Have i missed something with the downs baby thing? Or are we just talking IF's?

quackers · 30/07/2003 15:08

Just IF Jems. I was just wondering wether to book a nuchal scan or not. They don't do them in my area. There's a thread about Rosie. might make you cry though!!

Jemma7 · 30/07/2003 15:16

I will go and have a look now.

LEWEI · 01/08/2003 11:46

Just a quick hello, glad to see you are all well. I am just making my way through a box of oatcakes!!!!!!!!Yummmmmmmmmm.
Dp has gone to the pub with his dad so i am having an hours peace and quiet.
I am still waiting to hear from a community midwife and/or consultant(been waiting for a week).
I am supposed to be a high risk/red star pregnancy, so i am greatly impressed with their speed!!!!!!!!!!
Hope you are all happy, well and enjoying your symptoms.
If there is a tomato soup shortage this month, thats my fault

Don't know if you are aware my friends, I've had some probs and I started a thread about bleeding again. I basically had a very small bleed last night, brown blood. GP was fab sent me for a scan. They couldn't find a fetal pole but said it should be there at 6 weeks. As we worked it out I'm actually 5 weeks and 6 days so 1 day to grow a fetal pole! My HCG was normal but it was last time and I m/carried anyway. I am completely devastated as the also the sac is very low and adds to the problems. They want to rescan next Friday.I'm sorry to ramble, I will update on the thread I have set up as this is not the place. Just totally gutted. outlook not good and a second m/c looks likely. Take care all, I wish you all the very very best in the future, I really do. I won't post on here again unless of course I have positive news. Lots of love to you all. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

arabella2 · 01/08/2003 23:11

Dear quackers
I wish you all the best, please look after yourself and your mini bump and I'll be thinking about you.

winnie1 · 01/08/2003 23:21

Quackers, thinking of you, take care of yourself. Winniex

Hilary · 03/08/2003 16:21

Oh quackers, I go away for a holiday and come back to find you all worried. Poor you, I do hope everything turns out well for you and the little one. Thinking of you, do let us know how things are going.

quackers · 03/08/2003 19:28

Thankyou all but I think it is bad news. Started bleeding again, brown blood still but have mild cramps now, don't feel pg except for achy boobs and they were last to go last time. Bad news I know, I'll see the consultant and try and prevent it all I can next time. So sad.xx

bossykate · 03/08/2003 19:52

hello quackers, sorry to see you have more symptoms, how awful and worrying. any chance you can go back to the hospital/dr before friday? no sense in putting yourself through an unnecessary wait. at the very least they can check your hcg levels again to see if there is any variation. it is so miserable isn't it? do keep posting if it helps. best wishes, bk.

TerriB · 03/08/2003 20:23

Quackers - I am thinking of you, do keep posting and remember we are all here for you.

LEWEI · 04/08/2003 10:59

quackers · 04/08/2003 20:15

How is everyone today ? I just feel starving hungry all the time. Does anyone else or is it just me. I never eat for the sake of it but find that I really need to eat every 2 hours coz im so starving.

dot1 · 06/08/2003 12:08

Hi - I know I'm officially on the April thread, but saw your posting TillysMummy, and I feel exactly the same! I'm absolutely ravenous all the time - need to eat every couple of hours and get a real hungry pain in my tummy if I don't! I've started waking up in the middle of the night needing to eat - usually rice krispies!

This isn't brilliant as although I've lost a lot of weight this year, I'm still overweight and don't want to put tons of weight on... but this hunger thing is so weird - kind of uncontrollable...!

LucieB · 06/08/2003 12:11

...and I am officially on the Feb thread but thought I would add to this chat. I feel quite hungry during the day but am finding hard to eat much in the evening. We tend to have our supper between 8 and 9 and I struggle to get halfway through my dinner. Was starving at this stage when pg with ds....odd!

moosh · 06/08/2003 12:12

Yes TM I am always starving hungry too. The only thing is I really don't enjoy the taste of food. I also break out in an enormous sweat when eating hot food, this also happened first time round with d.s. With d.s now 3.5 yrs I only went off chinese food and tea but happily ate everything else. This time I dislike all food, but am hungry all the time, so I false myself to eat to get the nutrients I need and to avoid feeling even sicker. Does that make sense to you???? Am nearly 10 weeks now and am still slowly counting the days to my first midwife appointment, I am also waiting for an appointment for a nucal scan. Sweating buckets in this weather, really not good when you feel nauseas too. Hope everyone else is doing well.

Tillysmummy · 06/08/2003 13:16

Glad to see im not the only one needing constant calories ! Im worried im going to put on so much weight. I seem to remember being like this with dd though and once I got past the 3/4 month stage I was less hungry and just ate normally. Dot 1 how many weeks are you ? LucieB have you had your nuchal scan now then ? Do you have pics ? Moosh Im there with you on the food thing, I don't actually dislike it but do have some things that seem intolerable and have to eat regularly to help with the sick feeling. I am really into cereal, specifically weetabix and fuit n fibre ! I also seem to want to eat McDonalds (although I haven't indulged this yet !) - I NEVER eat McDonalds, it's so weird.

LucieB · 06/08/2003 14:16

TM - nuchal scan is tomorrow - nervous and excited at the same time. I have also gone off most foods and all I can really tolerate is cheese sandwiches, fruit and ice-cream (oh, and cereal!). Not too unhealthy. I am a little worried that I haven't put on any weight yet - and am at 12 weeks but am assured that this isn't unusual.

Tillysmummy · 06/08/2003 16:26

LucieB, good luck tomorrow do let me know and I'll come on and give the results of my early scan. Are you going to find out the sex ? I love fruit and ice cream too ! Completely off salad which I normally adore....

LucieB · 06/08/2003 16:47

TM the 12 week scan is too early to tell the sex of the baby, apparently. But I will be finding out at the 20 week scan. My dh is a doctor and wants to be there at the scan so its likely he will know and if he knows, I also would like to know. We found out last time....MIL was very disappointed in us!!!

LucieB · 06/08/2003 16:49

....more importantly, best of luck with your early scan, TM.

Jemma7 · 06/08/2003 17:03

Just posted on the other thread TM but then realised u were in here..........Good luck tomorrow - just wanted to let u know i will be thinking of you.
Let us know how u get on.
Jem x

Hilary · 06/08/2003 22:27

Got my scan tomorrow, I'll be 11 weeks. I have actually already had one as I was worried about the baby at 8 weeks and miscarried last time but it will be a relief to see the little one again...assuming everything is ok.

Hope everyone else's scans go well.

dot1 · 07/08/2003 09:06

Hi Tillysmummy - it's so funny because all I want to eat at the moment is Rice Krispies (I seem to be having at least 3 bowls a day at the moment) and I've also had MacDonalds cravings! (gave in last week and had a burger - shame on me - I never go there usually...). I'm only just over 6 weeks, and have got an early scan booked for 2 weeks today, because I'm so nervous about everything. I woke up this morning with quite a sharp pain in one area, so have been worrying, but it seems to be settling down now - maybe I just slept in a funny position.

Anyway, I'll keep flitting from this thread to the April thread if that's OK (I'm due on April 1st!).
