Congrats terrib!

TerriB · 28/07/2003 20:34

Thanks Spikeycat, will be in touch soon for a chat if that's OK?

spikeycat · 28/07/2003 20:35

Thats fine terri - I mailed you a little earlier anyway, when I finally managed to get on line.

For all the other, bloody domino's wouldn't deliver, so I had herbies - lovely garlic bread mmmmmm

quackers · 28/07/2003 20:44

Great news Morocco!!!!

LEWEI · 29/07/2003 19:18

Hello everyone and a very warm welcome to all those joining us.
Well i made it, i passed the eight week blip and we are feeling pretty good.
I am going for my scan in a couple of weeks (my choice not to go just now)
I am pleased to see everyone's happy and healthy.
I am not doing very well with food at the moment, i can only manange a few mouthfulls every few hours. Dp has got it into his head that i am carrying twins!!!!!!!!
We are on holiday now so a few day trips and picnics are about all i can manage.
Is anyone else sooooooo tired that they could sleep all day?
Take care all

morocco · 29/07/2003 22:36

such good news lewei - enjoy the holidays.
I have very little sickness but a huge appetite - commiserations all those suffering right now but I'm not being smug as I'm sure I'll catch you up pretty soon.
Next week - maternity clothes shopping. Last time I couldn't afford anything and neither can I this time but now I jsut don't care so much. We've got all the baby stuff already from the last one so I can spend all the cash on me instead!

Tillysmummy · 30/07/2003 08:11

Congrats Lewei and Morocco ! I have my bean scan next Thursday so am keeping everything very crossed
I feel v v v sick today. Wake up starving and seem to need to eat all day. At this rate am going to be the size of a house ! Just feel so hungry, sick and of course tired all the time. How is everyone else.

My sense of smell is v v acute now. Smell of my mum after she's smoked a ciggy makes me feel like throwing everywhere and my PIL who stayed last night are both a bit smelly in their own way, FIL has BO and MIL smells of wee (mmmm nice !) so this morning when I had to give them a kiss goodbye I almost threw up on the way to the car !

quackers · 30/07/2003 08:40

Oh God TM, they sound lovely! Lewei, that's great news, I'm really pleased for you!! You're doing SO well!
Morocco, I haven't had much sickness either, I feel a bit nauseous and did all day yesterday but I'm SO hungry! I ate loads yesterday but only in small bits or I feel sick. I had to have 3 weetabix before bed last night, it was absolute heaven! Think I've found a replacement for wine!
I am going to book an early scan in Liverpool just in case my local hospital doesn't give me one by 9 weeks as I could not bear to think I had lost it again and didn't know. Boobs coming along icely as DH says!!

chatee · 30/07/2003 09:43

morning all,
well was woken by dd and dh around 8.15am and have just finished the morning ritual(for now)of living between the bathroom/bedroom...iykwim.yuk.

had a lovely relaxed but busy day yesterday(we are both on hols from work this week)and spent a leisurely day in keswick, gentle strolls, lunch in a nice cafe, afternnon nap in car when dd fell asleep(not too comfy but at least a little rest)and then all arternoon in the pool with dh taking dd on the waterslide most of the time there it was nice for me to watch and when the waves came in the pool it was great to bob about.
rounded of the day with an ok pub meal.
must admit though didn't sleep too well as my back was killing me...maybe just slightly over did it-so it's a stay at home day today....nice.
just a quick question.."when do you register with a midwife? and where do you find them?" i know it's a daft question but last time they contacted me(after i had been the docs)
quackers-where abouts in birchwood where you?
when are you coming to liverpool for your scan? hope it's soon sorted for you...btw i had family in the iom until recently..
hope everyone else is eating well and feeling fine lol

quackers · 30/07/2003 09:54

Hi Chatee! Good to hear form you! Glad you had a great day! I was actually in Locking Stumps - Lords lane, don't know if you know it?? I would go back and maybe live in Stockie Heath, I liked it and my Sis is in Lymm, but I'm happy here for now - it's just getting off the dam Island!! Ie for a quick scan! I will just make an app't with Liverpool in case I get no joy here.
I'm so worried though all the time, can't help it. Today, sounds awful but I keep needing toilet - No'2's -SORRY all, probaly making you feel sick. Urggh! Maybe it's nerves. I am so nervous. I keep thinking I'll go for a scan and there will be nothing there. Also got an apointment with my usual Doc who dealt with my m/c and she might push it for me, so fingers crossed.
If the m/w contacted you last time, she shoudl this time. Maybe give the Doc'a a call, the receptionists should know what the score is!!
Sorry to ramble all, just feeling aprehensive today.xxx Quackers.

Tillysmummy · 30/07/2003 10:08

Quackers don't feel apprehensive. Im sure all will be fine. We all feel like that im sure at some point. I am nervous too and yes I am always in the loo although a little constipated (sorry for details all !). When I don't feel sick and feel absolutely fine I worry about it. But there is no point worrying it won't change anything. Just take good care of yourself and smile and be happy

quackers · 30/07/2003 10:10

Tx TM. You're right of course. Just took a knock I spose and only a healthy bubba will put all right! That't the thing I'm not constipated I'm the opposite! I always do when I'm worried. Oh well think I've lost a couple of pounds. That's the alcohol - not had any and I usually drink a few scoops per week!

moosh · 30/07/2003 10:21

Hi everyone, see we are all in good pregnancy spirits with the vomitting and nausea. Great isn't it!! Still feeling sick at 9 weeks and counting the days till I see the midwife, not for another 4 weeks. It is doing my head in, not hearing a heart beat, not knowing if everything is o.k with little one in there. Hate all food still, but am forcing myself to eat very little but often to get the nutrients, but I think I am addicted to eggs, well cooked boiled eggs or scrambled. Can anyone tell me if this is ok as I know that you are supposed to eat onlt three eggs a week because of cholesterol levels e.t.c. But I can't help it, if I am not working, I'll have a bowl of wetabix and then about 10.30. I need some scrambled eggs or hard boiled eggs and soilders. Seriously though, can I be increasing my cholesterol levels? Any opinion will be greatly needed.

Sorry didn't mean to reprint threads, blaming the computer totally!!!

Tillysmummy · 30/07/2003 10:39

Quackers, forgot to say, Happy 6 Weeks !! Know what you mean about the alcohol. Weird thing is I don't even fancy it which and I thought i'd feel really deprived !
I do understand how you feel becuase although I haven't had a m/c yet I am constantly fearing it but then try and look on the positive and think if I do its a sign that everything hasn't formed properly and it's natures way of ending the pregnancy.
Hope you don't feel I was being unsympathetic. Big cyber hug. I feel weirdly down today. No good reason. Irrational, hormonal woman on the rampage !
Moosh don't worry about the eggs. I think that the 3 a week is a general guide for healthy cholestrol levels but if you have these cravings for a while, indulge them, as long as you aren't doing it forever I can't see it doing long term damage. I may be completely wrong, just my opinion, I bow to medical experts out there who will probably say im talking utter rubish !

quackers · 30/07/2003 11:00

I agree TM, if you're body is craving something, eat it - well within reason!!
TM, happy 6 weeks too!!!! I'm 6 weeks by conception but Friday by period! No I don't think you're insesitive at all. It's easy to get paranoid about all being well, but at the end of the day if it's not healthly then it's not going to be. I just feel as though I had enough torture and need a bit of good fortune this time!!
moosh!ood to hear fom you - even if it was 3 times!!! I'm going to tell you not to worry now! Hang in there. 12 weeks will come around quicker than u think!

moosh · 30/07/2003 11:44

Thanks Q and TM for your advice but I seriously think that when I go Tesco this weekend I will not buy a box of eggs, or if I do I will cut down on my weekly intake of them. I really feel that I am eating far too many of them.
Quackers, I know you said you have to keep going to the toilet today, please do not worry too much. I've not had a m/c but if I am worrying I can only try and understand how worried you must be feeling. I am sure you are fine. Thank your lucky stars that your bowels are working perfectly, I think all those eggs have made me constipated, haven't been for days. So its a bowl of bran flakes for me tonight, that normally does the trick.

Tillysmummy · 30/07/2003 13:23

Quackers im sure good fortune will be yours. After all we are due on the same date. It's special !
BTW my dd was born on September 11th - what a day !! Hope this one isn't born on a memorable day.

quackers · 30/07/2003 14:16

Oh yes, I remember you saying!! Well I've got good news! All this hyperventilating over the phone to the Sec has paid off. Well don't think I needed to. My consultant had already requested a scan for next week AND for 3 weeks later all being well!!! Should get the date through in a few days. I'm really pleased. It is such a weight off my mind to know that they care and I will know next week if all is ok or not. I think to me is the most important thing is just knowing what is going on as my symptoms haven't exactly been strong.

Tillysmummy · 30/07/2003 14:28

That is such good news Quackers, really pleased for you. We will having our scans around the same time as I am going next Thursday. It is important to know. I know I really need to see that prawn to believe it. Otherwise I keep thinking im not. So will your next one be the Nuchal ? My next one is at 12 weeks after this and that's the Nuchal.

Jemma7 · 30/07/2003 14:33

Congrats Quackers - i know u have been worrying about that.
Hopefully when u see your litle bean it will put your mind and rest and you can start enjoying the thouh of being pg gain.

quackers · 30/07/2003 14:51

Oh thanks guys that's really sweet! Appreciate it! Hi jems!! TM, no I'll have the one next week - or thereabouts she said (7 weeks), then one at 10 weeks and they do another at 12 anyway and 19. I would have to arrange a nuchal privately. I have just been reading the thread on terminating a downs baby, it's an old one but thought it might help me decide what I would do. Can't help feeling any baby would be so loved, but I don't think I would have the patience or strength of charcter to handle a baby/child with downs. That's a tough one for most people though isn't it.

moosh · 30/07/2003 15:04

Yes Quackers, I totally agree with you. I'm really pleased that you will be seen next week once you have been I am 100% +tive that you will be able to relax and enjoy your pg. Hope you all enjoy the rest of the week, back to work tommorow ugh! So will probably be too tierd to go on mumsnet till next week. Take care.
