Hi guys,

if like me you’ve just got your BFP, then it’s likely you’re due in January too!
congratulations.

Hoping to join too! Had a very pleasant surprise of a bfp this morning and feel like I need to tell someone other than DH!

This will be our first and feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment. We haven’t been solidly ttc and ironically (or not now!) I have a gynaecologist appointment that I’ve been on a 2 year waiting list for this week to investigate my irregular periods lol.

I think going by my last period I’ll be due early January, all going well. Exciting but nervy times!

Digby86 · 29/04/2025 14:56

Thanks @CandH35

yes I think you’re right that a digital might put my mind at rest a bit more. I’ll only be 4+5 based on LMP so wonder if getting to a 3 weeks + on digital would help reassure me all is on trac

need to not obsess 😂

no symptoms really. Have been quite cramps just on one side and very tired. But otherwise feeling alarmingly normal!

how about you? How have you been feeling?

anyone else contacted the midwife team yet? Wondering about calling them this week as I seem to recall it can take a few weeks to get the booking apppointment in and then you need various bloods done pre 10(?) weeks. But feels weird when it’s so early

If you do use a digital be aware they also date slightly differently, I got 2-3 week at around 4+6 or that's what I think I am. That was right according to the instruction book. They really don't make this stuff straight forward.

I feel a bit all over the place, but that could still be the shock haha. One moment I'm hungry and then the next day not. Yesterday I felt super energised and was down the gym but today tiered and I think had my first minor wave of nausea during a team meeting. Had a minor panic that I hadn't been washing any of my fruit or salad tonight and that could cause bacterial food poisoning. So silly as I've never been sick from the many years I haven't been washing fruit and vegetables.

I did a self referral form online at the weekend to the midwife but I think depending on area it can take a few weeks to hear back. I have 30- 35 day cycles so where you had to put the date of your last period it's going to look like I'm further along than I actually am.

MonsterBookOfTyson · 29/04/2025 20:59

@Rubyrubyrubyruby1234it feels like period cramps and sometimes a twinge but in different places of my abdomen. I did a big search and everything says as long as it's not severe and long lasting and no blood it is normal

Jadeypie · 30/04/2025 05:25

Hi everyone congratulations on all your positives 🥰

I got my bfp last Thursday I'm 4+5 today, been having hcg levels checked every 2 days due to a previous ectopic and miscarriage and numbers are flying! so I'm very pleased. I have a scan sat morning to check everything is in the right place. I've been a bag of nerves since finding out but I suddenly feel calm.

@CandH35 I'm the same i have the same cycle lengths. So I've gone from conception (we dtd once) instead of lmp otherwise I'm well further than I am x

Hi I can not join the group.

KLK94 · 30/04/2025 14:01

@MonsterBookOfTyson @MB1619 I think I made it too private to the point where you can’t see it even when invited. Silly. Let me change it when I get home and I’ll put a new link up

Tentatively joining please?
Got my BFP on Monday, not sure on dpo as my BBT went haywire this month but thinking I’m around 12/13dpo.
Im 38 with two children who are 17 and 13 and I’ve had two losses in the last year so I’m very nervous about this one progressing 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 Think I’m due around 10th Jan, my daughters 18th birthday is New Years Eve so it’ll be an interesting time 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

That sounds really tough, sorry to hear you're going through that. How are you feeling about the pregnancy?

KLK94 · 01/05/2025 07:09

@MB1619 this pregnancy was planned and my partner doesn’t want to talk about it either. I’ve tried engaging conversations and he’s just not into it at all, he’s actually been quite stroppy the last few days (found out a week ago) but says he isn’t.
it’s really hard for us because it’s almost all we can think about since we are growing a human and are already suffering symptoms. So it’s really crap when they don’t want to talk about it with us when it’s all we can think about.
I’m sorry your pregnancy wasn’t planned, our last wasn’t either, massive whoopsie. But I’m sure he will come around eventually

So glad to have come across this group! I first tested positive with a faint line last Saturday and I now have a strong positive and looking like due date is the 7th. How are everyone's tests looking at this point? Mine was faint on Saturday but now very strong with the clearblue early tests which detect the smaller amount of HCG!
This is my first pregnancy and we were trying so we are delighted. It does feel quite isolating though as I haven't told anyone else so it's great to find this group.
My only negative thought was worrying about having a baby so early in January after Christmas when everyone is exhausted, I was worried it was a rubbish birthday but I know that's a bit ridiculous and I'm just so lucky to be pregnant!!!
be amazing to all be in contact with updates throughout! Just praying this sticks after a chemical pregnancy last month 🙏🏼

Congratulations!! I am looking at a due date of the 5th, and the test I took 2 days ago looks the same as yours. I know what you mean about the isolation, I am so desperate to tell people but am also very conscious of how early it is. I was wondering whether it would be normal to request an 8 week viability scan? I thought this would be standard but my GP said the 12 week booking scan would be the first. The wait feels so long!

@ForCalmRobin oh that's so reassuring!! I actually thought my test was really strong for the 4 week 2 days I'm at... I was worrying it might be twins with it that strong 😂but I am using the clearblue 6 day early tests which detect lower amounts of the HCG.
So I have actually already booked a private scan at 7 weeks... I had a chemical pregnancy last month which was our first month of trying without protection.. and it broke my heart as it was my first time ever testing pregnant. I had quite heavy bleeding and it was tough which has made me more anxious this time after last month was bad. However I'm already past the point where I had it last month and all seems good so far!! No bleeding just quite a bit of white discharge.
I've been told by the scanning team that they can find a heartbeat at 7 weeks which shows the pregnancy is really progressing so that reassurance I think is amazing, instead of having to wait til 12 weeks... I'd do it if you can!

MonsterBookOfTyson · 02/05/2025 17:00

Im due 2/1 and getting 3+ on clearblues 2 days ago. I'm slightly concerned it's twins as all tests have been strong. Grin
This pregnancy was my husbands idea and he barely wants to discuss it. I think he doesn't want to get excited because of the previous mc and cp but it kind of feels like he's changed his mind.

RoseWin · 02/05/2025 19:26

Congratulations! Yes I thought the same
with my strong tests but are you using the 6 days early ones as they more sensitive?
similar situation with my husband actually.. wanted it so badly now I'm wanting to talk about it and he's not talking much about it so I asked why and he said he just doesn't want to get too excited because I had a chemical pregnancy last month (my first ever pregnancy) so he just doesn't want to believe it's real until it's certain that it's viable. It might be the same case with yours. It's tricky when they're the only person you tell at this point! That's why I was pleased to find this forum... I'm finding it difficult not chatting about it much when it's taking over 99% of my headspace!!

Rainbowmum32 · 03/05/2025 06:36

Hi everyone I’m due January 6th. This (hopefully) will be my second child, however my 7th pregnancy. I’ve had 6 miscarriages so feeling a bit nervous. I’ve never had a 2-3 weeks on a test this early before so hoping for another rainbow 🌈

I think our partners worry more than we know! That's why they go all quiet. My partner is the same. We have a early scan today so hopefully this will ease our nerves alot more.

@rainbowmum32 so sorry to hear about your miscarriages it's heartbreaking! I've had two myself so I completely get the nerves pregnancy isn't the same after a loss but we just take each day as it comes 🫠 xx
