Hi all!

So thrilled to be here after 11 years of trying we are
going for our 12 week scan this week after naturally conceiving.

I'm stressed (normal right) as my symptoms are minimal. We
have had 3 scans thanks to the fertility unit all show a healthy
'perfect' baby (their words) however since the last one 3 weeks ago l've barely had any symptoms. Slight headaches and constipation which is normal for me.
I keep thinking I surely can't be so lucky that we fall naturally and I don't have any bad symptoms so obviously my head goes to the negative.

Why do we do this to ourselves

Oh this is lovely ☺️ congratulations!

It’s hard not to worry isn’t it. Best of luck for your 12 week scan 😊

I don’t know whether to call the hospital or not I’ve not been able to keep anything down today apart from toast just now even with my meds. I’ve been trying to drink even if it’s come straight back up very aware I’m at the risk of dehydration. But not sure whether to just call first thing once little one at school

Moosey898 · 23/06/2025 19:06

@Sunshinemoom sorry you're feeling so rough! Are you already on strong medication for the sickness? If not I would phone but they will likely say to try changing meds. One day of vomiting is unlikely to cause issues but always better to phone and check. Hope you're feeling better soon x

Already on 2x doxylamine and x3 prochlorperazine times a day. Had been working but the last couple days been sick more I put it down to the heat. But today nothing has worked! I was hoping to be the other side of it now as I’m 12 weeks tomorrow! I’ll give them a call see what they say. I wasn’t sure if they just say see GP in the morning. Thank you! X

Ugh it's so horrible when you're hoping for it to end and it doesn't! I hope you get a natural fade out of symptoms soon. Worth a call to check in and at least there's a log of it then as well if you call back a couple of days later x

Celina94 · 23/06/2025 21:19

Sending solidarity as also struggling with the all day sickness over here. On a medication called Xonvea which seems to be reducing the vomiting but the relentless nausea is just pure torture. Second pregnancy - my first in 2022 I was nauseous and vomitting everyday all day until I gave birth but the hope that it would end at some point was always there… this time feels so much harder because I know there’s the possibility of it going on until January 💔💔

Yeah I think what threw me is I had a couple days last week feeling ok and not really sick just for it to do a 360. I spoke to the hospital last night they said to come in today if still the same for IV fluids they said no worth the risk with it being hot as well. X

Oh it’s the worse it really is. See if they can put you on prochlorperazine as well that really helped me combined with docylamine (Brand name is Xonvea). I hope it doesn’t last all the way throughout for you this time. I really wouldn’t wish it on anyone! My first pregnancy I just had the sickness but was standard morning sickness nothing like this 😭

I'm glad they're taking it seriously for you. When I had IV fluids before it was like magic in helping me feel better.

Yeah I’m happy they did as well. I really wasn’t sure if I was overacting or not. I’m here now just waiting blood results to come back then they start IV fluids!

Jadeypie · 24/06/2025 12:13

Hope the iv fluids are working for you and make you feel more alive @Sunshinemoom xx

Ive been spewing last three days so now im thinking its just morning sickness. I just feel like my stomach's gone so tight food isn't fitting in and thats why I end up bringing it up. Had soup before really enjoying it then as soon as I finished it was right back out and now I feel starving again.....crnt win I thought I was iver the the sickness xxx

Thankfully it helped so much. I’m home now but I’m happy I went the hospital was so good so supportive. Told me to contact my GP to be signed off to help me rest.

oh no I’m sorry to hear that 😭😭 how have you been today? It really is rubbish isn’t it xx

Nausea has hit me like a tonne of bricks, similar timing to my last pregnancy.. which fills me with dread as I was vomiting to around 20 weeks.

have been prescribed Prochlorperazine as cyclizine was wiping me out, fingers crossed these don’t do the same. I’ve a wedding to attend on Thursday and I am absolutely dreading it!

Sorry the nausea has hit you!! Hopefully it doesn’t last as long this time round.

prochloreprazine is good but it can make you drowsy. When I first took it. Definitely took me a week or so to get used to how it made me feel.

BunMum26 · 25/06/2025 08:20

I had my midwife booking appointment on Friday and a very last minute scan on Saturday after I told my midwife I had had spotting on a few occasions. Scan looked great, baby was dancing away and wouldn’t keep still, strong heartbeat ♥️ measuring at 10weeks.

12 week scan booked in for 2 weeks today!

when is everyone planning on finishing work? I’m due somewhere between 16th-19th Jan. I have annual leave booked over Christmas so I finish on the 19th December, due to go back in on the 5th Jan. I want to start my Mat leave as late as possible but also don't really fancy going back in to work for a week or 2 after Christmas! I’m trying to save another week of annual leave if possible so I can take it after Christmas, but then my friend said to go back for 2 weeks and then take the AL once baby is here and give me another week with them. I’m so conflicted! Obviously I know this is all just plans and I might get to the end of pregnancy and be done, but it just feels a bit early to be going off at 35 weeks and not going back to work?

lifebeginz · 25/06/2025 09:05

I am 12 weeks tomorrow and thankfully the nausea has more or less subsided bar the odd gag moment if a smell hits me. But over the last couple of days the exhaustion has been next level!!! I can't put it into words.... also the thirst....jeez o. But I will take it over the nausea for sure. I had a good week with increased energy but it didn't last! My first scan is this coming Monday and I am counting the minutes!! I just can't wait to tell people at work. One Senior Manager knows but I just want it common knowledge as for now I am starting later in the day (on flex so it is ok but people are used to me being an early bird) and taking longer lunches. Also avoiding some tasks due to "a sore back" ha It will be much easier when people can just know

I am due the same time. My annual leave for Xmas starts the same time as yours, and I've decided to take annual leave up until 2nd jan and then start my maternity leave on 5th Jan when my kids are back at school. That should hopefully give me 2/3 weeks of peace and to get organised before baby's arrival. No chance I'd be going back to work for a week at the start of jan, and 1 week less mat leave in the grand scheme of things isn't much, plus my annual leave carries over so when I go back to work I'll have lots of leave to take anyway x

yeah that’s kind of what I’m thinking, I’m hoping I may have some annual leave left to take from the 5th and then maybe start maternity leave on the 12th.

Im using holidays what i have left and then start my mat whatever holidays I make while on mat I will use them at the end.

I wouldn't go bk for 2 weeks if I was you you'll be in nesting mode and want to get all your bits ready for baby plus give yourself some well deserved rest before the madness of a newborn starts hahs xxx
