Had my midwife appointment today and it was so lovely, I do love how much midwife’s just love you , call you honey and sweetie etc 😆🥰

Update from me! I’m 9+5 today, I had my booking appointment at 9w on the dot, and I’ve had my scan through for bloody 13+5!!!!! Way over the 12 week mark which is frustrating.

My nausea that had previously stopped me doing anything the last couple of weeks, has finally started to ease off and I’m able to eat a lot more, I only seem to get nauseous now when I’m hungry or in the evenings, which I can seem to manage.

Other than that, my bloat is horrific and I look pregnant even as soon as I wake up in the mornings 😂

Does anyone feel like they're starting to show a little bit? This is my second pregnancy to get this far and I feel like my abs are giving up already!

Edited

Yea I feel huge! 🤣 definitely showing earlier than last time (currently 10+3). A lot of bloat going on and some weight gain I think from Christmas + not moving as much + all the carbs. But defo feel a bump forming.

I've had so many ligament pains this time around as well which feel like stretching pains around my uterus if I move suddenly .

Do you see the same midwife more than once? In our trust, you're lucky if you ever get the same one twice. They hardly even look at you before your urine is dipped and blood pressure done and you're out the door.

It's astounding how different care can be across trusts. Are you in a city or more rural?

hi everyone! I’m just over 10 weeks and looking into NIPT tests - looks like there are a few out there doing different stuff, how are people choosing which to get (if you’re going for it)? Thanks!

I booked this one: https://www.peek-a-baby.co.uk/veracity/

they also do a more comprehensive one but I figured this one is enough as it seems to test for all of the more common ones. I also thought if the NHS screening throws up issues then I will have another blood test through them but at least I will get answers sooner doing it privately.

Veracity | Non-Invasive Prenatal Tests (NIPT) | Peek A Baby

Veracity is a non-invasive NIPT test for pregnant women to check for genetic conditions affecting their baby pre-birth. Find out more or book online today.

I feel terrible this morning - my little girl started nursery at the beginning of the year, and today marks 6 weeks of continuous colds 🙁 And then I've got the pregnancy sickness and exhaustion on top of that. Starting to feel like I'm never going to feel healthy again!

Lss2024 · 05/02/2025 08:50

Hi everyone I hadn’t posted on this as had a scare in EPU last week with pains,my HCG wasn’t rising and they couldn’t see anything on the scan.

Had a private scan last night saw a tiny little bean with a heartbeat exactly 6 weeks so back in the running now! 🤍 is there a Facebook/whatsapp group? Xx

MrsH26 · 05/02/2025 14:32

@KittyFantastica With my first baby I had the same midwife through the whole thing, she was lovely too.

I am in a big city.

This time round I will have 3 midwives likely as the first 2 will eventually go back to hospital.

MyGardenDaisies · 06/02/2025 07:54

8 weeks today! Hoping to get the NHS scan letter soon, can’t wait!

the pregnancy acne is making me think I’m for sure having a girl, there’s no glow just acne 😀

OrchardBlack · 06/02/2025 09:05

Requested to join the WhatsApp!

Have had such bad sickness I was in hospital yesterday on a drip 😫 Feeling better now and had a scan which showed little beans heartbeat and looking all good. Here's hoping 🙏

chicke09 · 06/02/2025 18:11

Had my booking appointment today so feels more real! Not got my dating scan until mid March though.

FMc208 · 06/02/2025 18:21

Had my scan today and we saw a very strong heartbeat! However, I’m pretty sure I’m 7+2 as was tracking ovulation but I’m measuring 5 days behind. I know it’s common to measure behind, and the sonography kept reassuring me that everything was fine but I’m a worrier and there’s this little niggle because I am so sure of my dates.

can anyone reassure me please?!

Melusina123 · 06/02/2025 20:48

@FMc208 there are so so many stories on the forums here where women were measuring small at an early scan and it was completely fine. Apparently babies grow in bursts at this gestation, plus the measurements are so tiny that really small differences in where they place the callipers change the estimated days a lot. Of course there's no way to know what's going on but seeing a heartbeat after 6wks is such a good sign. ❤️ Fingers crossed everything is fine!

MyGardenDaisies · 06/02/2025 21:46

@FMc208 I was measuring 6+3 when was 7+2 based on LMP, and 6+6 since conception.

Now I’m 8 weeks :)

When's your booking appointment? Usually that's when they book in the scan?

MyGardenDaisies · 07/02/2025 11:55

@Wisher88 Ive had my booking appointment and my midwife requested the appointment to the hospital. The hospital will send the letter with the scan invitation. 🙂

KittyFantastica · 07/02/2025 14:45

Had my booking in appointment on Tuesday, but no word about 12 week scan yet. In my trust, you tend to get a letter a week or two after your bloods form arrives, so they inform FMU when you self refer.

I'm classed as super high risk this time, so currently referred to the pre-term birth clinic consultant and midwife, fetal medicine consultant, and antenatal team so most of my appointments will happen at hospital rather than community.

At my early scan on Monday, they measured my cervix for a baseline due to the 2nd trimester loss, and found my cervix is only 11mm, so this pregnancy has 0% of going full term. We will be lucky if we make it to 3rd trimester.

At the moment, they're trying to see how early they can get the screening done, and try to book me in for as close to 12 weeks as possible. Then, it will be a case of a cerclage, progesterone and just trying to get as far as possible.

Not the follow up to the loss of our baby boy that we'd hoped for. They are, however, being proactive for us this time. It's all we can ask for now.

thismotherhoodthing · 07/02/2025 15:24

@KittyFantastica that must be so difficult for you. As you say, at least they are watching you closely this time . Will keep everything crossed for you

thismotherhoodthing · 07/02/2025 15:26

I am 10+6 today and feeling unbelievably ill. I feel so much worse than my last pregnancy, and I struggled then. I'm pretty good with pain/illness on the whole but I've been so sick and I just have no energy anymore. Last time I felt better around 13 weeks so hoping it's not much longer. I need that placenta to take over !

Anon1363847291 · 07/02/2025 18:48

I’m 10+6 today too @thismotherhoodthing and also feeling rough! Currently trying to stay awake so I don’t fall asleep too early but never felt exhaustion like it! Feel better x

Aw I'm sorry you feel awful too. I think you get to this point and energy levels get so low don't they. Fingers crossed it gets better for both of us. So nice to meet someone with the same due date!

SassySugarplum · 07/02/2025 22:18

Hi everyone, I’m new to mumsnet and the group.

Im due on the 15th of September with first baby. I’m 36 and it’s been a long journey of IUI to get here. Doing this alone and feeling very emotional this week. Also very tired with constant nausea all day which I don’t think is helping either.
Anyone else?
