I don’t want this thread to be ruined by my negative experience, if you would feel more comfortable making a new thread or even just carrying on this one I will unfollow the thread now. I don’t want anyone to feel like they can’t share their positive news because of my post, I’m truly thrilled for you all and I’m blessed to have 3 gorgeous girls already. I wish you all the best of luck on your pregnancy journeys 💕

MuddyMoments · 10/07/2025 11:15

Hey everyone! How is everyone doing? Prepared for some more hot weather?

xTinkerbell · 10/07/2025 12:06

@MuddyMoments I’m dreading it.

We are heading to drayton manor next week and I can’t face the thought

We’ve just come back from Menorca and I was hoping to come back to some cool weather! It was 35 over there and I was struggling towards the end of the week!

I’ve never said this before but my god I can’t wait for the autumn! (I’d never go as far as saying I can’t wait for winter 😂).
Lucky me, I get to spend all day outside in the baking heat today, but I feel sorry for DD who has a sporting event (which is why I’ll be outside all day!). We have dioralyte on standby, plenty of suncream, water bottles, and I made DH go out and buy me a UV umbrella last night!

Hello Everyone, I’m also due in November with baby #1, a little boy. Had a private scan to determine sex at 16 weeks - has anyone else had a private scan and were they accurate?

With this one we aren’t finding out. With DS we found out at 20 weeks and had another private bonding scan around 30 weeks and they also confirmed he was a boy.

@breakfastdinnerandtea I’m normally a summer person through and through but I could do with a cool day or three. I was at the end of my pregnancy with my DS by the summer and it wasn’t great that year anyway.

breakfastdinnerandtea · 13/07/2025 20:38

As much as I don’t want to go back to work tomorrow (or for the GTT in the morning 😭) I’m so glad it’s air conditioned!!! My poor feet are swollen and I’ve literally just sat down all day. I’ve been under a parasol but my knees are burnt 🤦🏼‍♀️
On the bright side, my teenager came home with a medal and no heat sickness which I think is a massive win for her!

Nikkix86 · 22/07/2025 16:55

Hi all, feels like I haven't been on here in forever. I hope everyone is ok! I am 22 weeks tomorrow ☺️ time seems to be going quick and slow at the same time lol, I've really struggled with the heat the last few weeks. Have my whooping cough jab tomorrow and then midwife at 25 weeks. I've decided to finish work beginning of October I'm just so tired and I work in a nursery so it's full on so after this week I have 9 weeks left of work and counting!

MuddyMoments · 22/07/2025 17:59

@Nikkix86i had my whooping cough vaccine this morning! I’m 23 + 3 today! I’ve also struggled with the heat, i’m glad it’s getting cooler. Wow 9 weeks of work left isn’t long at all is it! Im going to try get to the end of Oct, I have a desk job but its my mental and multi-tasking skills im struggling with. I’m definitely slowing down! 🤣

Nikkix86 · 23/07/2025 15:05

I know it can't come soon enough I can't wait to finish work 😅 had my jab this morning and feeling fine luckily lol nothing now till my 25 week midwife appointment in 3 weeks. I'm also glad it's cooled down!

MuddyMoments · 23/07/2025 19:46

I’ve been floored today, doctor doesn’t think it’s my jab but that it may not have helped! I’ve got proper flu 🤦🏼‍♀️ and feel so terrible. Doctors orders were bed rest for a few days, no work for the rest of the week, drink plenty and try get as much help with my 3 year old as I can! It just came on so fast over night last night- right when my partner works away Tues/Weds luckily he’s back later tonight. I can only take paracetamol and have to keep an eye on baby’s movements. All I need.

Nikkix86 · 24/07/2025 23:14

Aw I'm so sorry to hear you are so poorly I've been feeling awful today too my arm has swollen up like a balloon, I've been so tired and weak today and I work in a nursery so that was not fun today I felt so rough! So glad it's Friday tomorrow

Hello - today I was told I have major placenta previa, complete coverage of the cervix. To say I’m devastated is an understatement - I wanted more than anything to try for a VBAC and it’s not looking likely (posterior, complete coverage and 1 previous C-section).

I’m reading so many stories online and I am sat in tears terrified that something is going to happen to me and my daughter will be without her Mummy 😢 and of course the thought of my baby boy being born poorly/too soon and needing to go to NICU.

I didn’t get much info from sonographer other than ‘be careful if having sex’ and Dr Google is just giving me anxiety!

has anyone been through similar? I’m very scared

I'm really sorry to hear you are going through that I know it's such a worry. Have you been told you will have another scan later on? I know most of them do move up but not all the time, I think you just need to take it really easy, don't do any lifting, rest as much as you can etc but I know how worrying it is x

Yes I’m really scared 😢I have a 4yo too and I’m trying to explain to her that I can’t lift her up or out of anything.. I’m going to try taking it easy.

they said I will be rescanned at 32 weeks, but from what I’ve read, having a posterior placenta and previous c-section there’s not much chance of it moving. I’m so sad x

I would really recommend reaching out to your midwife & ask any questions directly there rather than googling and torturing yourself with horror stories. They should really be happy to help and to give you all the info you can have!

I was told at my 20 week scan that my placenta is low, so not as severe as yours, and will also be rescanned at 32 weeks, they were optimistic mine would move by then but did say if I wanted to chat about it then I could make an appointment to do so, I assume that’s the case everywhere so I would definitely reach out x

Nikkix86 · 25/07/2025 15:27

Yeah definately don't Google I know it's hard but it will only make you panic more. Definately speak to the midwife to see if she can put your mind at ease xx

BessieBye · 26/07/2025 08:51

Thank you so much everyone. Trying to take each day as it comes xx
