Starting a new thread and hope it will fill up in the next few weeks

I am a bit nervous starting this group as I am still SO early, only just testing positive this morning at 9DPO, ive taken 3 tests just to be sure. Hoping for a sticky bean, I am not a stranger to chemical pregnancies so really keeping everything crossed, its so nerve wracking!

I've gone off 'conception date' rather than LMP as I ovulate late, and for me, its more accurate - this brings me to due date 1st August 2026.

If others would like, I can start a Facebook group, maybe in a few weeks, I found the group sooo useful with my first little one! Let me know 🥰

You would think so @givingitanothergo, but I was told by our EPAU this morning that it's only there for emergencies now and they no longer offer scans to people who have a history of pregnancy loss. Used to but it was deprioritised, presumably due to budget cuts. The only way they'll give me a scan (three previous losses followed by a healthy baby, who they didn't know about when we had this conversation), is if a consultant says I need one... To be referred by a consultant I'd first have to be referred TO a consultant by the GP, so who knows how long that would take. It's disappointing and frustrating on a personal level but also sad to be told that they don't deem women who have had recurrent loss to be a priority when it comes to their services 💔

@Faithincats theyre all so different though aren’t they? I’ve seen some you can just self refer. Mine says to contact your GP or midwife for a referral

I’m only just 6 weeks today so haven’t referred myself into midwife services yet. I don’t know if I should do that now or wait til I know everything’s ok. With my first loss I went through the whole booking appointment then not long after was miscarrying and the letter for my 12 week scan showed up that same week even though I’d let them know I’d MC 😭

I was feeling okay about things earlier today but now I feel negative and down again :(

I think it depends on your trust as to whether the EPU will scan you for recurrent loss. I rang mine direct and they booked me in straight away no questions for a scan at 6w2d I have a follow up scan tomorrow. I’ve had 6 losses in total and they have always been happy to get me in early for a check after my 3rd loss. I imagine if I had to go gp route it would be a nightmare of red tape

I was wondering if I could get some help. I am 13dpo today. Took a test in the evening and found to be BFN. Just decided to take a picture and see in inverted mode. Am I only imgining a faint line? Please help!!

@Aquarius93 im still bleeding , like a mild period - it’s more than spotting it not a heavy period . I’m having to wear pads etc. I didn’t get this with either of my first two. So anxious being on holiday too as I literally just have to wait and see how it goes. How have you been today? Did you say it’s your third too? X

@1sttimemummn the waiting is just awful isn’t it? How long are you on holiday for? Fingers crossed for you that all turns out okay. Are you getting cramps too? I’m still getting spotting - it’s been a week now and pretty much the same throughout so I guess no sign of stopping yet. And yes this is my third too :)

Does anyone else having their third feel more nervous about telling people? I think everyone just assumes that because I have two children (plus ‘one of each’) that we won’t be having anymore.

@Aquarius93 yes I'm so much more worried about telling people and what they'll think this time. I think lots of people think two is 'enough'. But, loads of families have three children!

@Aquarius93Yes, not looking forward to telling anyone 😂 I know my family will be happy after an initial reaction of shock and “why?”

@Aquarius93 its a horrible waiting came isn’t it! Not particularly I have had some in off period type pains but so mild, nothing at the moment. Yes!! I Tod my family in the end as I was sure I was mis carrying so it sort of made it easier to tell them I’m nervous to tell others though, feels really different this time! I also keep getting a little panic that if everything is ok what if it’s a multiples pregnancy! 👀 you hear of stories of people going for their third and having twins / triplets. I’m sure it isn’t but just one of those things that is obviously a possibility. I get home form holiday Sunday but then I am supposed to be flying to a wedding the next day. I was already nervous as I’ve only left the both the boys once for less than 24 hours . I won’t be able to go if I’m still bleeding as I need to be seen. Xxx

Glad I’m not the only one feeling that way! Multiples hadn’t crossed my mind though 😂

Multiples are on my mind too. My brother and SIL tried for a third and had twins!

Had my scan this morning heart beat is strong and measuring one day ahead ❤️ now have to hang about the hospital for my booking appointment at 1

The dr who said he referred me to epau didn’t do it because he couldn’t work out how to do it? A receptionist called me today to tell me but thankfully got a different dr to sort it out. Have spoken to epau and got an appointment for tomorrow morning. At least I might hopefully know either way what’s going on tomorrow 😭

I'll tentatively join if thats ok. Had an early scan today - my lmp puts me at 7w3d, but the scan was 6w4d. The sonographer seemed happy and we had a heartbeat but I wont rest easy until I'm past the 1st trimester.

givingitanothergo if you're 6 weeks now can you refer to the midwife and ask them to refer you to the EPU? I've never found the GP to be particularly useful in early pregnancy

@Sabrinatheblue they are a bit rubbish aren’t they. I’m glad the one I spoke to today did refer me in the end and I have an appointment at epau tomorrow to see I hope?

Today we had a day out and today was a day of mega nausea episodes. I was really trying to pull it together, managed to hold it, but few hours later it returned not as hard but it’s been dragging for hours now. It’s evening now and I can feel it still lingering.

I started bleeding much more heavily yesterday. I’ve done a test this morning to confirm it was a chemical pregnancy.

I’ll bow out of this thread now but wishing everyone else a healthy pregnancy ❤️

Some bleeding for me this morning too. I'm only 5w+2. Just going to have to wait it out and see what happens but... I don't know. I feel like I've been here before. Twice. This year. So... I think I know how this is probably going to end.

well my scan was not good news unfortunately, so I’ll also be out of this thread now.
Apparently it’s an ectopic pregnancy, so glad I pushed for that referral now
