Oooooo exciting @Frenchtoastie least you don’t have to wait too long after Xmas for your scan !! Will tomorrow be your first scan? What will you be tomorrow? Good luck!!! And I just had a wee before I left the house and had a couple of sips of water in the car but didn’t pee again and my bladder was fine. They can always do internal if not. X

Yes first scan tomorrow!! I will be 9+4!

yeah I’ve had THOUSANDS of internal scans (IVF Queen over here) so every scan at the clinic is internal there. And no they don’t go in far and they lube It up 😂 I always call it dildocam! It’s honestly fine. You won’t notice it. X

Thank you darling. And yes it is. Second pregnancy - unfortunately we lost our first round of IVF to a missed miscarriage at 7 weeks. Still VERY wary. Hoping the NIPT results and 12 week scan hopefully being okay will alleviate some of that 🫣 is this your first? X

I had a scan at 6 weeks at EPU. Then a private one at 8 weeks where I measured 7+ 3... has me a bit worried. However, I couldn't keep water down that day & my scan wasn't too clear.

We have told our parents as I was struggling to hide how ill I've felt.

currently feel like I have the flu / I'm very unwell. Worried if it could have any impact and my scans so long away 😓

@LifesABeachx we've told our parents — told them after the IVF viability scan at 7 weeks and told my 2 best friends, and hubs has told his two best mates. Mainly for support as I’m struggling and both my girlfriends have had babies (both IVF too). Telling siblings on Christmas Day providing next Fridays 12 week scan is okay and the NIPT is okay. We will also tell them the gender then too. Hopefully!!! So nervous about the results.

I think it’s totally normal to measure +/- 5 days as there is a real margin of error when it’s so small and as you say, if you had a really poor image then it’s going to be even more difficult. Have you decided to have another scan before your 12 week one or just waiting it out?

oh god bless you!! I don’t think it does harm I think it’s online you end up in hospital with it that it’s a concern. Can you get the flu jab? I’m gonna have mine next week after my scan while I’m at the hospital.

I have my gallbladder scan today (wish it was baby scan haha) and I need to fast for 5 hours before it.

I feel sick and like death and currently forcing a bagel down me before the fasting starts 🤢

@CadoAvo oh god not ideal when you're on the constant pendulum swing of nausea to starving! Good luck and defo ask to do a cheeky baby scan while you're there 😉

Hey everyone, I'm absolutely useless at mumsnet... my first scan is next Friday at 7:40am it's also my little boys 5th birthday so hoping it all goes well as I don't want to be sad on his birthday! The nausea has been absolutely debilitating, I've got meds but they don't help and I'm loathed to pay for another prescription. I'm also in the process of selling and buying a house and transferring to another workplace (relocating 2 hours away), plus with my other 4 children I just feel like I'm barely keeping my head above water at the moment! Nhs dates have me as Edd of 30/6 but my dates are more 15/7

@Joanna0x keep your receipts from your prescriptions I was told you can be reimbursed when you get a pregnancy certificate!!

yes my first too, all very exciting but so worrying but everyone keeps saying the worry never stops so trying to get used to it 🥲x

Thanks hun. It's next Friday at 11:45am so another week away yet. But get my blood results hopefully before then for the chromosomes and gender!

@Frenchtoastie It said 5-7 working days, and we had it Wednesday night, so I imagine Thursday/Friday? They said it should be before my scan so fingers crossed!

Ohhhh hopefully the excitement masks the nerves. Is your partner going with you? I saw quite a lot at 8+3 and it was twitching and flinching, which was cool! Send a pic after.

Ah ha yeah I'm secretly loving it though as i'm like YES SOMETHING IS GOING ON! when I have a day I don't feel sick i'm wishing myself to feel sick 😂Apparently it starts easing around 12 weeks, so maybe that's why I've had it less the past few days. Saying that, Monday and Tuesday were horrendous!!

@Frenchtoastie I've had 5 scans at 6-8 weeks (different pregnancies) and never needed an internal, hopefully you will be ok. Good luck! I have flu too, it's so so grim. I've been properly ill since Sunday. I think it's mainly fever that is the risk of flu so taking paracetamol to manage that and trying very hard to remind myself of the time I had awful food poisoning in pregnancy and awful COVID in (different) pregnancy and they were both absolutely fine. It just takes so much longer to get better when your immune system is on the floor! Hope you feel better soon x

Just out my gallbladder scan and the woman scanning me let me have a look at baby. Measuring 10+4 now so a couple days of ahead and heart beating away 🥰🥰

No idea how my gallbladder looks though 😂 she will send a report to my GP 😅

Still no word on my 12 week scan and whenever I ring the number is engaged. Seeing my parents tomorrow so will probably tell them then as I wont be seeing them after tomorrow until the new year and I'm assuming I'll be showing. I'd have preferred to be telling them once we know everything is okay but what can you do.

my bleeding/spotting is still on. Since December 2nd.
I have had 2 scans since, in both there was a baby with heartbeat and it had grown in the second scan as expected.
yesterday I contacted EPU as it seemed to bleed more, they booked me in for a scan on Monday. I also have a private scan on Friday next wk and the 12wk scan is on 06/01.

the midwife over the phone reassured me it could not be anything to do with the baby, the bleeding. It still makes me anxious as I didn’t have anything like that in my first pregnancy, + plus, as this is an IVF pregnancy, I am taking progesterone too.

I guess I must not overthink and just wait until Monday..

I don't have any personal experience with progesterone but I'm sure I've read it can make you bleed, could it be that that is causing the bleeding? Fingers crossed all is well at your next scan 🤞🏼
