Hi guys,

if like me you’ve just got your BFP, then it’s likely you’re due in January too!
congratulations.

Finally feeling brave enough to join the thread after silently stalking for weeks 😅
9 weeks today with my 4th pregnancy, no children yet and after a really scary bleed on the weekend I saw a little bean moving and waving today for the first time ever. Measuring 9+2 I can’t believe it! I was so prepared for bad news.

Glad to see some familiar names from some of the TTC threads I’ve been on. Hope everyone is doing well.

behindthelight · 17/06/2025 15:11

Congrats @Confusedmermaid1!!

We had our early scan today and saw a wriggly blob and heart beat too!

I've had multiple losses too but we do have a DS who is 5

Moosey898 · 17/06/2025 15:34

Hi @Confusedmermaid1 - pretty sure we've crossed paths on some other threads! Pleased your scan went well. It's terrifying going into a scan when you think something is wrong. Fingers crossed for a healthy pregnancy.

peps2917 · 17/06/2025 15:42

Has anyone been invited prescribed Cyclizine for the nausea? I have but worried about the side effects as I work in a school and it says it makes you drowsy. If anyone has tried it let me know pls! Desperate to have it as I’m feeling so awful and sick.

Moosey898 · 17/06/2025 15:54

@peps2917 I've been on it for 4-5 weeks. Even on the days I don't take it I'm exhausted as one of my pregnancy symptoms 😂 but thinking about it I don't think it's made me any more drowsy but it's a life saver with the vomiting and nausea. Can't function without it.

Confusedmermaid1 · 17/06/2025 20:29

@Moosey898 yes we have, so glad to see you had a positive scan as well! Fingers crossed for you too 🤞🏼 trying to stay positive but it’s tough isn’t it 😅

claire7007 · 17/06/2025 21:32

Eugh, I'm only 8 weeks (almost) and I'm sooo bloated that I look much further on! Thankfully I wear a baggy fleece at work which hides the worst of it!! I'm not planning on telling work as I finish working there in less than a month, but this bloating might give it away!

WanderWalker · 17/06/2025 23:36

peps2917 · 17/06/2025 08:05

@WanderWalker I feel your pain. I can’t even think about food - as soon as I start I want to vom. I don’t understand the whole cravings thing as I have zero cravings - only aversions!!!

what is everyone having for breakfast? I’ve not been able to figure out what I can eat. The only thing that doesn’t make me feel sick is apples 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

I can only stomach the same breakfast every day and it has to be as soon as I wake up. Greek yoghurt, with granola and honey. It seems to stay down too. Otherwise just fruit. If you can manage an apple at least it’s something 😊

Just trying to catch up on the chat.

So we had our 12 week scan today. I was having a meltdown all morning and was so nervous.

The lady who scanned us was honestly incredible. I’ve read horror stories over some people’s experiences (advice - don’t google it just makes you more anxious = lesson learnt), but she was amazing. Explained everything and was super reassuring.

Baby was super active that it took a few attempts to take their measurements as they kept wiggling around, but all looking good.

Turns out we are definately having a December baby though! Due the 28th, but a C section will be planned at 39wks so a Christmas baby. I am going to stay on this thread though as it’s nice to see familiar names popping up 😊

Google can be the worse and we’re all guilty looking stuff up making us more anxious I’m happy eveything went well in you scan! And congratulations on the Christmas baby. If my EDD stays the same I’ll be having my c section 28-31st December as well 🙈

seeingstars123 · 18/06/2025 07:54

Morning all! Had our second scan yesterday (due to previous losses), and all is looking well! Growth is as expected and heartbeat nice and strong again. So relieved after all the issues we’ve had, makes me feel I can start to trust in it now.

newbaby3 · 18/06/2025 08:18

Hi all
I had some pink/brown spotting last week and had a scan at EPU and all was well and funnily enough the spotting stopped. Since yesterday I have had more pink spotting and I’m worried but the spotting is no worse than it was last week. Not sure if it is worth contacting the midwife again or just to leave it as I have a scan booked in for next Tuesday anyway- and it took nearly a week for EPU to scan me last time. I’m still feeling sick/tired etc. I’v never had this before with my previous pregnancies, just not sure what to do for the best.

No harm in giving them a call if it’ll give you peace of mind.

Oh really! 😊 how are you feeling about having your baby around then? I was really worried to begin with because I have 2 children already and Christmas is always super busy. I’ve got my head around it now and going to get everything sorted for Christmas by October. I have heard some lovely stories of ladies who gave birth at that time of year saying it was magical with Christmas lights up and Christmas music playing, so that would be lovely. Hoping my local hospital is the same

I agree no harm giving them a call.

I had the same a few times in this pregnancy and never experienced it in previous pregnancies. My midwife did say it can be quite common although that does not stop the worry does it. I would just give them a call 😊

Hi All!

Just caught up with all of the posts in this thread, and what a rollercoaster of emotions! I am so sorry for those that joined full of hope and have sadly received bad news, I have been there myself many times and my heart goes out to you all.

I am due 25th January 2026, but midwife thinks I will be induced around 39 weeks. We are 8 weeks and 3 days today, and so far have had two private scans due to my terrible anxiety that something is going to go wrong - my partner jokes that I will still be testing at 37 weeks just in case (and at this point, it's probably not far from the truth haha).

There will be a 13 year age gap between my last child and this baby, so I feel like a novice again. We had been trying last year and experienced miscarriages and chemicals, after a 7 month pause, we have conceived on first month of trying which is another reason I keep thinking something is going to go wrong - surely it can't be this easy this time? But here we are, and so far everything is going exactly how it should. Any tips on relaxing? Being told to "just chill" isn't working.

peps2917 · 18/06/2025 16:43

@MumModeRebooted looks like we are matching! Also due on the 25th Jan so exactly 8 weeks and 3 days today. How are you feeling?

Aw congratulations and welcome 😊

I can’t give any miracle advice on the relaxing part unfortunately as I’m a bit of a worrier myself.

There will be 13 year gap between my last baby and this one too 😊 so completely understand what you mean. I feel like lots of things have changed, so trying to relearn things. X

Due in January. Anyone else been sick so much that they broke themselves? I burst a capillary in my eye.

Oh it makes your drowsy alright. But I'd take that over being sick anyday.

I had it’s didn’t work for me. I was then prescribed prochlorperazine and Doxylamine. I do remember cyclizine making me drowsy though but it was better than feeling sick. How are you getting on?

Bless you, it’s hard 😅 Not in my eye but burst little capillaries all around my eyes weeks 6/7, I had to wear makeup to hide it and usually bare faced.

Not sure it’s the healthiest recommendation but I stopped being sick the past week by drinking lucozade sport. Every time I have a wave of nausea I just take a swig.

I'm on anti sickness meds and on sick note for two weeks. Honestly, I am happy because I look a little scary, all the white in my eye is red. Look like a zombie.

How you finding the anti sickness! At least got a sick note a lot easier than having to go in!
