Due January 2027 anyone?

I couldn’t see an existing thread, so I thought I’d start one. If there is one already going, please point me in the right direction - though I imagine there are not many people due in this month just yet!!

I just found out I’m pregnant. I’ve calculated my due date to be the 1st of January 2027.

This is my third pregnancy. It’s come as a bit of a shock, but a very happy one! My first two were quite close together, and I thought I’d left the baby phase behind. I also gave away all our baby stuff already 🫠

It would be nice to chat to others in the same stage of pregnancy as we go through it all together 🥰

How is everyone doing? I had my 20 week scan last week and found out we’re having another girl (DC1&2 are also girls so we will be a very girl heavy house!) everything else looks good, started feeling more movement and DH has received an almighty kick from the baby now too. Probably need to get on and start getting the essentials sorted - so far we’ve started and ended with ordering the pram/car seat

ChasingRainbow5 · 31/08/2026 13:31

Do people having second or third children not already have most stuff? The only thing I really need to get is a next to me cot as I borrowed a friend’s first time round.

My 20 week scan is on Thursday, will be 21+1 but been on holiday. I know from NIPT that I’m having another boy 🩵 (I won’t lie, I was kind of hoping for a girl but two the same will be lovely!)

NoCheese2026 · 31/08/2026 14:11

Are people feeling lots of movements? I'm due at the very end of the month and feel like i'm getting little air bubbles inside me but not sure if I'm inventing it!

I’m having my third. And after my second I was very much done. This was our surprise baby, I gave a lot of my stuff to my friend who due September. Thankfully how our babies are gapped she given me bits back after she done with it.

I have had to buy new clothes though as having a girl this time after 2 boys. And had to get a double pushchair as be a 13 month age gap! The rest I have thankfully! Of the big stuff at least.

ChasingRainbow5 · 31/08/2026 17:41

@Sunshinemoom absolutely fair enough! I meant no judgement, just curiosity 😊

erihskreb · 31/08/2026 17:53

@NoCheese2026 I’m due on the 9th (so currently 21+2) and over the last week I’ve started feeling proper movements, until that point I couldn’t really feel anything. I have an anterior placenta which apparently can make it later to feel movements.

@MustBeThursday how did you choose the pram and car seat? There are so many options and they are so expensive it feels like such a risk that I don’t know where to start 🙈

@ChasingRainbow5 I’m having a boy too! 💙 you never know, if you have a 3rd it could be a girl - I know 2 families who have had a girl after 2 boys this year!

ChasingRainbow5 · 31/08/2026 18:04

@erihskreb definitely no 3rd here, I’m 41 and counting my blessings 🥰

and my partner would leave if I even suggested it 🤣

MustBeThursday · 31/08/2026 19:20

@ChasingRainbow5 it’s a very unexpected number 3 for us - my others are 12 and 9, everything was passed on to other people years ago!

@erihskrebwe had a look round Smyths baby section to see if any looked good - there was no way I wanted to spend £1000+ on it after looking round mamas and papas for prices - the one we had for the first 2 was mamas and papas but was much cheaper (but it was 13 years ago we bought it!). We wanted one that had a reversible seat and a car seat that could be clipped on so narrowed it down from there. We’ve had car seats and high chairs from Joie before which we were happy with so thought it’ll probably be ok. Bonus that the one we’ve got comes with a footmuff, carrycot, rain cover and the car seat connectors included.

I didn’t mean for it to come across so blunt! 😅🙈

ChasingRainbow5 · 31/08/2026 21:19

@MustBeThursday ah that’s lovely!

@Sunshinemoom no not at all, I was just worried I’d sounded cheeky when I totally didn’t mean to 😄

I’m going to have a 2.5 year age gap, really hoping I won’t need a double buggy but have checked out second hand prices just in case. Highly recommend second hand or ex display models to save money, I just got a new car seat (but will reuse for #2).

Breezy1985 · 01/09/2026 00:31

I'm due on the 7th with a boy, it's my 3rd, but my dd is 22 and ds is 21 in November, was an extremely massive shock, so really is like starting all over again.

Thought this might be of interest to anyone buying baby bits. I’ve been involved with BumpBuy360 and it has loads of pregnancy/baby products and deals in one place, with customised check lists. Might be useful for some of you 😊.

How have people's 20 week scans been? Mine is tomorrow, very nervous, any tips or advice on questions to ask or experiences very welcome!

erihskreb · 14/09/2026 15:09

Hope it all goes well @NoCheese2026. They have a checklist of what they’re looking for and they’ll tell you / get a doctor if they see anything concerning. We got a printed report afterwards with all the measurements etc which I found reassuring as I’d been worrying he was small (he is perfectly average, I just wasn’t showing much). The only questions I asked were what we were looking at at certain points because it just looks like blobs to me! Ours took a while because he had his hands in front of his face which was blocking the view but they managed to check everything in the end.

Allendeavour26 · 14/09/2026 15:59

I feel like time has slowed down in pregnancy now, does anyone else feel like that? I think it's maybe because all the scans are out of the way for me (22 weeks today) and I don't have a midwife appointment until 28 weeks. I am ready to meet her now but still such a long way to go.

Okigen · 15/09/2026 17:27

@NoCheese2026 hope yours went well. Mine was rescheduled. Baby was facing down and despite a large quantity of me jumping and dancing around the room he wouldn’t move, so after 1 hour the sonographer gave up 🙈

Campanulaceae · 15/09/2026 20:43

All looked well at my 20 week scan last week, I am doing my best to avert my eyes from the baby's sex, as I want it to be a surprise.

This will be baby number four, and I'm very happy after the three losses from October - March. I'm already planning a fifth 😆

Edited to add: Holy moly, the heartburn is bad!

I cant even explain how this pregnancy feels. Sometimes I think its flying by and sometimes I feel like I've been 22 weeks for 5 weeks already haha.

I have my midwife appointment tomorrow and then god knows when I'll be seen next. My last pregnancy was classed high risk (even though I wasnt) but loved all the growth scans and additional appointments, really does make it go quicker.

Hey guys, I posted about this earlier on but it's all coming to a head now and I'm genuinely so torn as to how to deal with this!!

Xmas travel drama...
I'm due January 16th, and will be exactly 37 weeks pregnant on xmas day. This is my third baby, and both my previous babies were early by a few days. I have a crazy history of fast labours (under 2 hours, last one was home alone with no midwives like BAM baby in the living room).

I'm under a lot of pressure from my in-laws to travel 2 hours and stay for 3 - 4 days for big family xmas this year. We were with my side of the family last year and my MIL was pretty livid about it and we had a big falling out about it so the vibe is definitely that we owe her one. But then got pregnant again and here we are... Phone call this evening with SIL basically guilt tripping me into it.
Also, genuinely it's been a hard year for my MIL with her father dieing so I do completely understand that she wants all her kids and grand babies around her this year.

I don't want to go. All I want is to wake up in my own bed on xmas morning with my 2 existing children and partner, have a calm xmas at home and see my parents who live next door to us for xmas lunch.

Partner is very supportive and has outright said he thinks we should just tell his family we're not coming this year. I feel sooo nervous to let him do this because I know how much drama this will cause and at the end of the day it's me who will be the villain. But equally, the idea of sitting in a car for 2 hours, planning the kids meals and snacks for being away from home for 4 days, thinking of and buying his millions of family members presents and wrapping them, plus packing up the car and all of my kids presents and then spending 4 days not at home and socialising whilst just wanting to be nesting at home is filling me with dread.

Part of me just wants to nip this in the bud now and say we're not going.... but then the other side of me knows I could actually just suck it up and get on with it and keep the peace.

What would you do?!?!?!? I'm so stuck on this!

Sorry for the long post!

erihskreb · 26/09/2026 10:47

@JemRose could you say no but promise to go next year and/or for Easter? Or could they come to you (but stay max 1 night)? What a nightmare it would be if the baby came while you were there and had to
go to a different hospital and didn’t have any of the stuff, especially if you ended up having to stay in hospital for a little while.

@Campanulaceae the heartburn is crazy, I swear I’ve burped more in the last month than the rest of my life put together 😂

@Allendeavour26 I felt like from week 12-20 took ages but since then it’s been flying by - can’t believe it’s October next week! Only 12 weeks left at work for me now 😁

ChasingRainbow5 · 26/09/2026 11:27

@JemRose I’m due a few days before you and there’s no way I’d be travelling anywhere for Christmas. I said no to travelling for my MIL’s birthday in November. I’d suggest inviting her to you but it sounds like she’ll have other family around her?

Yeah no way I'd be going. Maybe just say you brought it up with your midwife and they said that given your history of quick labours that they would highly advise against? And then suggest xmas next year at theirs instead? (they'd probably prefer baby's first xmas anyway lol)

No way would I be travelling that far at 37 weeks. You could have had the baby by then. I’m visiting various family over Xmas but only within about 30-35 minutes of home and not staying there. It’s not fair on you. And sadly when kids grow up and get married you just can’t be with everyone every year - not when they live such a distance away so you can’t just pop round for a couple of hours.
