilch. Nil. Not a sausage. Was obviously convinced this meant the worst, but I know realise what a lucky girl I am!

WYG - brill news!

I have given into temptation girls - I locked myself in the scan room at work the other day! That's what you call DIY antenatal care! Won't make a habit of it...............

Goodluckbear · 30/06/2010 16:39

WYG - that sounds great!! Really pleased for you.

Moofold - welcome, and totally understand you don't want to make the leap yet. I didn't get any symptoms until over 7 weeks if that helps - no sickness until then - I just had diarrhea of all things, but I think it was something I ate!!

Malteser

I just had a midwife appointment and heard the heartbeat, that was a real relief. I kept worrying that maybe it was my heartbeat we were listening to but she said it was 149 bpm so pretty unlikely.... Relieved!!

It's hot, hot, hot out there, hope everyone is doing ok in the heat.

xxx

clareanna · 30/06/2010 16:59

moo I don't have many symptoms and am 8 weeks tomorrow. Just tiredness and am now a bit hungrier (any excuse). I did have some cramping in the days before bfp, but no nausea or throwing up at all. In the pg I lost I threw up loads, was super sensitive to smells and couldn't open the fridge without throwing up. am taking it as a sign that this bean is well behaved! Also wondered if having been pg relatively recently like you whether your body is more used to the hormone changes??? Can I just say again- am SOO chuffed for you!

wyg lovely news!
malteaser can't believe it's taken you this long to do that! I'd be at it all the time!!
glb ooh isn't heartrate an indicator of the sex?!

Moofold · 30/06/2010 17:02

Hey GLB and Malteser, good to hear from you again! That's fab news about the heartbeat GLB- its lovely to get that reassurance.

Malteser can you scan youself? That would be too much temptation! You're a midwife aren't you?

Thanks to you both for the advice. Its the dull achey cramps I am missing, had them lots both times before. I feel, to all intents and purposes, absolutely normal. Bring on the nausea, heartburn and accute sense of smell!

Moofold · 30/06/2010 17:06

Crossed posts Clare, thanks pal - that was a lovely message you left on the other thread too.

Ok, so this is good that you are symptomless too and have had lots previously. You may be right about the hormones too. Cheepz has said she had no cramping with her DS either so I'm feeling a little more reassured. A tad... I promised myself I wouldn't do this and here I am, 5 days in!!

Unbuffy · 30/06/2010 17:37

Hi Moof congratulations!

Good scan news WYG and Malteser - very chuffed for you both! Also GLB on heartbeat, it's so nice and reassuring.

Hi everyone else, quite quiet on here today really!

Only news from Camp Buff is that I got me first 'proper' kicks last night, sitting in front of t'telly and got prodded! Couldn't work out what it was at first, then got really excited. Roll on Bladder Football...

Have a great evening, am off to pig on more watermelon x

clareanna · 30/06/2010 18:08

Wonderful news unbuffy !!!

As for me- total tmi alert. Lovely gastroenteritis has left me with a pile just what every newly pregnant woman after a miscarriage needs- bright red blood when you wipe- the joy !!!

LilRedWG · 30/06/2010 18:24

clare - not nice.

everyone else though - a good day had by all.

I feel sick and tired, DD has perforated her eardrum and has tonsillitis (sp?) and I'm feeling useless with her as I have zero energy.

toomuchteaching · 30/06/2010 19:24

WYG so lovely! Has made me thoroughly impatient for Saturday!
Hahaha malteser I can't believe you've held out this long! Glad it was good though... but imagine if someone found you
clare doesn't sound fun.
Welcome moofold I didn't have anything exciting to report at your early stage, and then the tiredness kicked in. Then the nausea. I'm currently in the super-nose phase.
That's my namechecking exhausted... apologies everyone else. Have a homegrown strawberry on me. Unless they're too acidy!

So, having thought the nausea had died off towards the end of last week, I actually threw up on Monday, for the first time. No idea what brought it on, I'd been feeling much better for a few days and thought I was going to get away lightly. Now I just keep thinking it could strike at any time!

Trying another booking appointment tomorrow, want to place any bets on how long I'll wait this time?

Enjoy a lovely evening all.

Gi1da · 30/06/2010 19:41

Mooooooooooooooooooooooof! skipping around in delight that you've come to (almost) join us! There's an extra place setting for you here at the High Table of Pregnancy Paranoia & Symptom Bewilderment just for you!

PS - Symptoms? Meh Schmymptoms... pesky mind-game psycho-torture non-indicators more like.

Clarea holy moly - that is just Mother Nature T A K I N G T H E R O Y A L P I S S!!

WestY Fab news! We heart private scans. So wonderful you can relax, it is real!

And speaking of private scans... Malts shall we form an orderly queue to visit you at work??

Only thing I am looking forward to about my midwife meeting in a fortnight is the chance that she may do a heart beat thing, though I gather that they don't always do that now... Seems ages to my next scan (and is).

Sorry for lack of input this week, work has been insane, someone asked me about my holiday today and I was completely blank for a moment then thought CRAP it's only been three days back, how can it have been offset by work already?? Utter reinforced gusset pants.

So very random responses: fibroids - ouch and bugger, hope that's all ok, super news on planning permission, bunting hung out in honour of all noobs, kicks - wow!!, lack-of-symptoms / too-much-symptoms support for the randomness of it all and commiserations for boakiness, grrrrr at midwife incomprehension of the fact that women do actually haves lives and schedules, GRRRRRRRRRRR at fecking estate agents (just don't get me started, I'm still scarred from last year's house move), Medieval holy belts a go-go, hoorah for DIY inlaws, big slices of melon and cooling aromatherapy mists to our top-of-the-list ladies in this heat - SCORCHIO!

Hope everyone is well, love to all x

LadyBee · 30/06/2010 21:01

Another day ticks by...

Moof, lovely to see you here! I'm not much help, but I also have hardly any symptoms, feel completely normal most of the time. I'm desperate to find out that things are ok, and have a scan on Friday that will (please) show just that. I'm just trying to remind myself that I have No Reason to believe that things are not progressing as they should be, no cramps, no bleeding. I know anyone who has experienced a MMC (as I have) can pour doubt on that statement immediately but it's all I can suggest.

Malteser if I had access to the hoodackeys I'd be doing just the same thing.

GoodLuckBear wahey! listening to heartbeat is great. So was it 'train' or 'galloping horses'? One is boy the other girl (apparently)

oooohhhhh unbuffy kicks!! I think this is the best thing - ok, probably towards the end it's annoying but suddenly there's a reason for the hand on bump pose.

Clare 'snap' - haven't had gastro, but things been a bit sluggish here and yesterday I had the joy of finding bright red blood on the tissue paper. Fortunately I was totally clear about where it had come from so only the smallest of lurches.

Sorry about the work insanity Gi1da, I'm actually really looking forward to the next month or so as things to go quite quiet for us, we've just had the big push to finish off all the big stuff for next year, and it's going to be difficult to get meetings together with people going off on holidays so there's a chance to catch up rather start up new. Phew.

It's 9. My DH is probably just heading home after drinks. Would be so very wrong for me to scoot off to bed now?

LadyBee · 30/06/2010 21:06

will just do that list...

Hello

I was going to wait till the shiny new thread which must be starting soon, but I want some advice It's nice to recognise some names, and I've missed G1lda's posts.

I am only 5 weeks, but there is no chance on Earth I am going to wait till 13 weeks for a scan. My midwife gave some "sensible" advice about it not actually changing any outcomes, but to that. So, when is a good time for an early scan? I have read you quoting stats after early scans, like if you see a heartbeat at 8 weeks, you've got a 98% success rate etc.... Where do you get these stats from? I want the scan to be reassuring, and preferably I don't want to start panicing again straight afterwards. Yes, I know, fat chance.

Lotta123 · 01/07/2010 07:26

Here are the stats:
