Starting a new thread and hope it will fill up in the next few weeks

I am a bit nervous starting this group as I am still SO early, only just testing positive this morning at 9DPO, ive taken 3 tests just to be sure. Hoping for a sticky bean, I am not a stranger to chemical pregnancies so really keeping everything crossed, its so nerve wracking!

I've gone off 'conception date' rather than LMP as I ovulate late, and for me, its more accurate - this brings me to due date 1st August 2026.

If others would like, I can start a Facebook group, maybe in a few weeks, I found the group sooo useful with my first little one! Let me know πŸ₯°

How is everyone? Any symptoms yet?

TW: Previous loss - all ok with this one.

Hello ladies,

Been quiet due to nausea and fatigue.. and also crippling anxiety. I had an MMC earlier this year and was having trouble handling the worry.

Anyway, private scan today showed a very wriggly baby and measuring 10+2 (should be 10+0 according to LMP) with a good heartbeat. So relieved I had to fight off crying in the scan room.

I know I'll feel anxious at my 12 week scan in 2 weeks, but passing the gestation stage of my loss feels like a huge mental milestone.

I can't share my joy with anyone outside of this thread as we're not telling anyone until 12 weeks at the very earliest, so came here to share with you ladies.

Good luck to everyone with scans coming up!

Goldilocksthreebears · 30/12/2025 16:51

I so relate to you @JennyTig and happy for you that you’ve reached that milestone !! I am 5w4d and as I’ve also had a past MC (at 8 weeks) I’m anxious to get past that milestone! I have a scan in 8 days and I cannot wait it feels like forever away!

And I am also finding it hard to keep it a secret for so long! Hope we all have healthy pregnancies and babies! πŸ’•

JennyTig · 30/12/2025 18:53

@Goldilocksthreebears thank you! Early pregnancy feels so long, these milestones help so much mentally.

Enjoy your scan next week and let us know all about it afterwards :)

Looking forward to being able to tell people too. I'm running out of excuses for being tired/sick/unavailable for wine evenings..!

Goldilocksthreebears · 30/12/2025 21:10

@JennyTig Thank you! Will do :)
Yes lol I feel like I can’t even say I’m tired too much or I fear family will start guessing!

Faithincats · 31/12/2025 15:30

My heart goes out to all you ladies who have been dealing with loss or are in the midst of uncertainty 🩷

After lots of umming and ahhing after being told by our EPU and the Tommy's clinic that they wouldn't offer an early scan (three previous losses and a rainbow baby), we decided to go for a private one. We saw a heartbeat and blob is measuring two days ahead of what we expected, at 7w5d. Feeling relieved that things seem to be moving in the right direction and tentatively hopeful for the 12 week scan, in a few weeks' time πŸ™

Lovely to read the latest updates of positive scans x

Hi all

Can I ask for advice please
This is my first pregnancy and feeling a little lost.

Based on my LMP im at 6+3, but I think I ovulated late as I do have a peak LH test that would put me on 5+3.
(I have known since the day of my missed period via 2 faint positive tests and then a positive digital)

Im feeling a bit like this isnt true, and cant fully believe it. Part of me thinks a scan would add a bit of certainty? But is it too early? I could go at the weekend and that would be bang 6 weeks. Is it still too early, Am i best of waiting until at least 7 weeks?

Hi,
congratulations! I would ideally aim for the scan to be at about 6+2 or 6+4.
in my first pregnancy I had no symptoms and had a feeling this isn’t real until 12W scan and still on and off disbelief till I started feeling movements, it’s quite common to feel this way.

Dotty23 · 01/01/2026 14:08

Hi all,

Hope it’s okay me jumping on here too. I’m 8 weeks 4 days today and suffering immensely with nausea and vomiting. I had been on Cyclizine before Christmas but it made me into a zombie so came off and Doctor can’t get me in until 6th January which has felt like forever.

I have a toddler to look after too which has been hard but luckily my husband been off at Christmas too. I’ve already decided I won’t be going into work next week either with how I feel.

I had a MMC in February so lots of anxiety around that too.

Due date is 10th August I believe!

bigbaggyblue · 02/01/2026 10:17

@Dotty23 hey :) same due date as me. Could you speak to GP about Xonvea? I was the same as you from week 6 just before and cyclzine and promethasine did nothing for me and was off work but Xonvea has saved me!!!

LPiper · 02/01/2026 13:03

Hi all. 6+1 today, so just booked my booking appointment. Feeling a bit nervous, as I miscarried at 4/5 weeks last time, so ive booked a viability scan for Sunday for reassurance 🀞. Nausea started at 4w on the dot, and I have some fatigue and breast soreness too, so things seem to be pointing in the right direction. Should be due end of Aug based on LMP

Hey!

I spoke to the pregnancy sickness support team before Christmas who said that it isn’t available in my area so not keeping out hope for it unfortunately. I’m quite a β€œtired” person anyway so I really don’t need any help with that haha. I’ve got quite a fast paced job too so just can’t imagine going in feeling like I do!

Had my booking appointment today and mentioned it to the midwife and she just said contact your GP.

How lovely we are due date twins haha!

bigbaggyblue · 02/01/2026 21:41

@Dotty23it blows my mind how it’s a postcode lottery! I know one lady on this thread I believe got a prescription through 111 so could always try that if your GP can’t help and you feel you need something! I know it’s tough, I’m not sure if the xonvea makes me more tired or this is just pregnancy tiredness πŸ˜‚

Genuine question because I’m having my first and have no prior experience of midwives, what is the actual point of them? I’ve read so many comments and experienced myself my midwife telling me to go to my GP or ask my GP when I tell them about a problem? Seems like all they do is paperwork and no actual healthcare!

ThisGiddySeal · 03/01/2026 21:10

@Clarysjb midwives are experts in pregnancy and pregnant women. They know all the things that can happen in pregnancy and they know the signs to look out for. They meet you fairly regularly so they can keep an eye out for anything that may be happening - things you may not have noticed yourself. They do much more than just paperwork.

Sometimes they have to send you to your GP for prescribing certain medicines etc., especially in early pregnancy, but General Practitioners are not the experts in this field of medicine, midwives are.

Hi all, just checking in here. 9 weeks today and the nausea has been kicking my ass since 5 weeks. I honestly couldn’t even enjoy the Christmas period, and I feel such immense mom guilt for not being the mom I want to be right now. Every morning I wake up and the nausea just gets worse as the day goes on! Oddly, I do think this nausea isn’t nearly as bad as with my firstborn. Really hoping it lets up soon. Had a scan at 7+6 and all looked good. I have my 10 week scan next week (they do 10 week dating scan here in Canada).

anyway just wanted to vent and commiserate a bit!

linzi899 · 06/01/2026 17:49

9 weeks was the peak for me, so hopefully it eases up for you soon! Agree Christmas wasn't the most enjoyable, I had to take myself off for a nap after the food, and I couldn't eat much.

11 weeks today and the nausea feels more manageable (relatively of course, if I wasn't pregnant I'd be thinking I wasn't well at all πŸ˜…) and had been easing since 10 weeks, but the fatigue is kicking my butt still.

LoveYouHoneybear · 07/01/2026 16:40

@JennyTigthanks so much for replying- yes, 9 weeks is the pits! I can’t wait to be in double digits. Puking in the shower this morning was a new low πŸ˜‚

Hi Ladies!

How are you all doing?

I had my 12 weeks scan today and all went well, just hoping the phone doesn't ring in the next 3 days meaning not high risk on trisomy.

Feels good to have passed the stage of my loss last summer, and once the results are back in I'll hop into the WhatsApp group :)

Glad to hear all is well, I’ve never had a 12 week scan before, so do they do the scan and not tell you anything until the bloods come back or do they tell you on the day there doesn’t seem to be anything wrong?

I asked if the NT was within normal range, which the sonographer confirmed - with the caveat that it will be combined with blood test results for the final assessment.

They also gave me a printout with all of the readings and measurements on, and confirmed my official due date (now at the end of July as I measured a few days ahead)

If high risk I'll get a phonecall within 3 days, and if not high risk I'll get a letter and update in badger notes in 1-3 weeks.

I was so nervous too!

I mentioned my history before she started and she confirmed baby and heartbeat within 5 seconds.

Wishing you all the best with your scan too.

Wherestheteenguide · 13/01/2026 15:14

@JennyTig glad scan went well. Mine is next week and I'm counting the days. I've had virtually no symptoms so I can't quite believe I'm pregnant! Had two early losses before this one so hopefully this one is sticking around!

Tes004 · 13/01/2026 18:21

Hey ladies - I hope you don’t mind me joining. I had a scan at epu today and was dated less than I thought but due to ovulation being later - yolk sac confirmed in one sac and another dark area where they said it could be a 2nd sac or a sch (bleed) - couldn’t see very well and struggled due to tiled uterus - im now in the 2 week wait again to check if baby 1 progresses to heartbeat and if number 2 exists or if I’m to expect a bleed from the SCH - anyone have any experience in this - measuring 5w2days but had positive tests 2 weeks ago. Midwife said that a 2nd pregnancy could have been why I tested positive so early when comparing dates …
