Hello!

I'm 44 and have just found out I'm 4 weeks pregnant.

It's all a bit meh at the moment as I've been here before, multiple losses and all over 40. I'm putting it down to the quality of my old lady eggs!

Anyway, I'm back on that rollercoaster. I clearly love the stress of it all!

If anyone else is on the same rollercoaster or even in the same theme park, pop in and say hi ☺️

@Amuseaboosh 27th Sept, I was supposed to be working today, but needed to catch up on some training and had some time owing, so took that instead and at home catching up now.

@SnakebitesandSambucas thank you, such a relief.

it’s a positive start

Amuseaboosh · 17/03/2025 16:04

Due date is 19 September, baby measuring exactly as expected.
NT is 1.9mm - being 44, I was so ready for this to be a lot higher. We can breathe a little now ❤️

Scan couldn't have gone better, it's a pleasure having my little posting space here 😊

Now waiting to see the Consultant.

Hey everyone, I was all excited with the sun, now the heating is on again!

I'm 14 weeks today. On my way for my weekly scan - same thoughts kick in every time, I try so hard to not think this way, no heartbeat. This will improve when I feel kicks, I'm hoping. 😊

Hope everyone else is well and bumping along nicely ❤️

@Amuseaboosh
My screening coordinator colleague just called me with my screening results.

Lower risk for all, if it was age alone I’d be 1:53, but perfect NT and a near perfect Papp-A at 0.96.

1:5000 for edwards and Patau’s.
1:230 for Downs.
which I’m ok with

SnakebitesandSambucas · 21/03/2025 17:18

Great news @Amuseaboosh . That scan anxiety is very real. I get it even if I can feel the baby moving! I've had a traumatic few days. Me and baby are still here. But I gotta admit my head is spinning. Looking at next to me cribs atm

MrsH26 · 21/03/2025 18:31

Hope all ok @SnakebitesandSambucas thinking of you

SnakebitesandSambucas · 21/03/2025 19:27

@MrsH26 thanks a lot. I won't go into too much detail. But it was a close call. So glad you got great results! Got my booking date soon I can't wait. I know I will miss being pregnant but right now I'm just bloody terrified!

MrsH26 · 21/03/2025 20:37

@SnakebitesandSambucas oh bless you, sounds like a difficult time for you. Everything crossed for a beautiful scan for you 🤍🤍

Hey, how's things? I hope you're both doing ok. It's such a scary time and things can change very quickly. I hope you're looking after yourself ❤️

@Amuseaboosh nausea is now more intermittent than constant, there’s been a few rough shifts at work but I think I’m turning the corner with the exhaustion now too. I managed to stay awake until 10pm once this week 😂😂

im just as relieved about the Papp-A tbh! Lowers the risk a little for PET and growth restriction too. Previous PET and although DD was 31st centile, she certainly looked the typical pre-eclampsia growth restricted babe.

how was your scan? Did it settle your anxiety? My next one isn’t until 16/40, but that’s just a uterine artery Doppler.

Hi everyone, can I tentatively join?! 44 in 2 days and have a natural frozen embryo transfer scheduled for 2 weeks time 🥹 have a day 11 scan booked in for next week to check lining etc. so apprehensive. 2 losses in 2022, one due to confirmed T21 and other issues. Frozen embryo is from when I was 33 so we are hopeful.

Any advice on foods, exercise, lifestyle at this point in time would be great thank you xx

Welcome 😊

I have zero tips on health and wellness, I'm currently queen of all things carbs! Genuinely, you'll be fine. Depending on sickness (mine has been extreme!) and levels of exhaustion, you'll do what you need to get through. Then first 6 weeks at least all I did was try to stay as still as possible, gag and throw up followed by sleep! At 15 weeks, those symptoms have settled but the food aversion has remained 😁

I'm wishing you all the luck and positivity in the world. Please keep posting, we're here ❤️

Currently on the local selling what's app group looking at baby stuff. Lying horizontal hoping my meds stay down! Retail therapy ha ha 😂 but on the cheap. Looking at all my cloth nappies and sorting out donor milk in case I can't express.

SnakebitesandSambucas · 29/03/2025 13:05

I could always feed if baby latched but could never pump!

mamajuelz · 29/03/2025 13:45

Hi everyone, I’m 39 due my second child in mid September. I had my first scan and all looks well thankfully. The combined screening results came back as less than 1 in 5000 for all three trisomy’s. Age alone is 1 in 137. Would you still get an NIPT done with these low risk results for an individual risk of <1 in 5000 just simply because of age?

MrsH26 · 09/04/2025 19:30

What an utterly dreadful week!
took poorly at work and ended up being admitted with sepsis and 48hrs of IV Antibiotics.
I can’t even hang the laundry in the line without it exhausting me.
Little bean seems to have tolerated me being so poorly though 🤞🏻🤞🏻

SnakebitesandSambucas · 09/04/2025 19:52

Oh no @MrsH26 sod the washing. Get your bum on the sofa! I've had sepsis but luckily not while pregnant. Rest xx

TheGreenCrab · 11/04/2025 16:37

Hi! Can I join this group please - I’m 42 and 16 weeks pregnant with surprise baby number 4. There will be quite an age gap but their siblings are very excited! I’m nervously excited! I always wanted one more but gave up on that dream years ago! I’m just worried about my age and what might go wrong.

MrsH26 · 11/04/2025 16:39

@TheGreenCrab
Welcome! You’ll have a very similar due date to me! I’m 16wks tomorrow.
There will be a 19yr age gap for me! 🙈

TheGreenCrab · 11/04/2025 18:51

@MrsH26
Hope you are feeling a little better today
