Hey, anyone else due July 2026? I got my first faint positive at 10dpo on Thursday 23rd October, I’m now 14dpo/4 weeks pregnant. Feeling nervous as still very early my period was due tomorrow. I’ve booked an early scan for in a few weeks so hopefully everything is all good, now just an anxious wait

@Allsigns oh wow, glad it went well! 16 days forward is a lot - how many weeks does that make you now?

Totally understand you and @nekophoenix wanting to leave it as late as possible. My company offer unlimited holiday (doesn’t quite work like this in practice) so I’m hoping to use my annual statutory allowance to take most of June off as we can’t really roll it over. It’s not a great benefit šŸ˜‚

Scan today, they moved me forward 16 days! Was a much more developed bub in there than I was anticipating. Still in the July club though. Was so lovely to see it wriggling around. Made it all very real.

Told work a few weeks ago as I've been really struggling with screens making me feel sick and wanted them to understand why my working hours suddenly changed. WFH having some benefits that I'm not having to hide a bump.

Hadn't thought about when to start mat leave at all, think I'm agreed on as late as possible. DH and I are hoping to take shared parental leave, so keen not to take anything before the birth if I can help it so can maximise the time before we need childcare.

Oh wow 16 days?! Big baby or was there uncertainty earlier on with dates? I have ZERO work appropriate trousers that fit me at the moment and am now starting to bust out boobs wise of remaining floaty dresses ffs. WFH making it easier as only need limited office outfits for the 3 days I am in each week but wow…

StartingAgainmama · 09/01/2026 07:15

Iv definitely popped in past 5 days, Iv been looking on line for longer length tops and loose dresses without success lol

@blossomhoney2 i told work when I was 6 weeks as we’ve had loads of redundancies and if my name was on a list somewhere, I wanted them to think it was too risky to have me on it! Obviously you can still be made redundant when pregnant but the positives of telling them out weighed any negatives for me.

Anyone already counting down to mat leave starting? Hoping to take June as holiday and start mat leave 1st July.

God yes to counting down to mat leave! I have no concerns about being bored until the very last few weeks when I’m probably less mobile and energetic

blossomhoney2 · 10/01/2026 08:10

my husband gets a few months of paternity leave, seriously considering going to Australia / SE Asia for a couple of months over next Christmas with the baby and our 3.5 year old - are we mad? I’ve forgotten what it’s like with a 4/ 5 month old baby.

I told HR at work I am pregnant, we have a big team meeting in 2 weeks time and I feel like my bump is going to be very visible by then so figured I need to start saying something to people now. I’m hoping my mat cover isn’t better at the job than me so that people will be glad to have me back - does anyone else get paranoid about this type of thing?

We are hoping to do a European holiday at 3/4 months and then maybe something more ambitious at 7/8 months. Having just returned from 3.5months travelling WITHOUT kids (and having previously travelled for 14months in my twenties) despite loving travel (particularly long haul), I now really love home comforts and am not underestimating how much I will enjoy the cosyness of my house, town and community in those early stages. I’d say it is doable but unsure how enjoyable - proper ā€˜travelā€ is challenging enough sometimes! Could you not make concrete plans but be flexible enough to do so if you feel ready / prepared at the time?

Limmers14 · 10/01/2026 21:21

@blossomhoney2 I think that’s a great idea! You can totally do it, it’s just about the prep and taking your time.

DH and I backpacked for a year back in 2018/2019 and there were so many families and babies in carriers. There weren’t a huge amount of British people doing it, lots of Scandis though! DH and I have just booked Thailand for New Years, baby will be 5.5ish months. Planning a beach vacay and then a few nights in Bangkok. Follow Claire Kennedy on Instagram. She just went to Thailand and Oz with her three kids under 5!

nekophoenix · 11/01/2026 17:28

How is everybody feeling / doing?

We have started to tell family in person finally and reactions have been very sweet.

Although, a male member of my family (who I am not super close to, not that this matters, but for context) reached out and touched my stomach under the table and I said sternly ā€œYOU CANNOT TOUCH ANYONE’S BELLY WITHOUT THEIR CONSENT ESPECIALLY NOT A PREGNANT WOMAN - NOT EVEN MY HUSBAND WHOSE CHILD IT IS, IS ALLOWED TO DO THATā€. It genuinely shocked me that people actually do that. He was very apologetic and I am glad that I set boundaries with family there to see but honestly, surprised I have had to do it so soon.

In other news, H&M before and after trousers have arrived and are good to have their first work outing tomorrow. Also ordered a secondhand bumpsuit and it’s been comfy already and I only just have a small bump, so think it will see me through nicely!

Having reviewed I have no idea where 16 days came from. Someone said it at the hospital, but it's 6 days! There shouldn't have been any uncertainty as I had a scan at 7 or 8 weeks as well after some abdo pain and bleeding. So maybe a big baby?! The last one was 9lb2 so I'm hoping this one isn't bigger than that šŸ˜…

Allsigns · 11/01/2026 20:38

@blossomhoney2 We're having the same chat šŸ˜ might see you there!! We flew longhaul for a wedding when #1 was 4.5 months and it was a really positive experience. Will be more of a headache with a 7&5 year old in tow but think it'll be totally worth it.

The backpacker in me wanted to do 2 weeks in Asia seeing family, 2 weeks in Oz seeing friends then another 2 weeks in Asia just us. Thought it would be a nice way to get to Oz without doing a mammoth flight, plus means we'd get to see loads and make the most of the trip. However the mum in me thinks heading to one location for the full time, bedding in and just spending time together surrounded by sun, sand and sea with a spot of sightseeing locally sounds blissful!

scottishGirl · 12/01/2026 15:27

So my 12w scan had to moved to today from last Monday due to the crazy weather conditions we have had in Aberdeenshire....

All looking good! Everything normal. Measuring 13w 2 days, I thought it was 13 + 1 so pretty much the same. What a relief!

MaybePossiblyMaybe · 12/01/2026 20:24

Anybody else on aspirin? I got my PAPP-A results back yesterday and they were low, so I've been asked to start aspirin. I didn't get tested for it in my first pregnancy, so I don't know if I had it last time too (GP last time said I could have screening bloods or NIPT, not both, this time a different GP said that if I was willing to pay for both I could have both)

AmberRose26 · 12/01/2026 21:29

@MaybePossiblyMaybe i am on asprin, due to my age and some other factors it’s a precaution as I am high risk for pre-eclampsia, although all my tests came back fine , so I am not sure whether to query and only take aspirin if I start to develop signs of pre-eclampsia or just continue to take them, I just worry when I lead up to birth, the advice I was given was it’s ok to take them right up to the birth but others have been told until around 36 weeks due to risk of excess bleeding at birth ?! So I might ask to stop early.. when were your told you can continue until ?

MaybePossiblyMaybe · 13/01/2026 01:15

I was told till 36 weeks, but I'm also a high risk of a C section, so I don't know if they're being cautious because of the possibility of surgery at the other end

Phoenix321 · 13/01/2026 06:30

Also on aspirin here due to my age and that I have a more than 10 year pregnancy interval - definitely should be stopped at 36 weeks.

AmberRose26 · 13/01/2026 08:11

@MaybePossiblyMaybe @Phoenix321 thanks for replying , I’ll definitely be requesting to stop at 36 weeks, it just makes sense.

Phoenix321 · 14/01/2026 06:35

How is everyone else feeling at the moment? My last pregnancy was 16 years ago and I can't remember what it felt like to be pregnant but I am already uncomfortable (feels like my tummy is popping) and very tired. Probably because I am much older this time but feel like it's really going to take it's toll on my body this time!

SoftLaunch · 14/01/2026 07:49

@Phoenix321 ive been feeling more lightheaded and am catching every bug going but I think I can blame both of those on having a toddler to chase around! I think I'm probably remembering my first pregnancy with rose tinted glasses as well now šŸ˜…

How far along are you? I busted the maternity leggings out at 11 weeks this time. I've not 'popped' yet but my bump (bloated belly...) is already further out than my boobs so feeling massive compared to last time too.

I treated myself to some beyond nine jeans and they look lovely but feel quite uncomfortable- I'm hoping that's just because of the bloating and that they'll feel better once the bump is properly here as it was an expensive purchase to not love them!

Phoenix321 · 14/01/2026 08:33

@SoftLaunch I'm 14 weeks today. Already using tubigrip around my abdomen to help 'lift' the pressure off my front and lower back. Living in my daughter's leggings at the moment and bought one pair of maternity jeggings from Matalan that were a bargain at £4.50 in the sale but also uncomfortable. Can't find anything in high street stores which if different to when I was pregnant many years ago so holding off the faff of online maternity clothes shopping and returning if not right until I absolutely have to!

jw97 · 15/01/2026 14:42

I feel like I didn’t have a bad ride in the first trimester barring a few weeks where I went off most food and had a very beige diet. I’m almost 13 weeks and I feel like it’s getting worse! šŸ˜… I’m struggling with pregnancy insomnia, lower back pain and just feeling generally crap now! Not really any sickness, just if I don’t eat early enough I start feeling lightheaded and I’m very hungry!

already wondering how I’ll last another 4ish months (I plan to take earlier mat leave than is common these days)

please say it’s not just me šŸ˜‚

JennyTig · 17/01/2026 10:16

Hi all, my dates have changed during my 12 week scan. I've been in the August group mainly because my lmp meant 1st August but now dated to end of July.

I did comment here a few weeks ago but everyone seemed so far ahead of me at the time!

Wondering if there's a WhatsApp or Facebook group for ladies due in July that I could join?

Phoenix321 · 17/01/2026 13:53

@JennyTig I think there is a fb group but I don't have the link - it will be back on this thread somewhere or I'm sure someone will come along and repost the link. Feels like it's taking ages to get to midwife appointment after my 12 week scan. Hopefully everything will be ok with little bean. Have had some cravings, mainly for banana milkshake, fruit and avocado, tomato and mozzarella. I work part time but usually pick up extra shifts but haven't the last few weeks (although I could do with the extra money!) and instead keep having a day time nap on my days of. Hope all is ok with everyone else.

AmberRose26 · 17/01/2026 16:19

@Phoenix321 i also work part time in mornings only and every day I have come home .. ate then slept for about 3 hours ! I feel so tired, I thought 2nd trimester I was meant to get more energy šŸ˜‚ still waiting on that haha

nekophoenix · 18/01/2026 05:42

Hello everyone - now past 16 weeks over here šŸ‘‹šŸ¼

My current situ may give hope to those some weeks behind still with symptoms.

Haven't vomited since December (yay!) and nausea has really eased to ravenous stomach turns first thing (although sometimes as early as 3:45am - not ideal - or 5am like today). Plain cereal asap does the trick. I’ll take it after how grim some of the early days were for me.

Exhaustion has also eased to normal levels - I ā€œdroppedā€ my afternoon nap over Xmas. I am tired after a long work day or weekend activities but only slightly more than would have been normal for me pre-baby! I have quite an intense job (and 12 hour days are not uncommon) so I tend to have a power-through mentality / I am used to it, which helps.

There is defo a small low bump but I haven’t told work yet. Don’t really know what I am waiting for and not worried about telling them, but would prefer to be seen as my usual self for a bit longer. I imagine circa 20 weeks is where I will get to before the bump makes it tricky.

Vinted has me in a choke hold - it has been great to stock up on a capsule wardrobe for reasonable prices (H&M maternity jeans, some Isabella Oliver tops and some floaty dresses from Rixo / Pink City Prints in the size above what I would usually get).

How are you all doing?

Is anyone needing to look at nurseries yet due to high demand in their area?!

Solidstart · 18/01/2026 10:17

I’m 13 weeks now, and just so exhausted still. All feeling a bit more real after my 13 week scan earlier this week as well as getting my NIPT results back. @nekophoenix im hoping I get my energy levels back soon like you have, I too often have long work days and just power through and hate the feeling that I can’t right now.

Was there a fb group link that someone can repost? I had problems with it previously but really now at the point where connecting with others at the same point as me would help me mentally! So I’m keen to try the link again.
