Hi everyone, just found out I'm pregnant today at 9dpo, I wanted to make a thread for people to join who will be due in September 2025!

No nausea here other than occasionally in the morning or if I haven’t eaten for a while. However I did discover an unfortunate consequence of pregnancy - I have trouble breathing through my nose and finally went to the doctors to get it sorted, turns out I need some minor sinus surgery but can’t have it because I’m pregnant. And it’s only likely to get worse so here I am waking up several times in the night because I can’t breathe through my nose and together with pregnancy fatigue it’s leaving me exhausted! Only 7 months to go…

Next milestones are NIPT and a scan on Tuesday at 10+5, then 12 week scan on the 20th. Looking forward to getting through the latter because we can then start telling people. I could really do with telling work as soon as possible as there’s been a couple of things that mean me going on may leave in September will be relevant from a resourcing perspective but I really don’t want to tell before 12 weeks.

FMc208 · 08/02/2025 08:01

Feeling a bit paranoid this morning. After my scan where I measured 5 days behind even though I’m sure on my dates, all my nausea and sickness has gone. I know symptoms come and go but I just feel different. Last night I really fancied chocolate which is the one thing I’ve been off since I found out I was pregnant.

Could be something or nothing but my anxiety levels are rising a bit.

Anon1363847291 · 08/02/2025 08:19

@thismotherhoodthing so nice! I ended up awake until 1am after all such a cruel combo of exhaustion and insomnia NOT FUN!
@SassySugarplum sorry to hear that. I’ve also had a long journey to this point so totally get the emotions, anxiety is high! I just keep focusing on every day being a win (time is dragging though!)

MyGardenDaisies · 08/02/2025 08:42

@AMMxx I can confirm the nasal congestion feeling goes away after you give birth. I had the same with my first and have now too. It sucks!

Melusina123 · 08/02/2025 09:05

Just over ten weeks now and the nausea is getting worse despite the lovely drugs. Probably going to book scan/NIPT for Friday, and then if that all looks OK I'll breathe a bit of a sigh of relief. But as usual struggling to stay optimistic, feeling so worn out by it all. Just want this one to be OK and to get to take them home but it still feels like a distant/impossible prospect.

@FMc208 I can see why you're worried. Try to keep hope, the odds are really in your favour and tri 1 symptoms are weird and unpredictable.

Do you have another scan scheduled? If not, EPAU usually won't scan without bleeding/cramping but they will take your word for it about any symptoms you're experiencing...

@KittyFantastica sorry to hear the bad news but as you say at least they're being proactive and there's a plan to get you as far along as possible. And NICU care is so advanced and amazing these days.

@AMMxx @MyGardenDaisies I had such bad nasal congestion with my LO, particularly in the 3rd tri, it was dreadful! I'm a bit stuffed up ATM but hard to tell whether that's pregnancy related or due to the constant mild colds I catch from my toddler...

Me!
How are you getting on?

@OrchardBlack congratulations! How’s it going? I’m ok thank you, just periodic waves of tiredness and nausea and sore boobs x

FMc208 · 08/02/2025 10:09

@Melusina123 I’m going to book another scan for around 9.5/10 weeks but I don’t know if I can hold out that long :(

I know symptoms come and go. But everything combined is making me a bit worried. :(

LottyXO · 08/02/2025 10:11

Hi, I’m 7wks + 3 today and my boobs don’t feel as sore so now I’m worrying. Did anyone else find this? I’m not sure if this symptom continues or can come and go…?

Fluffydino21 · 08/02/2025 11:29

Got my first scan later today. Think I’m 8 + 1. Feeling pretty scared!

Also for anyone whose symptoms have decreased. Mine seemed to go around the 7 week point for a few days and then the nausea came back!

AMMxx · 08/02/2025 13:16

@MyGardenDaisies @Melusina123 i basically have an obstruction on the right side that needs operating as it won’t get better on its own and so in order to breathe I need the left side to stay clear. Sounds like that’s not going to happen if pregnancy causes congestion anyway! 😩 at least it’s practice for sleepless nights?!

Re: symptoms going away, mine went at around 7 weeks as well and then came back. It’s awful and you immediately think the worst but please be assured it’s normal!

Chellooo · 08/02/2025 13:52

Hi Ladies, hoping to join in! Got my bfp in Dec, so am just around the 10 week mark.
Have a little 14 month old running around so pregnancy this time is verrry different lol but thankful sickness is starting to ease!
Terrifying thought of having 2 under 2 but know it'll be magical, but all hints and tips on how to manage it welcome 😂

thismotherhoodthing · 08/02/2025 15:55

I've managed to catch Covid so am now feeling even worse than I did. My 3YO is keeping me going but I am counting down the hours until bed every night.

My symptoms went away briefly around 7 weeks but came back within a day or two.

I'm on the fence about NIPT - I didn't do it last time but I'm 4 years older now and wondering if I should

Melusina123 · 08/02/2025 16:15

@thismotherhoodthing because of my age the baseline odds of T21 are apparently 1 in 112 (I'll be 39 by September) so I just want the NIPT to pre-empt a high-risk result because of my age, or to have the answer sooner if it's bad news. But I felt no need to do it last time (37 when bb was born!) and also felt really stressed and averse to having another scan, so I get the argument against. The range of NIPT options is also really overwhelming!

Sorry to hear about the COVID! Sounds grim.😞

Strawb28 · 08/02/2025 20:03

@FMc208 I'm so sorry to hear you are anxious! I am in the same position. Went for a scan when I should of been 6 weeks and was only measuring 5+2 little bub had a heartbeat and was told not to worry but have worried every day since. Going to go back next Sunday to get another one to see what's happening. It's horrible isn't it 😢

Ncl31 · 08/02/2025 21:05

Sorry to hear you ladies are anxious @FMc208 @Strawb28
ive been super anxious too.
how many weeks are you both now?

Strawb28 · 08/02/2025 21:34

@Ncl31 so I have myself at 6+4/5 and scan would have me at 6 weeks!! How are you getting on? How far are you x

MyGardenDaisies · 09/02/2025 09:26

Hello! 8+3 today, and morning nausea has picked up in the last few days, and bloating.

Time seems to be flying!

We have started to discuss names. Last time it took 5 months to come to an agreement 😄

FMc208 · 09/02/2025 10:02

@Strawb28 I understand the worry! I had a bit of nausea this morning so trying not to read too much into it. I had literally no symptoms at all during the first trimester with my DD so this is all new to me!

@Ncl31 I am 7+5 today even though the scan measured me 5 days behind. I’m hoping I’ll just catch up because I’m pretty sure on my dates. How many weeks are you?

Im trying to join the WhatsApp and keep getting an error message!

thismotherhoodthing · 09/02/2025 10:23

@Melusina123 that's interesting! I will be 37 this time around (36 currently) and am really on the fence about it. Mainly due to the cost and feeling overwhelmed by all the options! Our scan isn't until 13weeks so I'm not sure if it will be too late to book the NIPT after that if the result is high risk...

Melusina123 · 09/02/2025 13:31

@thismotherhoodthing oh yeah, it's so exxy! Honestly if you're on the fence I'd skip it. 🤷‍♀️ I think they can do the NIPT after @nicolenorris 13 wks? Or they might want to go straight to a CVS/amnio, depending on the trust.

@Strawb28 I do think they can be so dismissive when dates don't match up, I guess they say don't worry because ultimately worrying won't change anything, but I have felt quite invalidated in the past by sonographers being like, "it's probably fine, don't worry" when I know all too well it might not be fine. But the odds really are on your side, especially once you see a heartbeat. :)

Strawb28 · 09/02/2025 13:39

@Melusina123 thank you so much! Yes I agree it felt very much like it is what it is. I wish I could tell my brain that lol. One more week to wait and see 🤞🤞

We have also started discussing names - DS didn’t have a name until the day after he was born! Hoping to have one picked out a bit earlier this time 🤣

Also; I find it so funny how I am 8w+4 today so slightly ahead of you, but we came from the same TTC thread and I ovulated a week later than you, so you are ahead! Just funny how the body works!

I am 8+2 today, I’ve always had a couple of early scans and thankfully for my anxiety I’ve measured 1 day behind on one and then 1 day ahead on the other. But there are plenty of people who measure upto 1 week out and then catch up.

the WhatsApp group has been set to private now so you won’t be able to use the link.
if you PM your number I’ll be able to add you

MyGardenDaisies · 10/02/2025 07:37

@Lou98x haha I didn’t realise! That’s funny! my dates changed from private scan too, based on NHS I should be 9+3.

Feeling extremely tired this week and nausea doesn’t always go with food. Headaches and bleeding gums too. At least acne is not as horrible the last few days.
