Brilliant news tfls
Cant wait for my scan in two weeks(and 1 day) and pray it goes as well, im having a nuchal scan too.
Feeling pretty knackered today, my sickness seems to be easing off, which I dont know if its a good thing or not, cant help but worry.
On the subject of cats, i've got two as well, and a dog, had two dogs but one died in the new year.
Hope everyone is well anyway, anyone know whats happened to mrsRigby ? Hope she's ok.

thefatladyscreams · 23/03/2010 18:18

Thanks guys! The sonographer asked us to wait outside whilst she printed off her report so I quickly nipped to the toilet as was desperate. I would describe it as the most relieved pee I've had in my whole life!

So much for a good night's sleep last night. Woke with a weird dream about South African mercenaries knowing my due date as it was on the net - along with DH snorning! But at least I was a happy awake.

Hope the next two weeks fly past for you Effilump. My MS started to lessen at week 10 and had very little by the time of the scan. I've read that it's a sign that the placenta is taking over so don't worry [says she who posted here several times worrying herself!!]

Jollster - us moan? Never!

Meita · 23/03/2010 18:47

Ok, am going to catch up a bit. Have just decided that at the rate I'm going, I'm not getting any work done today anyway.

Freezing my PhD is, generally said, on social aspects of IVF. It has involved talking to women before, during and after IVF treatment and I'm interested in how their conceptions and expectations change and adapt throughout the process. Have met some marvellous women but sometimes the whole thing has been just a tad too close to my own experiences regarding MC and such.
I hope you are feeling better now and that things have settled a bit? Oh and... go for a cat. Seriously.

Louise 12 weeks now and counting! Keep it up! The tiredness and all... annoying and frustrating, but in the big picture I'm sure it's well worth it.

sarahlou well at least you will be eating beans on toast in a shiny big new house! Congrats on having your offer accepted, I hope it all goes well. If we get planning permission, we are going to extend. We have enough space for now, just about until the LO needs his/her own room - which doesn't yet exist.
I hope the spotting has stopped... Good for you to not be overly panicked anymore. I am in awe...

boodle I hope work has eased up a bit.
Humbug is adorable! I wish we could have a kitten... but our lazy old (and very lovely) rescue cat would NOT approve.
I am a bit about your unequivocable kick... I think I feel movement quite often now, but I still have my doubts if it's not just my digestive system rumbling about. Ah well... I guess I'd better never tell my future child that I used to confuse him/her with indigestion .

Lee thanks for opening the new thread. Your DD seems to have a seventh sense! (Or maybe she just picks up/hears more than you thought). How was your weekend in Dublin? I hope it wasn't too painful.

cheepz how is the sickness doing? Hope has stayed at acceptable levels. Not long, and you'll be all worried because it has all but gone .
Re the other thread, I think it has become so huge and fast that it has sort of lost the personal, intimate touch it used to have. Or maybe I'm just finding it harder to relate to because I've moved on emotionally.
Btw, a couple of BFPs today

amyboo Less than a week to go! How are you feeling? Did you manage to get things sorted re the shaving and baby-holding? Maybe making a fuss could help with the latter? Or enlisten your DH's help... have them give baby to him, and him give it to you "just assuming that that would be all right".

And indeed, hoops any news? Hoping for the best and starting to be a little worried. Though I do understand that she's probably got other priorities right now .

jollster good of you to drop in. How are you doing? Everything crossed for you that you can come moan with us "for real" again soon!

Effilump my sickness started easing off at that stage too. Try not to worry too much. I know it's hard... but we're all here if you need to moan a bit.
Sorry to hear about your dog. It's so sad when our pets die. Are you going to get another one?

MrsRigby Come say hello please!

becky I think my DP is going to want to wait with buying anything at all until baby has arrived... for fear of tempting fate. Between him and our lack of space it might actually turn out to be him running around shops while I'm in hospital recovering from labour !
I don't know if pregnancy brain or baby brain is worse (lack of experience)... what would everyone else say?

hi everyone!!

meita I didnt feel movement til 20 weeks first time round so dont worry! i cant wait to feel it this time though!!

TFLS yay yay yay yay we are becoming quite the lucky thread and we've nearly all got through the first scan! so delighted for you!

boo pic of kitten is gorgeous, i'm allergic to cats but i love how they look ;-)

jollster im glad you still call in.. like a few others i feel quite a stranger to the thread now but i do get the feeling that had we not picked up all these newbies that it would be a lonely place and its nice that other people are getting the comfort that we wonce did from it..

mrsR i'm going to hunt you down if you dont come on her and give us some TMI!! hope youre ok hon

cheepz as i said to you on chat the other day, there really is light at the end of the tunnel.. now i eat for fun instead of to stop me being sick lol

Well i had a lovely weekend in dublin to give nanna her final send off. we stayed in a lovely hotel and my baby girl was an absolute angel and really enjoyed the pool. she actually let us read the sunday papers over breakfast - makes me realise how we will be giving up what little peace and quiet we have all over again but sure bring it on!!

i had to give in and buy maternity trousers today at almost 13 weeks. wasnt into mat stuff til 18 weeks first time.. scary!

sorry meita i guess i just feel them early - i was early last time too, about 16-17wks i think....you just get to know the kids of feelings the more pregs you have i reckon....

i have officially started to feel better....and i tell you what it feels bloody amazing....the weight gain has slowed down {altho slightly concerned about my grandma arms but hey....}and i am not being sick at all....some days of feeling nauseaus but thats generally down to what crap i have eaten....i might start enjoying this preg after all....

working from home at the moment as getting tired midday and much easier to have a quick nap on the sofa from home....

my mum and i visited mama and papas the other day to get some maternity clothes and she ended up buying my pram/buggy combo...it was too good an offer to miss as down half price in the sale and i had my eye on a black herbie pram for the longest time....it is sitting in a big box in the corner of my lounge and i am very excited to have it done dusted and out of the way....i checked with them that if the worst were to happen they would take it back and they said absolutely....at any point. Hopefully this is just a theoretical question but i felt happier taking it knowing that it could go straight back.

not going to name check you all as i am just far too lazy BUT know that i am constantly thinking of you all and how lucky we are to have this thread.

xx

Cheepz · 24/03/2010 11:30

for some reson the other day i changed myself to something completely wrong so have updated to what i think is now right!!

nausea is all but gone now which is much better and am not fretting about it as had hardly any with DS1

'constipation spotting' is still causing me to stress though, last two days have had intermittant pink in dc, but its like a little burst capillary in the dc not totally pink dc so am trying to keep sane about it - have called dr today to talk it through though and hopefully she will have me come in so she can see if there is baby hearbeat that they can hear with the thingy - really don't want to go to epu again - it takes forever and i kind of want to wait for my scan in 3 weeks time - its 3 weeks today exactly. but its very anxiety inducing

went swimming last night which was the last thing on earth i felt like doing at the time but once I was in it was really nice just to have some alone time and also to do some light excercise, have been too scared to go on treadmill since pg

sorry for self indulgent post, glad everyone else seems to be doing ok

meita i thought i didn't feel the baby move til really late first time around then when i did feel it move i realised i had been feeling it for ages so fret not.

xx

doctor wants to see me tomorrow for examination and will then decide whether to send me to EPU for another scan .... am starting to think another scan would be ok from a reassurance perspective

spotting appears to have stopped (no surprise since i had my big business of the day this morning! - tmi - sorry - esp to those still nauseous)

i am such a wuss

Meita · 24/03/2010 13:40

Good day everyone! Glad that the day has caught up with the list...

Lee I guess you just need to enjoy it while it lasts! Sounds like you've moved on to "blooming" times, great that your DD is playing along
I haven't officially told everyone yet, I don't know why I keep postponing... I often wear loose tops anyway, and in winter with several layers, that makes it really easy to hide the emerging bump (also the fact that I never was skinny to begin with). I guess the thing is, the whole baby business feels so out of context here. It's like, something important to me but why should everybody else care? As if, say, my parents were getting divorced - I would tell some close people but I wouldn't send round an e-mail to everyone "officially" informing them... it just feels weird. But as some people know and news tends to travel quickly, probably many more know than I've officially told... I'm sure that when I do "come out", everybody will just say "oh I was wondering when you'd get around to telling us".

boodle absolutely no call to apologize - LOL - on the contrary - mostly I'm just thrilled for you, as, surely, feeling boodlebean move must be a good sign and so reassuring!
And glad to hear you are feeling so much better. Before all this malarky, I never knew how good the simple absence of something like continuously feeling sick can feel.

cheepz Good for you for feeling positive about lack of nausea! The spotting would freak me out too... I hope you can get some reassurance from your Dr.
Have now bought myself a maternity tankini and am looking forward to loads of soaks in warm seawater in upcoming holidays. Everybody says swimming is great during pregnancy, glad to hear you thought so too!

Becky Further to what I wrote yesterday, DP last night actually SAID "don't worry about prams/buggies/strollers... I'll go out and get one while you are in hospital" I think what he might actually be worried about, is feeling helpless - by postponing everything, he can at least do something while I'm engaged with the important business of bearing a baby . Luckily it will be between terms so he will have plenty of time too.

List I was staring at the list and there seems to be something decidedly wrong... how come TFLS, due 29th Sept, can be 13+6, when Lee, due 30th Sept, is due 12+6?

I cried through most of OBEM last night. It was about the neonatal ICU... such tiny, tiny babies, so unwell, but fighting every day... their poor parents, never knowing if their LO would survive. DP went all quiet too (I make him watch with me) and said afterwards "Let's just hope this doesn't happen to us" (usually his response to something tragic on TV is more likely to be "well, life is tough, you just have to deal with it")

Procrastination This is it.

Cheepz · 24/03/2010 14:00

spotting is back and I haven't even done a poo. maybe from the swimming, might be irritated cervix from earlier was just lurking inside and working out - but its the most there has been ....sigh, worry, scowl .. and have to wait until tomorrow before can do anything about it - I am going to defo ask for a scan now.

Meita · 24/03/2010 14:41

Aw cheepz. Any chance you can take it really, really easy until tomorrow? I have everything crossed for you. I soooo hope it proves to be nothing to worry about.

thefatladyscreams · 24/03/2010 16:22

Hi will catch up properly later (meant to be working) but saw Cheepz' post.

Hopefully it's nothing. Could easily be the exercise of swimming has dislodged anything left over and you've got all the spotting out of the way (IYKWIM). But know how horrible the anxiety is - lots of virtual hand holding for you xxx

Cheepz · 24/03/2010 17:27

spotgate update (big tmi warning)

no spotting last time went for loo (phew)

however

did take hand mirror and have a look just to check nothing 'unusual' going on

there is something 'unusual' going on.

as you know have been having a few problems with my BMs in the morning, well it would appear I might have pushed so hard that it has caused some kind of prolapse there are bits i can see where there shouldn't be any bits IYSWIM, and it could be that all the frantic wiping is causing irritation and bleeding on these bits which combined with the straining is causing capillaries to go left right and centre. hence the spotting

apparently very common after vaginal birth and after big bubbas and mine was a vaginal ten and a half pounder so i think that counts as large.

or it could be the mental number of times i wipe every time i go just to 'be sure' is actually causing some irritation.

anyway has reassured me that there could be a number of causes of spotting given everything not exactly normal 'downstairs' so will discuss with the doctor tomorrow

thanks for keeping an eye. my gut feeling is the bleeding is nothing to worry about in terms of the pregnancy (cheepz touches a million pieces of wood) but hopefully tomorrow we might get to the bottom of it. i am going to ask the doctor to do an examination and i am going to ask for a scan referal to the EPU - best clear my diary for 3 hours tomorrow morning!

thefatladyscreams · 24/03/2010 17:43

Phew - what a relief. Ten and a half sounds massive to me!

DH has told me that he is going to buy me a wooden necklace as I say "touch wood" so often now.

Sounds like you can relax. Hope you get a scan asap so you can see mini-cheepz and put your mind completely at rest!

louisesh · 24/03/2010 18:01

Hi all hope all are well.Only a short post as soo tired work a NIGHTMARE at the moment no staff awful..... Can i just add i m actually 12 weeks, 5 days today thanks.

Well another scan tomorrow hopefully i ll be less nervous having had 2 good scans [well thats the theory!!!!]

Love to all X

boodleboot · 24/03/2010 19:14

cheepzy - i bleed everytime i have a poo and just don't think you can count this as proper spotting...you will fine chick.

BUT what a great opportunity to see minicheepz on screen again....enjoy that won't you. xxx

Jacanne · 24/03/2010 19:27

Cheepz I really hope that everything settles down for you and that the doctor is reassuring tomorrow. I had to check twice when I read the weight of your baby - ten and a half pounds? Wow, I had enough trouble with my 7lb babies!

Louisesh Good luck with your scan tomorrow. It will be lovely to see how your baby is changing on the screen.

LeeWT I'm glad your weekend was ok and you got to read the sunday papers. We are really going to notice the difference with a baby... I had to buy maternity trousers for work at 8 weeks . In the first two weeks I put on 3lbs and my belly just popped out the front. I have a fairly noticable bump now and struggle to keep it covered up at school! You are really lucky to stay in your own clothes 'til 13 weeks, I look longingly at my tailored trousers that don't do up as I'm getting dressed in the mornings! Where did you shop, I was surprised at how little maternity clothing I could find?

Boodle I am really pleased that you are feeling better, you are a way ahead of me, but at least there's hope! Congratulations on the pram purchase, we did have a little look at prams at the weekend too, but it was all a bit overwhelming so we stopped!

Sarahlou I think that ages ago you might have asked me about when I was going to tell our DD's. I may have not replied.... We actually told them when I was around 7 weeks. We went away for the weekend and I was quite unwell. With all of us in the ajoining rooms and me looking quite green around the gills we gave in and told them. They have been fab. They haven't told anyone (which is a miracle) and have been so excited. They talk about the baby all the time and have been really looking after me. I am very lucky...

I know I said it before but is MrsR ok? She was a prolific poster when I mc'd back in December and I'm a bit worried about her as she has been so quiet and wasn't having a great time. Anyone seen her posting on other threads?

Everyone Else Sorry for not mentioning you all by name, I know I can be a hopeless mner sometimes. I hope you are all well, SB x

boo do you really! thats such a relief - i keep wondering if i am kidding myself and its not really the poo thing at all ... i agree though not like proper spotting

have read it on the internet but the doctor sounded surprised!

thanks god you are all here ladies - who else could i talk to about my big poo induced spotting and potentially collapsing vagina!

Hoops We cross posts so I lost my day again! Have updated the list that you added. Really sorry to hear that your labour is so laboured, how lousy. You must just be beside yourself. With DD #2 someone told me that eating pineapple can induce labour. Now, I'm not saying that it definately works, only that it worked a treat for me. I ate all of the flesh of one pineapple, it made the inside of my mouth feel disgusting, but there, the price you pay! Baby was born less than a day later. Obviolusly is just a tale, but I thought I'd hshare just in case it might help (of course you may have heard everyone's tales, in which case I'm sorry). Good luck hun, it won't be much longer now and you'll be holding your baby...SB
