I have done two tests the past couple of days both very faint +ves. Just wanted to be the first person here! Have changed my usual name as it's such early days yet...

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Tillysmummy · 18/07/2003 14:11

BTW, don't worry im sure this pregnancy will be fine. Poor you, it must have been terrible miscarrying and not knowing for so long.

quackers · 18/07/2003 14:24

Thanks TM, what does BTW mean - forgive my ignornace!!!! I hope so, just took ages to receover pysically from it. Didn't stop bleeding for about 2 months.
Yes, I feel like work are a little nore flexible but I don't have childcare for a baby, there is not very much for under 2's here. I do get paid well, but hoping hubby will pass his finals next week for accountancy and we'll be sorted I think. Results for him next Thursday! Then I would probably do my Virgin cosmetics from home and that would be enough. It was easy with my first. I was flying at the time, p/t and it fitted in quite well. I've even moved where my Mum and Dad are but it still wouldn't be quite enough. I'm not exactly completely happy here anyway - its my marketing manager!!!!!
The hcg address. Put hcg levels in yahoo and its the top one (early pg).
I will not tell work until it is obvious as the m/c was so public and don't want that again. They were lovely but I would have preferred them not knowing. I was far enough on to tell people at the time so all knew what happened.

quackers · 18/07/2003 14:27

God I ramble, I must preview before I post!!! Sorry TM!!!

Tillysmummy · 18/07/2003 14:32

No problems, I am rambling too, feel brain dead today ! Can't believe what a struggle it is to focus on anything. Feel so sick too. Do you ?
Childcare is hard. I am very luck in that my mum looks after Tilly and would look after another.
I am not going to tell work until I need to. They won't be chuffed ! Tough titties !
BTW means by the way. I will look at hcg. Do you have a girl or a boy already and do you have a preference to what you'd like now ?

quackers · 18/07/2003 15:01

I have a girl, 3 in August. That; sgreat you've got reliable childcare, I would probaly do the same!! No I don't feel sick but have been so off food, like beans and tea. I didn't have alot of sickness with my first, although felt sick wasn't physically. It kicked in about week 6 for me. So I've got about a week or so. Other symptoms fine though, boobs, achy and tingly and terrible taste in my mouth.
What line of business are u?? I presume you live south some where, your dh playing golf in sandwich? Did u get a due date?

quackers · 18/07/2003 15:02

Oh forgot, would be thrilled with either but have found girls a little easier, but it depends I suppose on the child.

LEWEI · 18/07/2003 15:40

I've not had a scan yet because they wanted to do an internal scan and i had one of those two days before each mc, so i said no. I would rather wait until i get passed week eight before doing one.
The scan i had before the first mc showed the little heart flicker and fade, i just couldn't go through that again. The scan with the second mc, little one was already on its way out so we didn't see very much.
So this time i am standing my ground and will do only what i want and won't be pushed into anything that i feel uncomfy with.
Well i am in Scotland, and it's a yucky day, Doesn't boredom make you eat rubbish?
One thing i must say is that in all my pregnancies Tomato soup has been my greatest friend, the only thing that never ever makes me feel sick and always tastes nice. I have five tins stashed away!!
I love old films, dp just bought me Calamity Jane and Meet Me in ST Louis. Doris Day and Judy Garland. Very favs are Wizard of Oz (loved it since tiny) and White Christmas (i am a huge fan of christmas).
Dp is going out for a while tonight so i am armed with a musical, digestives and ice cold milk (used to be choc and wine). I have to watch my sugar intake as i had gestational diabetes in first pregnancy. Oh how i miss galaxy and dairy milk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A small price to pay for a healthy pregnancy!

quackers · 18/07/2003 15:59

Sounds good Lewei, stick to your guns and do what you want. I'll have one at 8/9 weeks I hope and that's one milestone less to deal with! I love old films too, my favourites are Audrey Hepburn generally, I have most of her films. Also musicals and crime films. I adore Morgan Freeman and anything he's in is fab!! I can't wait to finish on Maternity and sit and watch films again! When having my dd I made a giant winnie the pooh tapestry. Took ages but sat watching Wimbledon and doing that in between swimming. Them were the days!! I should get some time to myself when dd is nursery this time!!
A cousin o mine is due to give birth in about a month. I saw her at a wedding last week. he lost het first at 37 weeks, like you Lewei. She had a boy a year later, he's a little tearaway! Another will do them such good!

Hilary · 18/07/2003 16:49

Mmmmm, tomato soup.....

Tillysmummy · 18/07/2003 17:09

Quackers, are you another swimmer ? I try and swim 3 or 4 times a week. Def helped with the labour. No dh is at the Golf Open in Sandwich with clients but we live in Northwood, Middlesex which is near Watford. I work in IT, Customer Relationship Management exactly. I would quite like a girl too but am happy with whatever comes as long as it's healthy. Im sure we're all the same there. Lewei, your evening sounds much like mine. Im watching the Important of Being Earnest. Anyone seen it ?

chiggles · 19/07/2003 08:12

Please could I join this thread?
Found out last week I'm pregnant. Not been to doctors yet but figured it's due March 23! Second one too.
Just needed some understanding people who know what it feels like to want to cry for nothing and feel tired and sick. dh doesn't realize and doesn't seem to want to understand.
Congratulations to everyone too

quackers · 19/07/2003 15:41

Hi chiggles! Welcome!! Mysekf and TM are due 24th March we reckon, but haven't had confirmed by Doc yet like you!! Good luck with your pg and be lovely to chat to you!!!

Tillysmummy · 19/07/2003 16:29

Chiggles, welcome ! I hope you are feeling well. I feel very tired today but not so depressed. Last couple of days I've been feeling very hormonal. What do you have already Chiggles, boy or girl ?
Hey Quackers !!!

chiggles · 19/07/2003 17:14

Thank you for the welcome Tillysmummy and quackers. I've got a boy at the minute. He's very, very active so I don't think I've got time to feel too sick. I'm feeling OK now, keep eating though so I don't feel very sick. It worked last time. I ate constantly. Luckily I like salad and fruit.
Just worried cause the first time round I felt very sick all the time (I was never actually sick though) and now I just feel like I've got a bit of a hangover. Might not get much this time I suppose.
Look forward to talking to you all.

quackers · 19/07/2003 17:59

Sorry TM!!! My comp failed just as I was doing my meassage before!!! How are u today!! Wasn't sure actually if you would online today, being w/end! Went out for a chinese last might, was gorgeous!! TMy dh had lamb though and it stunk, I felt urrgh!! I feel fine today, no real symptoms yet, but I'm only 4 weeks and 4 days so aliitle early I suppose. Got to stop panicking!!! Slap me TM!!! I did another test, I know I'm terrible. A boots one and it was a little fainetr than the last, I am so worried that my hormone levels will drop. Won't be happy untilmy scan!!! Wish I felt more pg!!!! I'm droaning, I know!!!! Did you enjoy your evening in witha vid??
Chiggles, I don't feel sick either yet, just off some foods and tea at the mo. Wasn't sick with my first but very queasy! We are exactly the same stage so I suppose we shouldn't expect it yet!!

Tillysmummy · 20/07/2003 08:25

Ok so I don't feel sick either ! We are all the same ! I have a funny taste in my mouth and feel knackered but that's all. I have the Queen Charlotte hospital's guide to pregancy and birth and it's so informative. It says in there that it is normally around the 6th week when everything is in full swing that you start to really feel all the symptoms.
Quackers, glad that the Chinese was nice. I didn't watch the video in the end, got caught up in my book and Big Brother for all my sins ! We watched it last night whilst devouring almost whole tub of ben and jerries Phish Food !

morocco · 20/07/2003 10:50

hello again everyone
glad it's going well for you all (sickness excluded) - I'm getting great at midday siestas and can manage 2 hours now (I got the childminder to come even though I was at home off sick and it was a brilliant decision - well worth the money.) I just looked at my stomach in profile today and I look as big as I did when I was 3 months pregnant last time - my stomach muscles must really be shot to hell. Anyone else got a bulge (oh please say yes or I'll have to blame it on the ridiculous amounts of food I've scoffed)

lots of sympathy to spikeycat - we were up at 6 this morning having gone to bed at around 1 with our little one - what a nightmare. and now I'm at work preparing for tomorrow - the downside of having a week off I suppose.

oh lewei - I know just what you mean about dh suddenly becoming 'interested' - my dh hasn't stopped pestering me since I first announced the ban and keeps asking if abstinence is 'nearly over' yet - bit like a kid on a long car journey really.

how are you doing hilary? haven't heard much from you lately - is everything going OK?

chatee · 20/07/2003 19:35

welcome to all that have joined this thread this week-it'll be good to chat to you over the comung months.
Well told my parents and what a let down that was-no congratulations only"well how will you manage with 2, it's not fair on dd".Huh thanks a lot but at least my Dad cut the grass for me
Feeling really sick around the smell of food especially in the morning and just want to eat fish(any type) and tomatoes and salad cream!!!
Looking forward to Tuesday.
Morocco- yes I am bigger than last time already-uhhmm serious workouts needed after this baba is born
DD went home with my parents, they phoned when they got home and she didn't even want to talk to me better go now in case she wants to talk to me on the phone-no broadband here!
Hope everyone is well, will pop back later for a good read....lol

spikeycat · 21/07/2003 07:32

chatee, don't worry about your parents reaction, to be honest I am expecting the same which is why I am waiting till 12 weeks to tell them, I can't put up with negative comments regarding the rather small gap between baby 1 and 2 when I am nervous about it myself.

If everyone waited till it was the right time or they could afford it no one would have kids, and anyway, we are all excited to who cares!!!!

quackers · 21/07/2003 08:47

Hi all, how are we all today? I've had such bad headaches, every day now. Hoping this is just hormones, anyone else get them so early on??
TM how's it going today chuck? I'm calming down a bit and trying not to panick! Won't do me any good whatsoever! Did you have a nice weekend??
Hi Chatee , thanks for wlcome. Sorry to hear about the response you got. I don't know your circumstances but I really don't understand! If you are happy and the baby is healthy, that is all that matters. What could be so bad about having another baby. Worse things happen! Sorry I'm not much use am I! Hi Spikeycat, my neighbour has 3 under 4 and she is very happy and does exceptionally well. She has no relatives either so I am wondering what her secret is!
Speak later!!

morocco · 21/07/2003 09:41

morning quackers (and everyone else of course)
sorry to hear about your headaches - I imagine it's all those hormones flooding your system so probably a good sign.
I missed food poisoning by a whisker yesterday by refusing dh's dodgy salad - now he's at home sick as a pig and I'm feeling all smug (but back at work so I'm suffering too)

how's the finger lewei?

I know jsut what you mean chatee - I told my mum this weekend and her response was 'oh no not another one so soon' but she's always like that and give it a week and she';; be buying up half of mothercare. Perhaps your folks will come round pretty soon too. I had to tell her so early as dh had blabbed to his family and there's nothing worse than my mil phoning up to 'share the great news' with my mum - fireworks would well and truly have exploded.

I was really surprised by how nice the clinic where i had my blood tests done were about the age gap - I went there with my last pregnancy too - they said lots of lovely things about how the two children would be able to play together almost like twins and be very close. so you never know spikeycat, maybe people will be positive about the age gap - I'm nervous like you though about what people will say. I don't know why because if they don't think it's a good idea then stuff them!

quackers · 21/07/2003 10:06

Gosh Morocco, close shave hey! I just read about eating coleslaw and prepared salads, not good. Woops had large portion of M and S coleslaw with my steak last night!! Have to cut that out!!
I really wouldn't worry about being pg again so soon. You won't have to deal with jealousy and not sharing as with an older child until later on anyway! My dd will be 3 and a half, all being well that is! She will think it's her baby, she's such a bossy boots!! I'll not get a look in!
Lewei, not sawn off the other finger have u??

spikeycat · 21/07/2003 10:11

whats this about coleslaw - I know the prepared salad thing but never heard that before - opps, its something I eat most days

quackers · 21/07/2003 10:22

Hi Spikeycat! Me too!! I read it on www.babycentre.co.uk, I think it was anyway. Something to do with listeria CAN be present, potato salad too, unless you make it yourself of course! I remember avoiding it in my first pg, but forgot these last 2 times! Maybe Mears or somepne could clarify this - if your looking over us Mears!! TQxx

LEWEI · 21/07/2003 10:27

The finger is doing fine, just a little bit tender!
Sorry i missed you all over the weekend, its not that i was doing anything exciting, just that dp is a computer hogger and when i am on it he is hanging over my shoulder "what are you doing". So to avoid any agro i just left him to it.
Welcome to Chiggles, our numbers are growing by the week!!!!
I hope everything is well with you now Morocco.
Where have Hilary and Elvis gone?
Well i have had a weekend of nausea, I have eaten all my tomato soup, so will have to re-stock today. I keep telling myself that it is good to be nauseous and it is good to have boobs the size of watermelons, the nausea does get you down a little though, Doesn't it? Especially when it lasts all day.
Poor dp was so looking forward to his sunday roast, when it came to dinner time he ended up with Waffles and beans. I couldn't stand the smell of anything else!!! He is being so good when it comes to the food situation, he is quite happy to eat whatever i can eat.
The only thing he is driving me nuts with is the sex issue, He says my list of "don't do thats" is growing daily, according to him it is a case of:
Don't breath on me, Don't touch the nipples, you can give me a kiss but no tongues, Don't clamber all over me, your to hot get on your own side of the bed, brush your teeth, no kisses if you've been drinking coke!
Now that i read it all back, he is probably right, but he doesn't understand how little it takes to make me barf!!!!!!
Hope you are all well, this is me in my danger zone now. So fingers crossed.
