Good Morning ladies

Best of luck to hoops and amy, so looking forward to seeing some new baby names on our safe arrival list!

cheepz thinking of you today, Im so glad you have good support, and when you're ready, the nest egg will be spent in a very productive way! Thinking of you, and sending lots of virtual hugs

Hope all of you lovely ladies are well, still impatiently waiting for my 12 week scan date to come through, and bemoaning the bloody awful weather, we're planning on taking the DCs to Camelot on Friday, not so sure about the wisdom of that now!

Meita · 31/03/2010 10:23

hoops good luck today! Will be waiting to hear your news!

cheepz I hope things go smoothly for you too. Am thinking of you.

Unbuffy "I'm driving" is a good one, though doesn't work for me as I don't drive... You could say you're detoxing, you've got to do something later for which you need to be sober, you're on a diet and just found out how many calories there are in alcohol, ...
When you're with someone at a function or such, you can take a glass every now and then when offered, hold on to it for a while, and later pass it on to your co-conspirator...
But mostly I think, don't worry about it too much!
Re feeling tired all the time... you can easily tell people you're feeling under the weather, perhaps you caught a bug? And then make sure you get lots of early bedtimes!
HTH

Freezingmyarseoff · 31/03/2010 12:40

cheepz I'm so sorry to hear about your loss.

I also have some bad news as I miscarried on Sunday. I'm feeling very empty and down, and part of me is trying to not to think about it at all as I can't really take it in.
I haven't been on here for a while, and I was planning to catch up with everyone properly on Monday but events have taken over a bit.
I will be back later when I have a bit more time and energy, but hope all is okay for everyone else.

Meita · 31/03/2010 13:01

Oh Freezing, so very sorry to hear that.

We all know that MCs "happen" but somehow it seems so very unfair when they happen to people who have already gone through so much.

I hope you have caring people around you who will give you all the support you need to get through this.

emmielou81 · 31/03/2010 14:43

Oh freezing Im so very, very sorry to hear your sad news What a terrible thing for you, and so very unfair I hope you can take time for yourself to try and rest and absorb everything, and you have lots of love and support from those closest to you. DomesticG0ddess · 31/03/2010 19:06

Freezing, very sorry to read your news.

Cheepz · 31/03/2010 20:46

hi all - just to let you know it went fine and i am fine, cathartic and glad that its over and now time for some time off before trying again as i need a womb lining back!

going to use the monitor to track cycle and going to have all the tests that nhs are now willing to give me and use insurance for the tests they wont at a private clinic

in my heart of hearts I know there is nothing wrong though that they can fix and its a matter of time and mother nature being kind.

thanks for all kindness and support, like jolls i am going to be in and out to track your progress and taunt you with my indulgence in lattes, wine, blue cheese and sushi

freezing I know where you are and how you feel and I can only say I am so sorry, its hard, it will get better but noone can tell you when. xxx much love to you and yours.

thefatladyscreams · 31/03/2010 21:20

Freezing - oh god, that is so unfair. So sorry to hear your news. It must still be sinking in. Hope you're getting loads of support - we're all here for you for what it's worth.

Cheepz - so glad you've got it over with. You taunt away - sending you a virtual glass of rather nice sauvingnon blanc to get your started! Here's to your luck changing RIGHT NOW xxx

Hugs to you both.

Freezingmyarseoff · 31/03/2010 21:35

Thank you for your kind messages of support. I think I will stick around for a bit if you don't mind, you're a lovely group of people.

Cheepz thank you for the update, I'm glad for you that you found it cathartic and that it's now over. You sound calm and your outlook gives me hope and puts things into perspective - so thank you.
I forgot about sushi, so I'll think I'll track some down asap.

I have a very supportive family, and DD has just started to say "mummy" properly and is very proud of herself. She also thinks that saying mummy has to come hand in hand with a big hug from me - something I'm certainly not going to dispute so I've had her hugging me all day.

Meita been meaning to reply for ages about your PhD. It sounds really interesting but I can understand that it could be a bit close to your heart for comfort. Good luck with it and more importantly good luck with the scan

sorry not to name check everyone else but am looking forward to hearing about amy and hoops

Hello,
freezing and cheepz I hope you are holding up. It's a tough time, and the grief can kick in unexpectedly... I'm in awe at your positive outlook cheepz. Freezing, of course, do hang about as long as it feels right to you.

Boodle I love your girl name... (sorry, not snooping after you, just chanced across your thread). Our baby will need an r-free name, as I can't pronounce the letter "r" properly, especially in German; and as our families are all Swiss German, it matters that the name makes sense in both languages.

Lee is your scan coming up? All the best for it! Everything crossed!

My 20w-scan today was fine. I had been just a teeny bit worried, as recently I somehow haven't been feeling pregnant anymore. I've been forgetting my multivits (forgot them more often in the last 10 days than in the previous year!), I nearly forgot about the scan... But accordingly I wasn't very worried at all, because my mind was simply otherwise occupied.
And it turned out that everything is as it should be, which is obviously very good news! Placenta is anterior which makes it hard to hear baby's heartbeat (we listen in by stethoscope, but have never heard anything obvious yet) and explains why I'm never sure of feeling kicks etc. yet. But I'm not complaining!
Next thing I'm looking forward to is a great, 16-days holiday in Mauritius, it's a bit like a honeymoon except that we're not married The sun is shining and I'm feeling good.
But now I have to get back to work... pressing deadlines, once again.

louisesh · 01/04/2010 13:07

Yeh MEITA thats fabulous news i m assuming you know the sex from your "cryptic" message above!!!!

Mauritius sounds fabulous? Lucky you....We re uming and arhing about booking a week abroad....But [i know this sounds crazy] just feel safer to stay in the U.k.Soo think we ll book again for Thoresby hall [a gorgeous stately home] in Nottingham not the same as our cruise but there you go!!!!!

Oh , i forgot also got a weekend in Derby booked who says i don t know how to live the high life!!!!

Just had my last injection YEH!!!!!!!!Now to pack for Edinburgh.

Hi to all

MrsRigby · 01/04/2010 21:19

Fucking bastard obstetrician.

DH and I were planning a holiday to Barbados in June - obstetrician told me I can't fly until 6 months after I've given birth.

Can't have a home birth, can't go on holiday - what next?

DH is being more supportive regarding the birth, he still want's me in hospital, but is talking about going private and hiring a doula.

I asked the obstetrician about whether any tests would be done on me and/or the baby when I gave birth and how long I'd be in hospital. She said no tests would be required and I'd be discharged, if everything went well, within 24 hours. I'm reassured slightly by that, but still remember what happened last time.

Sister-in-law gave birth on Tuedsday, as predicted, a girl. Her and her husband have finally decided on a name - Lucy Evelyn. Can't say I like Lucy, but I LOVE Evelyn.

Still feeling ill. Really bad cough, sore throat and copius amounts of green phlegm. GP isn't going to prescribe antibiotics, which I think I need, just told me to use a decongestant - which I can't, aside from Olbas oil.

So I'm sitting here, sniffing Olbas Oil and sucking Soothers.

cheepz I don't know how you do it. I'm thinking of you.

freezingmyarseoff I'm sorry.

meita what are you having?

boodleboot what names?

How is everyone else???

Unbuffy · 02/04/2010 19:52

hello everyone, Lurking here, sorry I am a bit crap at posting atm.

Freezing, so very sorry. No words, really. It's shit - take it easy on yourself.

Mrs Rigby I think your obs. may be talking out of his bottom hole. I flew to Greece while 5 months pregnant with dd and 5 months after having her (admittedly only a short 2 hour flight but still in the air). Did he give any reasons at all? Sounds stoopid to me.

ooh ooh baby names... excitement!!!

I am feeling thoroughly sick at the moment. Don't remember feeling this dizzy and nauseous and knackered and crap this early last time. Keep telling myself it's a good sign but still uuuurgh. Also keep reminding myself that I want to feel crap as it means I'm preggers - but part of me is angry that I have to do the horrid sick bit again, I've done that bit and should be well past it and towards the better end by now.

Reminds me, my stats are (I think this is right)

unbuffy - baby#2 (dd 15 months)5+3 weeks

I presume that the weeks are counting from day 1 of cycle?

Feel very odd and little and presumtuous even posting stats in a post! Could some clever type person please do the honours? I am not a clever type person with computers.

Anyway, happy Easter all

Any news from amy yet???

boodleboot · 04/04/2010 10:48

hello all. have been too grumpy to post....EVERONE AND EVERYTHING annoying me at the moment. no real reason just one of those moods.

babynames are impossible..dh just annoys me and keeps saying wait til its born but i like to have an idea...also i seem to be very name fickle and lots of the posters on babynames are the same posters who get all shirty on AIBU...not that i venture on there very often as the vitriol and bile raises my blood pressure!! perhaps we should start a totallys grads name thread....that way we can try out names on eachother rather than some of the biyatches stalking babynames!!!

physically i now look pregnant. my boobs have finally been surpassed by my belly but my daughter takes great pleasure in asking how phil and grant are and then cracking up....they really do look like two large bald heads...

i feel betterish i guess...got a bit out of puff walking to the top of a hill for the dawn rising easter sunday service at six am we went to but it was worth it...sunrise is never more beautiful than on easter sunday!!

hope all u girls have lovely day x

MrsRigby · 04/04/2010 20:21

DH and I have already agreed the next 3 boys and girls names boodleboot:

James (DS1)
Thomas
Miles
William

Emily
Isabell
Rose

MrsRigby · 04/04/2010 20:24

Oh, and I've had to cancel meeting our Jewish friends for the 6th time. Still sick.

I fucking hate nurseries.

And I'm right there with you boodleboot, the world is full of annoying bastards. And the AIBU threads really get to me also.

LeeWT · 04/04/2010 23:47

I think I need headings for this post:
just needed to share tonight, feel free to ignore the ramblings!

Ups:
-choosing my buggy last night and feeling excited.. I hated dd's one and can't wait for this (3 wheeler my choice from mothercare if anyone interested, it won mother and baby award)
-finding out today that my sister in law who also had a mc last year is due three weeks after me
-starting to mayyybe feel some little flutters, I'm 14 and a half weeks
-choosing baby names (James, Matthew, Andrew) and (Annabel, Grace and Niamh). Dh is crap at baby names, I named my little girl (Ella) with the nurses and surgeons!
-feeling lucky that I'm over the scary trimester

Downs:
-having bug, virus thing that keeps settig my asthma off alongside a cold for SIX weeks now!!!!
-dd who had recovered, getting worse again
-potty training an associated failures such as a large ball of poo(unbeknownst to me until I pulled her tights down) that rolled out of her pants and into the next cubicle in the toilets in ikea yesterday
-still tired, nauseous and out of the blue the painful boobs have returned
-feeling really fat and uncomfortable in all clothes, maternity or otherwise and dreading family holiday in 8 weeks. Does anyone know if I was to start walking few evenings a week might it get rid of the dimples on my expansive thighs? I have two months!

So that's it really these are the many ramblings going around my mind.. That and I really think mumsnet makes me sound crazy. I thought to myself, almost aloud, I must check whether I officially welcomed unbuffy to our thread, and must check on cheepz and freezing on the other thread.. Dh would have me locked up if he could hear my thoughts..

So anywayyy if anyone has any pearls of wisdom on No. 2's or dimply thighs please do share!! Xxx

OP posts:
LeeWT · 04/04/2010 23:51

Oh and feel better mrs rigby

hope your mood improved poor boodle

meita so jealous of your holiday but you deserve it my petal!

OP posts:
Unbuffy · 05/04/2010 10:02

Lee walking is excellent for dimples (in the right way!) I have one of these listen-to-plug-into-ears thingies (i am technoidiot) and dh has put lots of story tapes (sorry, audiobooks) onto it and it really helps to keep going. Between september and november last year (when i got pg and couldn't be bothered lost impetus) i lost about 2 stone walking listening to it. trying to regain impetus now, but walking with buggy on the hills around here is hell a bit tricky. i do have a backpack but i've decided not to use it any more, i did until the mc and (typical paranoia) have decided that it's probably not a good idea this time. ANYWAY would defo recommend walking, if nothing else makes you feel a lot better with endorphins!

ps baby names - dh and i have come to a democratic agreement - i do girls, he do boys. Subject to both of us approving (ie me) saying yes .

Boodle feel better x
