very best of luck for tomorrow Sparkly, I'm nervous enough already for mine on Friday, can imagine how you must be feeling now...

Though we're on a roll of good scans... which is great for everyone

sorry you're not doing so well SamB and Boodle, hope things improve for you both soon...

Wish my scan was tomorrow as although DH and the few colleagues I've told say I don't show I really want some comfy work trousers - have old mat jeans and leggings which are bliss but nothing suitable for work and refuse to buy new mat clothes till after Friday (bit supersticious) so it's normal stuff held up with hair bobbles and frequent laundry for longest baggiest tops.....

Hope the dress held up Unbuffy and the meringues went down well... Mmmm home cooking, might just revisit that if I have a full year's mat leave this time (daydreaming and getting a little ahead of myself there )

Gilda hope you remembered to pack that waterproof (or that the weather slightly better in Cornwall than here)

Brian pretty much deserted me just now so can't namecheck all, but congrats on milestones passed, hairstrokes to all approaching any, and here's to a lovely happy week on the thread xx

AlbaDeTamble · 20/06/2010 16:48

Oops, crossed posts there... List takes forever on phone! Hello LadyBee, good to see someone else around!

LadyBee · 20/06/2010 17:01

Hello!

New Zealand didn't lose against Italy My DH is tearing up

We're having painter/decorators in this week so have been emptying out cupboards and packing into boxes. Discovered my stash of maternity clothes and was pleasantly surprised with what was there. But work clothes are a struggle at the best of times I find. Fortunately I work in female-dominated profession and about 1/3 of workforce seems to be pregnant at any time so people are used to seeing bumps in all manner of clothing.

Just had friends round for lunch, she's 33 weeks pg and looking forward to her maternity leave starting...oh how I long for maternity leave .

Alba you must be feeling good to have got to 12 weeks. I hope the waiting for the scan doesn't make the week pass too slowly for you.

diggingforvictory · 20/06/2010 17:40

Alba I'm jealous you're still in normal clothes! I pulled out the maternity stuff this week because I can't stand anything even vaguely tight around my tummy. My maternity jeans are falling down though!

boodleboot · 20/06/2010 18:03

hi ladies...

ladybee...yep im in bexleyheath but have elected to go to qe this time as superstitiously didnt want to be scanned by the queen marys ladies again after last yrs mmc and then the horrific ectopic care i received there....what was qe birth experience like? (well done on scan great news woop woop!)

i am feeling bit more rested by pretty peturbed by DHs total lack of sexual intent!! he thinks i look beautiful wiv bump but the baby is totally putting him off his ahem, stride shall we say! sorry if tmi girls...

i am being rescanned on 2nd july to see size of bubs and fibroid...have finally allowed myself to buy some clothes for a baby amd we have selected our names and DH has closed the list!! very happy and excited wiv the choices...omg...i am having a baby!!!!

congrats on the scan and hb news to those who had them this wk...sorry for vaguries but am on mobile....

Effilump · 21/06/2010 10:47

Good morning everyone. Its getting hard to keep up with everyone on here now, theres loads of us, but thats good news too.
Good luck for everyone with scans coming up.

Redheadgal · 21/06/2010 11:13

Hello ladies. Hope you all had a good weekend. Not been on here for a while and got a lot of catch up on. 'Fraid I'm not even going to attempt to name check all - sorry

Will just say a couple of things: Clareanna - great news about your scan and hb; LadyB - hang in there hon, the scan's looking good for your dates. SamB - you sound so miserable sweetie - I really hope you feel better soon!

Off for my booking in appointment this afternoon -wahey! Although I didn't really like this midwife last time. Still what with the move and all, she won't be my midwife much longer. Still feeling slightly nauseous, utterly dog-tired and my hormones are yoyo-ing about the place. Also FREEZING COLD! Anyone else feeling the cold? I read that body temperature was supposed to rise, but I'm spending my days wrapped in blankets eating caramel digestives

Happy Monday all!

diggingforvictory · 21/06/2010 15:18

Hi Redhead, I'm freezing too. I was wearing a thermal vest, t shirt and jumper yesterday when everyone else was in t shirts.

HappyGirl1 · 21/06/2010 16:33

Good Afternoon Ladies,

Hope you are all doing well and best of luck to anyone with scans today. Really sorry but not feeling great myself today so don't have the energy to name check but will do tomorrow for definite.

Feel bad staying off work today but had to put the baby first. Feeling much better now though but just going to take it easy.

Boodleboot - my DH is the same, he's always complimenting me all the time but never really pushes for BD at the moment, he says it's cos I need my rest etc which is super lovely of him but I do feel bad though too. He's being amazing. Aren't we lucky with our DH/DP's?

Have a lovely evening ladies,

HappyGIrl

Unbuffy · 21/06/2010 17:05

Hi there

Happy scan news , congrats Clareanna and keeping everything crossed for Ladybee - I do think that the doctor made an odd choice sending you for a scan - what did he expect to see ezactly? Grr, doctors. But all IS looking well for your dates, and you can continue optimistic for now until the next, and hopefully more helpful, scan.

Samb sending best for you feeling better - I hope they find a way to help you soon. It's horrid not knowing quite what's going on and having to deal with pain at the same time (especially on paracetamol which imo are pretty useless when dealing with bad stuff).

Hope all went well and was sparkly today, Sparkly, awaiting news!

Feeling sympathy for all the cold folks, may snuggle up with you in that big blanket you're hogging as have been cold since day 1 - in fact that was how I suspected I was pregnant in the first place. 2 duvets on the bed on my side - dh has a sheet!

Party went fine this weekend, brill band and some dancing not a pretty sight. Am now totally wiped due to a) getting everything ready on Saturday and b) taking it all down again yesterday. Plus pg, plus toddler, plus late night on Saturday, plus lack of more sleep generally. Dress stayed on -almost too well, I have boob tape burns where the blo*dy stuff refused to come off!!

Am currently in weird state of exhaustion/depression. Feel like I spend my whole time doing stuff for other people and have no time for myself at all, slightly concerned by this state. Have been here before, it never has a good result.

Handing out vast bucket of leftover strawberries - all meringues went very fast I'm afraid - but am beginning to look like a strawberry...

sparklyrainbow · 21/06/2010 21:13

Good news from me, all ok and bean seems to have had a bit of a growth spurt as I was dated at 12+5! In a very awkward position for most of my scan (reminded us both of our dog!) and didn't want to cooperate but did eventually decide to move around a bit to say hello. Had a ridiculous amount of blood taken as I am at the Rosie in Cambridge and am taking part in a research study (the plus points being I get a couple of extra scans) but on the plus side sickness has faded. I won't say gone yet just in case!

Alba hope your scan goes well on Friday

Boodle and Happy (hope you feel better soon), my DH is the same too, so much for being newly married (but quite glad too!) SamB hope you feel better soon, take care and really hope you're not going into school! Fingers crossed Ladybee and hope booking in went well RHG Digging have one maternity skirt now which is bliss, may need to invest in some more...

Monday's list below and help yourself to Terry's Chocolate Orange (one of the few sweet things I want to eat at the moment and down to £1 each in Tesco). Go on, or I'll eat it all myself....

Congrats Sparkly -- good to see the run of happy scans continuing, really happy for you

Good to hear the weekend went well Unbuffy though sorry to hear you're feeling down. I know the feeling all too well that it's all give (I have 3 stepchildren here half the time, DS is only two, and I work full time... I may not be up to your domestic skills but it's still all go and all give here) and I was really down with it a while ago. Huge sympathies, I know it feels awful. Sounds like you've been through it before and hopefully have some coping mechanisms; for what it's worth, and at risk of telling you what you already know, I found learning to say no occasionally (however hard that may be at first) and learning to tell everyone you're tired and you need to sleep for the afternoon, or go out to the hairdresser, or shop on your own or other similar lovely selfish thing, really helped me (once I got over worrying about all the stuff that wouldn't get done sometimes, surprisingly, the slack does unexpectedly get taken up by others). But doubly hard to do when the hormones are racing very best of luck.

This morning, all I want to do is cry. Possibly because all my symptoms (bar tiredness and feeling fat) have gone, and I'm petrified for Friday..... I'm not even feeling cold any more - I most definitely had that one too - really confused me as I was sure you're supposed to be hotter than usual not the other way round - maybe it's a first trimester thing? I had very few early symptoms with DS, this time it's so different.

Anyway - off to get some work done and try not to obsess and mope... I know the odds are well and truly on my side now and I should be happy, but there's still that horrid nagging doubt.

check in on the other thread -- really fab news over there this morning! I'm all cheered up!!

toomuchteaching · 22/06/2010 09:54

Hi all, not much to add I'm afraid. No symptoms here apart from total tiredness, which earned me a bit of complaining from DH about how he's having to do everything at the moment. I do feel bad but I literally can't drag myself from the sofa. But apart from that it's all quiet, so am worrying, and 3rd July is still so far away. booking appointment on Thursday though, so maybe I'll get prodded a bit.

Brill stuff sparkly, such a good run of scans.

Chin up Alba and have a big wodge of chocolate orange. It's not too long to go now and things sound fine... I think crying might be an actual symptom! It's so hard though isn't it, I just can't concentrate on anything except for worrying. Glad the dress stayed up unbuffy, but sorry you're feeling down running around after everyone. Time to take a stand and demand a bit of selfishness?

Is anyone else having the most vivid dreams at the moment? Seriously they're epic. But I had one on Sunday night about mc and it was so real that I got up and ran to the bathroom. It was just horrible. I hope it's not my body telling me something.

Sorry not to be cheerier, this pregnancy lark is so bloody emotional. Have a lovely day all, enjoy the sunshine.

Morning

In the blue random crying corner with Alba, most definately. Big hugs for scan friday coming your way missus, and also very chuffed about the new pozzies on t'other side.

Well done, Sparkles, it's all downhill now (apparently)!!

Had a bit of a collapsaroony yesterday shortly after posting (but nothing to do with posting, obv) and blacked out breifly... what fun. dh was brill and looked after me and took over dd-patrol but he's working today and am still wobbly so generally grumpy and unhappy and feeling sorry for self. Ah well. Praps its just one of those days...

AlbaDeTamble · 22/06/2010 11:44

Sounds like you're having a really tough time Unbuffy -- if you start feeling faint today, make sure you collapse on the sofa with a large bar of chocolate (for the iron and the sugar) before you pass out and let your DD watch CBeebies with you for a while... I love CBeebies, has been my saviour on a few occasions recently. That and the Madagascar DVD

Unbuffy · 22/06/2010 12:29

Do feel a Lion King afternoon coming on... NAAAAAA-savenjaaaaa... (dd is at that thinks-she's-a-lion stage)... Just seems wrong in the sunshine somehow!

HappyGirl1 · 22/06/2010 13:58

unbuffy you poor thing.. take it really really easy.. I like Alba's recommendation of some chocolate! I'm thinking I might need some myself soon, I came back to work today cos cold and throat much better but my head is just pounding the whole day and feel absolutely shattered. Still good to have symptoms etc.

Got my 16 week MW appt tomorrow - had such a busy weekend with 4 lots of visitors to entertain that I just didn't have time to worry but now it's kicked in. Fingers crossed all is okay with baby.

TooMuch - dreams are gone crazy ever since like week 4! Absolutely crazy crazy dreams - some about people I haven't even met in years - absolutely random and super vivid!

Alba symptoms do come and go.. really really hope the week goes by quickly for you before your appointment and hope it all goes well. It's so scary though when symptoms do disappear but I tend to find they come back with a vengance then!

Sparkly congrats on the great scan and how fab your baby had a growth spurt! That's great news.

Okay well I'm off to somehow wake up now!

Hello everyone. I'm not quite ready to properly graduate yet. But I did get my BFP today. Seeing the doc on Friday so I can get booked in for a 6 week scan to make sure this one is in the right place and doing what it ought to. Until then I am remaining a little cautious (in theory, in practice I'm giddy with excitement). I so want this one to work out!

AlbaDeTamble · 22/06/2010 14:57

Lovely to see you here Muser, welcome to the world of nervous excitement!

Meita · 22/06/2010 15:24

Hi all,
looking forward to busy times with a few newcomers on here And a notable "returner" too!

Sam, Alba, Boodle and everyone else who is having a hard time, I hope it eases up soon.

I have been a bit down lately, as a lady on the "due August" thread (where I lurk but don't post) has just lost her little girl, at 32 weeks. So sad. Kind of puts all the little niggles and complaints of being pregnant into perspective. Makes me very appreciative of the kicks and wriggles I was complaining about just a few days ago.

Had my last day of money-earning work today, now I'm "only" a student who needs to write a few chapters of a PhD thesis before the baby arrives.

Unbuffy · 22/06/2010 15:32

GO MUSER WOOT WOOT WOOT!

HappyGirl1 · 22/06/2010 16:00

Muser - WELCOME!! I remember you from the other thread - that's great news!!

Meita that's so so sad about the lady losing her baby at 32 weeks, that's just heartbreaking.
