Hi guys.. Just saw the old thread is full so thought I'd make a new one :)

@sel2223 my trust do elective sections on Wednesdays and Fridays only. The consultant said it's common for a lot of trust to only do them 2 days a week so if it's the same as yours I suppose it depends on the days they do them? I opted for the Wednesday just because it was 2 days sooner 😂

Oh that's interesting, I have no idea if it's only certain days, didn't even think of that

@Muffin101 that does sound very strange, do you have badger notes where you are or paper notes even? Is there a growth chart in there from your scan?
It could be the consultant has misread something (which isn't great).

I've never seen a consultant yet, they've all been telephone appointments

Yea, it’s all on an app, so something similar to badger I think. I personally believe that the consultant has just made a mistake, but honestly it’s not the first cock up and I’m just feeling a bit unsettled and pissed off about it all really.
As for the feeling lumpy and slow thing, yes!! I didn’t feel like this at any point last time but my god trying to get out of bed or off the sofa right now is a trial 😂
In my experience, they aim for between 39 and 40 weeks for an elective, but that may well vary between trusts/hospirals.

Hey guys..
This thread went quiet 🤫.
Hows everyone doing? Our little boy arrived on 20/2. i can't believe how quick time is going as he's coming up to 1 month old this week 😯

@Zuzu2020 congratulations! You're slightly ahead of us by 5 days. Hope you're settled into a (kind of) routine. It's funny isn't it- these first few weeks have flown by in a blink but it also feels like forever ago we were bringing him home from the hospital! 🩵

Muffin101 · 17/03/2025 13:47

Congratulations @Zuzu2020 & @Onthedouble123 🩵🩵
I had a little girl a week ago today, almost to the minute! Lovely to have one of each now 🩵🩷 C-section was fine albeit I lost a lot of blood and went into difficulties in recovery. We came home after one night but unfortunately had to be readmitted as baby girl had a severe tongue tie (god knows how they missed that!) and so wasn’t latching or really feeding at all, and so the tie had to be cut. We are now home again and she’s now feeding from the breast, just with shields, so that feels like a massive achievement!
It just flies by so quickly, I’d sort of forgotten what a blur of sleeplessness nights and feed-nappy-burp-sleep cycles the first weeks are!

veggiebuns · 17/03/2025 16:53

Congrats everyone on your little ones! I'm still patiently waiting for my girly to make her appearance! Not due until 28/03 so she's still got some cooking time. Had a couple growth scans recently, and she's a chunky girl "supposedly" so would prefer her to arrive sooner rather than later!

Have been having fairly frequent waves of back ache and tightening/light cramps so hoping the beginning stages are slowly happening! But trying to not get my hopes up as I know first babies are often late!

sel2223 · 17/03/2025 17:07

Hi Everyone and massive congratulations to those who have had their little miracles already!

I'm 38+3, ELCS scheduled for 24/3 so a week today - i'm so over pregnancy though and kind of hoping she comes earlier!

anonny55 · 18/03/2025 17:13

Hi all. I had my baby boy via elective section on 26th Feb at 39+3 as he was measuring huge on all my scans. He was 9lb6 born but already over 11lb and has 5oz milk every 2hrs atm! He’s 3 weeks old tomorrow and doesn’t look like my newborn anymore😂😅good luck to all awaiting your baby’s and congratulations to those who have had there’s already! Xx

Oh how lovely, congratulations! My son was 9lb8oz and I can very much relate to that feeling of ‘not a newborn anymore!’ within a matter of weeks. Darling chunky babies 🥰 DD is a much more average 8lb1oz and feels absolutely tiny compared to how I remember DS. How are you finding your C-section recovery?

MrsTS · 18/03/2025 18:03

Congrats to all that have had their babies so far ❤️ I am 40+4 and was feeling deflated but baby will just come when they come now!

2 failed sweeps (not dilated or only 0.5) so trying everything else to bring on labour! 😂

Lulub94 · 18/03/2025 20:49

Congratulations to those who have had their babies! My son was born this morning at 40+1, induction was booked for 40 weeks due to having low Papp a although all through pregnancy has no signs of being affected by this and growth scans were all good and baby was measuring on the big side.
I was already having contractions when they started my induction and so all they had to do was break my waters. Baby was born just over 3 hours later weighing a whopping 10lbs 2ozs which I was not expecting at all! Staying in hospital tonight and then hopefully home in the morning. Baby has been feeding all afternoon on and off, hoping I’ll get some sleep soon 🤞

Oh how fantastic! Congratulations and well done for getting feeding off to such a good start. Enjoy your beautiful baby, and I hope you get a bit of a rest at some point tonight!

anonny55 · 18/03/2025 21:57

@Lulub94 congratulations!🤍
@Muffin101he has the biggest squishy cheeks! Someone in next the other day asked me how old he is as she thought her baby looked around same size as him. When I said he was only 2 weeks her face dropped and she asked how I pushed him out, her baby is 3 months and she thought they looked the same size😂😂 my section recovery has been difficult, but I’m feeling back to normal nearly. It was just awkward more than anything. Tying to ensure the area stays dry etc when I’m having pp sweats and have an overhang! Not being able to move as fast as I wanted and lifts thing was difficult. Pain was fine, procedure fine. The only time I’ve been in agonising pain was day 7 I had awful trapped wind in my ribs and shoulders - I honestly felt like I was on my death bed , the worst part of it all!! Peppermint tablets sorted that over night though. Congratulations too🥰

Hi ladies, I was wondering how everyone is getting on with their 3-4 month olds?! And if anyone is still around to share tips etc?

Has anyone got a travel cot yet / got any recommendations for one?

Also I was wondering what you use to occupy baby during the day? I have the Lovevery playmat and a couple of other bits but looking to have more things to mix it up especially as she’s getting much bigger!

x

Hey, my baby’s 4 and 1/2 months now and can nearly sit unaided. He has maracas he loves, he loves sensory lights so bought a disco light sort of thing. He has a bunny jelly cat comforter that he litterally sits pulling the ears for hours!! He’s got a Mickey Mouse that speaks which also entertains him x

m00ngirl · 08/07/2025 23:54

@anonny55how lovely, with his disco light and maracas, like a little party! ❤️ great ideas too, thanks 🙏
