TMI POST

Bit of tmi but over the past few days I've been experiencing a lot of discomfort in my bladder, feeling like I need to pee really badly when I've just been and I've got white thick discharge, I'm 11 weeks 4 days pregnant. Has anyone ever experienced this or anything like it ? As it's very very uncomfortable and irritating.

narwhalsarereal · 04/01/2025 13:09

@Julilie93 mines my wisdom tooth, it's not fully through and the gum around it has swollen causing an infection, can't remember the name but apparently it's very common in pregnancy.
It's so much better now, on the last day of antibiotics but now I've got a cold, can't breathe through my nose.
It's like one thing after another 🤦🏼‍♀️

Ah yes that's exactly what happened to me. I think it's pericoronitis? I had it a couple of times before but not that bad and was fine in 3-4 days with corsodyl. I have some swollen gum still covering half of the tooth, so can't really chew anything (especially as I have the matching wisdom tooth at the top as well). I only have 3 antibiotics left to take and it still hurts just as much as when I got it on Tuesday...
Do you accidentally clench your jaw and bite the gum in your sleep? It's been happening every time I start falling asleep 😭

I would maybe get checked for a UTI. They're more common in pregnancy. When I had one about 2 months ago, it felt like I constantly had to urinate and was very uncomfortable!

SlimGin · 05/01/2025 08:20

Hi everyone 👋 we had our 12 week scan yesterday which placed us at 12+6, meaning I'm 13 weeks today!
Nausea has gone now and I have a little bump which to my eye is REALLY obvious but won't be long until I can tell everyone, so I can stop hiding.
I can't believe I'm pretty much a third of the way there!
Hope everyone's scans have gone well ❤️

LifesABeachx · 08/01/2025 12:38

Finally had my scan today & baby was very chilled, so I had to do some exercises so we could get some measurements.
Measuring 13+1 so that puts us at 15th of July for an estimated due date!

MummyAuts · 08/01/2025 19:02

Hello
I was posting on a different thread i think just come across this one!
Just had my scan and I'm 13weeks today due 16th July!
I have a 13yr old son already and 2 baby boys who were born sleeping in 2023 and 2024 so this is my 4th pregnancy to get to this point. I'm starting to show but blaming Christmas excess for now haha my mum knows aswell as my son and best friend but other than that keeping it yo ourselves for a other couple weeks
Hope you are all well x

SlimGin · 11/01/2025 09:38

Congrats @MummyAuts and @LifesABeachx on your scans ☺️
Hope everyone is well!
I'm trying to start to build up a positive birth mindset so have been listening to a couple of podcasts and bought some books from Vinted.. waiting for them to arrive. Already I feel a lot more confident about the birth though. I'm hoping to go to the birthing centre as there's higher likelihood of a water birth.

I'm quite confused about the MWs recommendation to stop taking folic acid after 12 weeks - has everyone else stopped with the folic acid now and just taking other vitamins (if so which ones?)

LifesABeachx · 11/01/2025 19:02

@SlimGin thank you! I'm in Scotland so we get multivitamins from the midwife with folic acid included. I took them all through my last pregnancy, will probably do the same this time. I think they include vitamin C and B too? We also get iron tablets to take 3 x a week to prevent anemia. I didn't get this until 29 weeks last time when I was really anaemic x

My trust recommends Pregnacare. I took it with my first baby and have taken it from the day I found out I was pregnant this time. It contains your recommended daily intake of folic acid too

@BroomAdventures Me too. I'm 14 weeks today and no sign of the sickness abating, struggling to eat normally and have lost a few lbs. I'm living off crackers and sweets still being sick every day. My midwife said its more likely to fade around 16 weeks so I am holding out for that. Never had this with my first, the nausea stopped at 10 weeks and was never sick

Yeah im on 3rd or 4th different anti sickness meds to try and help, im 13 weeks

Have you found anything helps? I’m coming up 16w and had to stop the car yesterday to be sick. Every time I think it’s easing off it comes back with a vengeance :(

FunkyPigeon35 · 14/01/2025 21:05

I had my 12 week scan yesterday, it all looked great with a very bouncy baby, due date July 28!❤️ I've decided to wait for the combined test result before announcing, the wait is killing me!! Thankfully not showing at all yet so that makes it easy to hide, my partner is convinced I am because my stomach is "round", I had to remind him that's my normal shape😅😅

PeachDeer · 15/01/2025 10:25

I’m jumping in here, my 12 week scan is Monday (I’ll be 13 weeks then). I’ve had a scan at 6, 8 and 10 weeks as I’ve had 4 miscarriages and the last one was a mmc at 9 weeks. I’m filled with the cold and a nasty barking cough so am feeling really anxious for the scan on Monday 🥺 I should be due at the end of July ❤️

ALBXO · 16/01/2025 13:46

Hi everyone. I’m 16+2, and slowly starting to feel better. I have more energy and the sickness is wearing off thankfully! However, with that - comes anxiety and fear something is wrong. I felt quite a lot of flutters the last few weeks and now they have calmed down too although don’t know if it’s just because I’m busier now so not noticing them as much. Just wondering if anyone else is feeling this way? X x

MrsS11 · 16/01/2025 20:41

@ALBXO it's so common at this point, you're constantly waiting to feel consistent movement or notice your bump has grown and it's so stressful. In some areas the midwife does a Doppler check at 16weeks but it's so common to not be able to find it that early that many have stopped.

I finally had my scan today, 13+4 which puts me at the 20th July. My poor husband had a heart attack during the half hour it took the sonographer to be able to find the NT measurements! Then we had a pretty unhelpful appointment with the consultant, I've mostly managed to avoid them during my other 4 pregnancies. We were promised lots of reassurance scans after my last loss and noone seems to have read the memo 🤦 So I think I need to contact my bereavement midwife. But, so glad to see baby ok today!

laalaaleelee · 16/01/2025 21:32

@BroomAdventures, ondansatron has kerbed my sickness but not my nausea 🥴🤢

Namechangeforbabynames · 17/01/2025 12:35

Scanned today, 12+3. So excited!

PeachDeer · 20/01/2025 15:53

Just wanted to update to say that everything was great at my scan! 13 weeks and am due on 29 July ❤️

xRobin · 20/01/2025 19:07

I’m jumping in at 15 weeks today, hi everyone!
I’ve now had two private scans and two NHS ones and I’ve got a private gender scan on Sunday… I’m beyond excited!
This is my second baby, 4th pregnancy x

MummyAuts · 21/01/2025 16:44

Those suffering with sickness have you tired metaclopramide or xonvia I found those 2 in combination have really helped me and I was in hospital on a drip at 9weeks sickness was so severe.
So pleased everyone's scans are looking good 👍
Mrss11 definitely contact bereavement midwife I've got another scan at 16weeks (next Wednesday) for reassurance as well as referral to pre term birth clinic if they aren't honouring the promises chase them you deserve as much reassurance as possible
Crazy that were in the second trimester and we have only 1 week left of January eep! X

narwhalsarereal · 21/01/2025 18:05

17 weeks and 5 days. Found out on Saturday that baby is a girl.

LifesABeachx · 22/01/2025 19:02

@narwhalsarereal how lovely for you, baby girl. Congrats!

is anyone else going for a private gender scan or waiting until 20 weeks?

I waited with my first but I really would like to know this time. I've also been told I've got low pap-a this time so would like another scan for reassurance!

I’m going for my private gender scan on Sunday ☺️ I can’t wait!
I was so patient with my first!

How far along are you?
What does low pap-a mean? x
