Hi guys,

if like me you’ve just got your BFP, then it’s likely you’re due in January too!

@elephantsneverforget19 well done on your health kick!! I done the same, lost over 6 stone and started running 3x a week fittest I've ever been I'm my life. Decided to give ttc a break then when we decided to give it one last go it happened. I'm convinced the health kick I've been on helped. I'm struggling now tho I've not been able to do runs and I have been picking loads because it's the only time I don't feel so so sick. So I feel all over the place xx

lifebeginz · 12/05/2025 07:27

It's an office day for me today and sods law it would be the first day I have felt a little 🤒.... 😫 currently sipping on my hot water with lemon and ginger.

I can relate totally - I’ve barely been to the gym since finding out. I’ve been feeling sick on and off and just extremely tired. It’s hard keeping up with things at the moment, isn’t it.

Jadeypie · 12/05/2025 10:57

@lifebeginz oh my sickness has kicked right off I'm sick from the moment I get up till I go to bed. I'm not actually sick but I think if I was at least I would get some relief from the nausea. I wasn't this bad with my ds. I just keep reminding myself well least the hormones are doing what they are supposed to do haha. Hope the tea helps xx

Oh no sorry to hear that! I hope you feel better soon. I have been not too bad so far but it is early days yet.... any symptoms I get I too just think "this is good it means things are happening" 😬I am lucky in that I work from home gor the majority of the time. This is my first pregnancy so no idea what to expect... just wait, see and ride it out I guess!! I have had some great help and info from this forum so far though :)

Ivebeenthinkingtoomuch · 12/05/2025 13:31

Im also feeling nauseous on and off!! I’m
a teacher so really have to hide it all 😂 absolutely shattered too today!!!

BettyBettyBoop · 12/05/2025 13:34

Ive not had any sickness yet (I think it might be a bit early from what ive read) but I can smell everything!! that and thirsty all the time, and had a little bit of hip discomfort today for the first time. It's my first time being pregnant so really unsure on what to expect 😅

So sorry to hear about your loss 😔 Hope this time it will all go well! 💞
That's good! Glad they sorted it easily, website for my dr's says I need bloods taken but maybe they will increase, worth a try! I can't call them tomorrow as I am in a conference all day but Tuesday I will definitely try.
From symptoms I've been having sore breasts but woke without soreness and it freaked me out because that was one of the things that happened when I had a miscarriage although soreness came back throughout the day. I also having cramps and they freak me out sometimes but I am trying to remember that it's normal. Maybe overheating but the reason I decided to test was because I keep peeing multiple times during the night and felt slightly constipated which is so unusual and was shocked to see a positive test! What about you?

Thank you so much, and same to you 💕

This is it, feels like there isn't a 'set' process that GPs follow and it's all a bit random! I'm going to push for bloods at about 4 weeks after I started my increase just to make sure.

I had the exact same feeling when I had cramps just after my BFP..knowing it's normal but also being concerned by them! Other than that, and now waking up for a wee in the night, I haven't had many other symptoms. I'm sure they will soon come 😅 I kinda want to start feeling a bit nauseous in a way just to know it's 'real'!!

I’m also 5 week today. Popular date!

I self referred to the midwife today. Need to ring the doctors to book my booking in appointment next.

I totally get the worrying and feeling like the excitement has been taken out of it. I think pregnancy after loss is just so different. My first pregnancy I was so naive and everything was fine. Now I’m constantly overthinking

I can totally relate. I wish I felt like I did with my first, I just didn’t really think about it going wrong. I knew it could, but before you experience it, you’re very much detached from the idea. Now that’s all I can think about. What if this, what if that… we have a scan this Wednesday which I don’t want to go to because I don’t want to hear bad news

Fullofconfusion · 12/05/2025 19:38

@elephantsneverforget19 everything crossed for your scan.

I called the doctors today to make my booking in appointment and was told that they don’t deal with that. It’s the midwife’s. But when I registered online it said to ring the doctors to book in. Very confused and quite stressed by the situation. If I don’t hear anything from the midwives by mid week I’m going to ring and see what’s supposed to happen

LaWI13 · 12/05/2025 20:18

I got a BFP on evening pee on the 6th May according to my app I should be due 12th Jan! Got some abdominal discomfort like I’ve done a million sit ups but other than that no other symptoms!

Hi, hope I can join, I had a positive Sunday and this morning, I’ll be about 4 weeks and due around 17th Jan. I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks last year and a chemical in Jan so am very cautious. I have lots of cramping, I don’t remember it being so sore so early on last time.
Id like to get bloods to check if everything’s ok but not sure where to go or what to ask for, im sure I won’t be able to get anything on the nhs. Does anyone know what’s worth getting? I’ve heard a bit about progesterone. X

SWlonrunmum · 13/05/2025 07:09

Also just got a positive after two late term loses, I'm being very cautious. Early scan in two weeks for me. DD 11th Jan.
Congratulations to all.

I've been prescribed progesterone and collecting today. Call the EPU at your hospital. There are two studies online about progesterone if you want more information. Look at Tommys & the miscarriage association websites.

Thanks, I have an appointment with the doctor Friday so I’ll ask.

Just had a call to sort my booking in appointment out so figured I might as well join rather than lurking

EDD is 7 Jan but my cycle is more often than not longer than the standard 28 days so imagine it’ll be pushed back at the 12 week scan. 3rd pregnancy (have a 6 year old and a 4 year old) and already under obstetric haematology - plus daily enoxaparin - due to previous blood clot history.

never had morning sickness before and really hoping to dodge it this time around too. Absolutely knackered all the time though.

Jadeypie · 13/05/2025 13:56

@Thegirlhasnamechanged congratulations 🎊

I hope morning sickness doesn't catch you haha I'm currently in the trenches with it 🤣

I'm still waiting to hear for my booking in appointment i referred over a week ago now. How many weeks are you? Xx

I completely agree with wanting to feel more symptoms! I am constantly worried about something being wrong if I "feel normal". I had a confirmation that in 3 weeks I will have midwife booking appointment this makes me excited but also worried and makes me think "what if it goes wrong and I need to cancel". Hard to stay positive after a loss. How are you doing?

newbie1989 · 13/05/2025 21:20

Jumping in on this thread, due middle Jan completely in shock from my positive test last week had gone for fertility testing & surgery 2 months ago to remove cysts & remove endometriosis tissue doctors had talked about referring me for ivf so this result still has me in shock 😮 having some cramps but no bleeding & nausea on & off did another test today & it’s showing 2-3wks

AlbatrossSociety · 14/05/2025 06:21

Hi all, not sure it's quite sunk in yet but got a BFP on Saturday morning so hoping to join you all! This will be my 2nd but my partners 1st, dd is nearly 3.

Really sorry to read about previous losses, it must make the whole process really tricky at times.

I flew 9 hrs immediately after I got a positive test so very hard to know what's jetlag/holiday with a toddler and what's pregnancy related tiredness! I am finding I feel quite icky at the idea of foods, but also really nauseous if I don't eat.

My EDD is 9th January and I am so pleased to hear someone say they don't suffer from Morning sickness lol. I really really REALLY do not like being sick so I am actively working to try and stave it off but anything I read about it says how hellish it seems to be from 6-7 weeks and I am almost at 6 weeks😬. I am pleased to read a little glimmer of hope... no matter how small... that I MAY be able to avoid the worst of it keeps everything crossed So far the nausea has been pretty mild for me and on and off but I am well aware I could get floored at any minute... I am stocked up on B6 and various ginger food/teas/snacks and trying to eat bland foods to keep it at bay. Still managing my Morning walks at the minute. All that said, after trying for over a year and having referral to fertility clinic I am very very grateful for this pregnancy so I will just take it as it comes

LoveaCaramelLatte · 14/05/2025 10:54

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some advice. I had my first positive test yesterday and it's looking stronger this morning. I'm 11 dpo but also on what I thought was day 4 of my period.

The 'period' started exactly when I expected, based on last month. But the first two days were very light and cramps have been very mild compared to normal. Bleeding was heavier yesterday similar to what has been normal recently but lighter than my periods before I went on the pill (15 years ago). Bleeding is lighter today cramps still mild.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I'm worried it could be a chemical or even ectopic but the line being stronger this morning has thrown me off slightly. Just wondering if there is any point in me telling the GP/ or referring to midwife at this point. Or if I should wait a few more days to check progression.

I'm going on holiday at the end of next week so just nervous that if I need any tests they need to be done before then.

Hello 😊

Something similar happened to me in January. I had a BFN and a later than usual period, although it was lighter than my normal. I had stopped testing once I got my period..and then a couple of weeks later I had some mid cycle spotting which is very unusual for me. Tested..and got a BFP. So not quite the same as yourself, but similar! I'll share my tests from the first week or so, they were dark and stayed dark for a little while.

I immediately booked a private scan, nothing showed up. I also spoke to my GP who referred me to the EPU. They told me to test in two weeks time and to call again if still positive. I had bleeding and positive tests for over 3 weeks and eventually EPU did a scan (nothing) and took my bloods (around 13 I think), so super low.

I would suggest calling your GP to get a referral to the EPU, it is unlikely they will see you and just advise to wait and see pretty much. And to go to A&E if you get more severe cramps or bleeding. It is good to have a record of the referral though just in case.

I do hope it's not the same as my situation (could be implantation bleeding) and hopefully this helps a little. It is such a confusing time, especially when you're not sure either way what's happening 💕

I feel the same way about the early scan I've booked for 1st June, so know exactly how you feel! As of yesterday I started to feel a little bit nauseous, especially if I'm hungry! And my boobs have started to hurt, ouch! I'm actually enjoying feeling more symptoms (for now!!!). How is it all going for you?

Thank you for sharing, that's really useful to know and very helpful to see the pictures.

I'm sorry that happened to you. I hope your current pregnancy goes much better.

I'll ring the GP later and see what they say.

I thought this was likely a chemical immediately but didn't know if the short luteal phase impacts that as I thought I felt implantation the day before the bleeding started. Trying not to get my hopes up. But at least it seems like I can get pregnant so that's good to know and makes me more hopefully for the future!
