Hey, anyone else due July 2026? I got my first faint positive at 10dpo on Thursday 23rd October, I’m now 14dpo/4 weeks pregnant. Feeling nervous as still very early my period was due tomorrow. I’ve booked an early scan for in a few weeks so hopefully everything is all good, now just an anxious wait

I'm not sure how much I've put on but was shocked to learn that I was 10kg heavier at booking that I was with my last pregnancy 16 years ago! I think I only put on around 10-12kg with my previous pregnancies and am really hoping it's no more this time. I've survived the weekend with family without raising suspicion I think-was very tricky, first thing upon arrival was a toast of champagne but through a combination of dp covertly drinking my drinks and replacing them with nosecco and me spitting a gulp out in the sink I think we've got away with it! Can't wait to come back in January after the 12 week scan and let the cat out the bag-don't think they'll be expecting it!

Has anyone started using a pregnancy pillow yet? I’m normally a stomach sleeper and I’m so uncomfortable at night. My partner says it’s too early but he just hates how much space it takes up in the bed šŸ˜‚

I haven’t as I am away from home atm but I am going to order a bbhugme on recommendation from friends. Definitely not too early to try and be comfy at night! I’m also a stomach sleeper and have been using second pillows to ā€˜prop up’ my top leg for the time being to make it slightly better.

AmberRose26 · 21/12/2025 11:18

Yeh that’s was like me, I was eating random things as it’s all I could stomach around 7-10.5 weeks, the nausea sickness put me off exercise, I downloaded an app ā€˜sweat’ it has a few pregnancy workouts on it so I am starting doing these. Hopefully that helps me loose a bit of what I gained 🫣

I had a baked Camembert and garlic bread ring followed by a handful of heroes for lunch so my weight gain is no real mystery šŸ˜‚ just hungry constantly atm and so much nice stuff around.

God this sounds divine, I've just sent my husband out for a subway šŸ˜†

nekophoenix · 21/12/2025 15:08

Besides the weight gain, I’m also finding that I have a low ā€˜pop’ of a belly starting to come through. It’s vaguely defined and at first I wasn’t sure - just thought it was the beige food I’ve been eating showing itself - but in the last few days it’s definitely made clear it is it’s own round mini-bump. Eek!

Has anyone started to tell family/friends yet?

AmberRose26 · 21/12/2025 19:19

Not yet we are going to wait around the 16-20 weeks mark when miscarriage risk is significantly lower,

SummerSolstice25 · 21/12/2025 19:25

Is there that much of a difference in risk between 12 weeks and 16 weeks? In one way I’d really like to wait until 20 weeks but it’s getting quite stressful keeping it a secret. I feel like it’s already really obvious now!

AmberRose26 · 21/12/2025 20:43

It’s only because we have had multiple miscarriages so to save the heartache of having to tell people again that we have had a loss , we are waiting, and only then it will just be close family /friends, I am not doing an announcement over socials etc, once baby is born is when everyone else will know šŸ˜…

we are just being super cautious and quite anxious so keeping on the low down as long as possible.

SummerSolstice25 · 21/12/2025 21:14

Yes I wouldn’t put a thing on social media myself either. I barely put up a wedding photo šŸ˜‚

Andrasa · 21/12/2025 22:05

we have told most family now as we’ve conveniently seen everyone over Christmas festivities, but I won’t be posting on fb etc for vague friends/acquaintances until after birth. I found having a hen do cringey enough without wanting to do a baby shower etc so no need for anyone but close friends to know. šŸ™‚

We've told a few people, mainly as I wanted to do it face to face, but with the caveat that it's still early days and so we're kinda optimistically cautiously excited. With it being #3 it's fun to see the shocked expressions in person šŸ˜‚ We kept it quiet till after the scan last time.

Babyno2duejuly2026woo · 22/12/2025 07:58

Due to a previous twin loss I planned to keep this baby a secret until 12 or even 16 weeks.

Then horrendous nausea hit and I had to tell my work, close family and some friends by around 8 weeks!

Has anyone started to tell family/friends yet?

Not yet although planning on telling my parents on Xmas day šŸ˜„ Will be 10w 3d and then will tell my partner's parents when we visit them boxing day. They don't live locally so decided we would tell them now so we can say it face to face. Other close family and friends we will tell after 12w scan. I will put something on social media but don't plan on this til much later on.

We've told parents and siblings, and will tell other family at Christmas. We are having a scan tomorrow and I'll be 10 weeks at Xmas but it will be so obvious there's no point in trying to hide it tbh!
We had a MMC in a previous pregnancy and all my family knew at that point already anyway, it wasn't pleasant having to tell people what had happened but personally I was happy with them knowing and being able to support us when we needed it. I know of course thats not for everyone though

jw97 · 22/12/2025 13:32

I’m 9+3 today and my nausea seemed to calm down over the weekend a fair bit. It wasn’t horrendous to begin with, but I feel more interested in ā€˜normal’ food now. I’m still getting out of breath and not sleeping well, but of course now I’m worried somethings wrong šŸ˜… seems a bit early for the symptoms to be going already…

EllieWales · 22/12/2025 14:10

I’ve started telling family as and when we’re seeing them over Christmas. I found my nausea started to settle over the last week or two @jw97I’m 11 weeks today. Such a relief to eat normal food!!

PBandJellySandwich · 22/12/2025 14:17

A bit late to the party, but can I join too?

I had a scan at 10 weeks yesterday showing in a few days ahead with baby wiggling away! I was so nervous after several previous losses (and one healthy DD) but it's starting to feel real now!

@jw97 my nausea settled for a few days last week and I was really worried, but now it's back in full force again! I think it can come and go for a while - with my DD it was on and off until about 16 weeks

LittleWrenUK · 22/12/2025 15:37

Sadly I've just had a miscarriage confirmed. Good luck everyone, hopefully I'll be lucky next time <3 xxx

blossomhoney2 · 22/12/2025 15:48

I’m so sorry @LittleWrenUK, I hope you’re ok and being supported by loved ones. I really hope your time comes soon šŸ’œ
