So many threads by so many names but this thread is a place to come after TTC after MC..

Deposit your worries in the box by the door and grab a cuppa! :-)

Welcome Muser to the white-knuckle ride that is post mc pregnancy! And i thought the ups and downs of TTC were bad!

And HUGE congratulations to Jolls since I know you'll probably swing by at some stage.

Meita - how unbearably awful must that be. I now feel down too

Currently empathising with all those in the 'uncontrollable-crying corner'. I spent the whole of Sunday there. Actually I was in bed pretending the rest of the world didn't exist. If chocolate works, do it. Iced buns rescued me yesterday. The Lion King might work too in a cathartic sort of way - I always bawl my eyes out but find it oddly life-affirming.

ToomuchT - glad I'm not the only one suffering from the vivid dreams. Only a couple of mc ones thankfully, but no less unsettling and it takes the whole morning to shake it off.

Good luck tomorrow happy and great news about the scan sparkly!

Went for my booking in appt yesterday. Really wasn't a great deal of point. MW just copied everything across onto new forms. Didn't even bother to take my blood pressure! Still it's nice to be in the system. Just my 12 week scan next Friday to worry about now - which just about wipes out next week in terms of doing anything productive.

Unbuffy · 22/06/2010 17:07

Just thought I'd drop in and mention that I too keep having very vivid dreams... often of an XXX-rated nature... I believe this is a side-effect of pregnancy...

LadyBee · 22/06/2010 23:18

hi ladies, I'm feeling a bit quiet at the moment, reading but not posting a huge amount. Just keeping head down and trying to get through the weeks before next scan.

Meita, one of my old NCT group experienced a similar loss a few weeks ago. It's very disturbing for everyone, and just heartbreaking for the couple of course.

BunnyBaby · 23/06/2010 11:08

Congratulations to BUnder Jollster and Muser!

Just popping my head round the door, I didn't know this thread was here until I saw Alba's signpost.

Some may remember I had touching a MMC at 11+2 which we found out about at 12 week scan in Jan.

Was thrilled to get BFP in April. And naturally was a little nervous going for scan this morning, but all was well we have a strong, healthy, busy baby in there.

To our surprise I am 13+4 not 12+5 so now due on Christmas Day. However DS1 was a whopping 17 days late so I am not expecting anything to happen before the Epiphany on the 6th Jan. Ha ha!

At least I feel less guilty about porking out!

Just want to wave a little flag that I've made it past 12 weeks. Especially as last time was so close, yet so far.

BunnyBaby · 23/06/2010 11:11

Just tried to update list on iPhone which is useless. Could I be added?

BunnyBaby #3 13+4 due 25th Dec

BunnyBaby · 23/06/2010 13:28

Thanks Alba just looked and it's your scan next :-) xxx

diggingforvictory · 23/06/2010 13:50

Welcome Bunnybaby and congratulations!

No news here either. I'm just trying to keep this pregnancy quiet until after the 12 week scan. Very hard since my bump looks about 6 months already. I didn't even get a bump until 5 months last time!

louisesh · 23/06/2010 15:15

Hi all "Newbies" WElcome XX

Can someone just adjust my dates on the list..... I m actually 25 weeks 5 days today not 26 weeks!!! Ta

Hope everyones well....im ok too hot for work......Growing in to my "fat" uniforms,,,,Will post later off to watch the football its soo nerve wracking!!!

Congrats to anyone whos "survived" their scans!!!!!

Meita · 23/06/2010 16:09

Welcome Muser and BunnyBaby, congrats on your BFP/successful scan! I think this thread is a great place to come to after the "TTC after MC" thread because everyone understands how scary it is and how hard it can be (and you know half the people already). I hope you find it as supportive as I did in the early days and still do now! BunnyBaby, you can be DD-buddies with Gi1da

Redheadgal and others, didn't mean to make anyone sad, and hesitated about posting at all. I personally know three people who had stillbirths and it freaks me out... but these sad things won't go away if no-one talks about them and all the taboo around it makes it all the more difficult for those who suffer such losses.

Definitely with you all on the vivid dreams front! The other day I dreamt that the baby was moving up instead of down and its hands had reached my mouth! I had to gently push them down again, but they kept coming back up...

Louise Good to hear from you. Yeah I know what you mean about the heat... normally I love it when it's hot but right now it just makes everything difficult. Hey, but the good news is you've reached "viability", congrats for that!

I wonder how LeeWT and MrsRigby are, they haven't posted for ages. Hope everything is alright.

Well I'm signing off again (should be doing some work), fingers crossed for upcoming scans. It would just be so great if we could keep the positive scan ball rolling

waves to all

WestYorkshireGirl · 23/06/2010 16:15

Hello. I didn't know about this thread and as I know so many of you, please can I join?!

I see I need to add some stats:
Baby no 1
9 weeks + 4
EDD 25 Jan 2011

Unbuffy · 23/06/2010 16:23

Hello to all newbies - Congrats and welcome to the rollercoaster!

Hello to everyone else, mad waves but no namechecking today...

and good luck to ALBA for Friday, got everything crossed for you.

Feeling mucho better today, so am posting newly invented recipe which might help with the heat:
Strawberry milkshake:
Put frozen strawberries, a little bit of sugar (to taste) and milk (pref. whole) in the blender. Blend and drink all at once.
mmmmmm...

See you after the weekend, ladies, as we are going on our toddler-free breakski! Have a lovely one. x

Muser · 23/06/2010 16:57

Hello all, thanks for the welcome. Lovely to see so many familiar names.

I am still a bit stunned about the whole thing. But at least slightly able to concentrate today. I have been feeling a bit sick if I go too long without eating. And I have been feeling crazily hungry as well. These are probably just imaginery and excuses for being a greedy thing.

Booked to see the GP on Friday. I'm hoping for fast referral for blood tests and an early scan. I am meant to be scanned at 6 weeks to rule out another ectopic. If the GP is at all rubbish I'll just have to go back to the EPU, they said they would do it. MrM doesn't want to tell any family until after the 6 week scan. But I might burst before then. It's so hard not phoning my sister!

SamanthaB123 · 23/06/2010 17:23

Hello Everyone,

Quick update on my hospital appointment...

I have had a really frustrating time with the NHS...I had a kidney scan on Monday and the sonographer was the rudist woman I have ever met. We asked her if we could see the screen and if she could explain what she was doing. She said "No I can't talk because I am formulating something in my mind". She ignored us for the entire time she was scanning me and then announced that I have some kind of benign thing on my right kidney but it's nothing to be concerned about. And then we left. No follow up appointment, no explanation, nothing. We were livid. We walked straight to obstetrics and insisted that we saw someone who could explain the results of the scan. We got a consultant appointment the following day. He was lovely and very apologetic but the whole thing left a bad taste and we are not going to have the baby at that hospital. The care has been so disjointed, had I actually been really ill I could have slipped through the net so easily. The upshot is that I don't have an serious illnesses and we may never know what caused the pain. If it happens again I am to go straight to hospital.

I haven't read the thread properly before posting so I know there are newbies but haven't read all the info yet. Just off out to collect DD's - welcome and I'll namecheck later!

SB x

louisesh · 23/06/2010 20:10

Hi *MEITA" hope you re well?

Thanks REDHEADGAL for amending my dates.Welcome WYG

clareanna · 23/06/2010 20:33

Big waves to muser bunny and WYG - lovely to see you here!

samantha - "formulating something in my mind" possibly the best phrase I've ever heard - hope you said "yes, I'm formulating something in my mind now too" sorry you got such poor care, but on the positive side I'm glad to hear it's nothing serious

unbuffy chin up and a big hug - sorry you're feeling run down at the moment.

I'm OK - had gastroenteritis from friday - tues which has left me totally knocked out. Wasn't sure hat was tummy bug and what was pg symptoms. Now I feel better I have very few symptoms, so am naturally panicking, even though I only had a scan on friday and all was FINE. next scan is in 3 weeks time and I just have to get through a scary assessment centre for work first. Am currently supposed to be practising my numberical reasoning (which is nil) but procrastinating on MN instead. Ho hum...

ice cold drinks and a handsome man with a palm leaf to fan you to all those at the top of the list who must be loving the heat!

alba best of luck for friday - will be thinking of you

WestYorkshireGirl · 23/06/2010 20:53

Hi All

Thanks red for adding me to the list, but I did chuckle and being called WestYorkshireGril instead of Girl .

I see other people have been feeling a bit iffy. Most of the queasiness has passed, but am just still very tired and hungry all the time. Have been eating loads of home made flapjack which feels better than crisps and biccies .

Had an early scan at 7 weeks after some bad pain and a visit to A&E and was reassured by heart beat, but it seems ages until 14 July for the 12 week one. Been thinking some gloomy thoughts and feeling a bit low for a few days - I am guessing it's hormonal.

HappyGirl1 · 23/06/2010 21:07

More newbies! Thats great - WElcome!

Unbuffy enjoy your weekend away!

Had our 16 wk MW appt today, I was expecting her to listen to the heartbeat but she didn't even try. Does anyone know if that's normal?

Hello everyone. Giant congrats to bunny re scan and hello and congrats to WYG and muser. Sorry if I've missed anyone else who's had good scan news or BFPs.

I also have been keeping a low profile, partly because I have been feeling very sick and so unbelievably tired, and partly because (being such an optimist) I was just convinced something bad was going to happen.

But we had a scan yesterday (combined nuchal and bloods) and all looked well. It was so weird to see a REAL baby with a beating heart and jumping around, waving his/her arms. Unbelievable. I'm a bit further on than I thought too 13 weeks 4 days and due boxing day.

I'm going to attempt to add myself to the list, at last. Waves and happy days to all.

For those feeling emotional, sick and tired, it's grim but I think it's just part of it. I think you have to give in to it rather than try to fight it. Initially, I tried everything to get rid of the nausea - ginger, peppermint, some herbal stuff, eating little and often - but I'm not convinced anything actually works.

Meant to say earlier, Meita - that is heartbreaking/terrifying news re the woman on the August thread. Just awful.

How did I miss this thread? I'm 5+3, have one DD aged three, had a MC at about 5 weeks last year.

Though with DD I didn't get any symptoms until about 7-8 weeks, I'm slightly concerned at my lack of MS, though my sense of smell is far sharper and I've been a little queasy at times but that's about all.

Part of me wants an early scan, a large part of me feels quite positive though...
