Hi guys.. Just saw the old thread is full so thought I'd make a new one :)

I think it's time to resort to a pregnancy pillow, woke up early in agony from another stomach ligament flare up and couldn't get back to sleep

Has anyone got any suggestions? Preferably that don't cost the earth and aren't majorly bulky

Just been to the loo at work and I'm either majorly bloated, or we've definitely suddenly developed a clearer bump!

I had to have it in my first pregnancy (didn’t realize you weren’t supposed to eat before the urine tests at the midwife so would always have a delicious snack while I was waiting 🤦‍♀️ but since it was consistently high still had to do it!) The fasting was definitely the worst bit -
while I was waiting there were so many women sneaking snacks in when we were supposed to be fasting- I was just hungry and shooting daggers at them while they snuck food out of their handbag ….

That sounds utterly stupid, it could end up giving them higher blood sugars on top of the drink and giving them a diagnosis that they may not have got otherwise 🤦🏻‍♀️ it is bloody hard to be that hungry though!

I've been given the all clear!!! 🥳🥳🥳

Yay! Hopefully it wasn’t too awful .

I know ! It made no sense to me - so hungry but surely not worth it? And made it so much harder for everyone who was taking it sensibly …

I got a bbugme off Vinted because new they were pretty eye wateringly expensive. It’s huge but thankfully quite breathable and adjustable.

only probably is my little one seems to think it’s her squashy thing …

I’m in love with my bbhugme but they’re ridiculously expensive! Probably the best thing I’ve bought in years though. I’ve seen some on vinted/ eBay a bit cheaper.

Approaching 23 weeks but no major movements at all from baby, and that's with a posterior placenta too. Just the occasional bubbly gassy "flutter", but nothing even approaching a kick.

At what point do I worry?

MOLWI · 05/11/2024 11:40

Hi!
I’ve seen a few posts on here and on the fb group over the months saying they’d find it easier to keep up with a WhatsApp group!
Im going to bite the bullet and be the one to make it!

Hi all, hoping it's okay to join!
I'm 21 weeks and have been silently following along from the start. I had a MMC at 12 weeks at the start of the year so I've struggled to accept that this is actually happening despite the fact I'm still being sick at this point!

veggiebuns · 06/11/2024 17:10

Hey all! Hope we're all okay! Had my anomaly scan today. Baby girl was looking super well, I was so pleased, it feels a bit like passing a test every time!!

Only question, are we meant to get measurements or anything? She measured head, belly size and leg length. But she never said any measurements or weights. Just that they were when they should be. I do have an app so I'm wondering if those are meant to come through afterwards? Or do you not get measurements, I just always assumed you did!

I didn’t get specifically told them this time, or last time, but they’re detailed in the scan report. That was posted to me last time but it’s all on the app this time!

i got rough measurements on a chart but they said they don’t do centile lines etc until after 28 weeks . I definitely remember getting them with my first pregnancy so I was surprised this time that it wasn’t the case - especially because most people don’t have extra scans?

We had our gender reveal yesterday evening and were Team Boy! 🩵

Congrats! Also team blue here👶🏼

LV1987 · 07/11/2024 08:51

Thanks @anonny55 !

Been a little quiet as we had my step sons to stay for half term so it's been a busy week - and this week back at work even more so, I'm exhausted and back to needing daily naps! I thought that the second trimester is supposed to be the one where you're full of beans?!

We've now had our 20 week scan and baby boy looked fine, everything as it should be an estimated weight of 12oz. Back for a growth scan late December at 28 weeks because IVF.

We had to see the consultant after our scan, waited 2 hours after our appointment slot just for her to tell us that someone should have sent me to get thyroid bloods while we were waiting, and as they hadn't, she had nothing to discuss with us! I was starving and hangry by this point and stormed out, how embarrassing 🤦‍♀️

Thanks for the WhatsApp group @MOLWI@MOLWI

Just bumping this as it wasn't answered before. Any advice?

I think they say it could take anywhere up to 24 weeks to start feeling movements

Sorry I missed this! Honestly all pregnancies are so different I think it’s very hard to put a date to it, if that makes sense? Best person to talk to would be your midwife I’d say, for a bit of reassurance.

prizecow · 07/11/2024 20:20

I agree, speak to your midwife. But also agree all pregnancies are different, with my son I didn't feel a lot at all and even late on in pregnancy used to look forward to when he had hiccups so my partner could feel him move, whereas this baby girl is definitely a wriggler! Even then, it makes a difference which direction she's in and I can feel most when she's transverse across my stomach. Might be your baby is just happy facing your spine so you feel it less

PlumpHobbit · 11/11/2024 09:51

Probably TMI but anyone else suffering from an upset stomach when they go to the toilet?

Woke up in the night and had to sort it but not going anymore than usual bar the odd occasion?

I was at about 22 weeks. It's passed now after having bad toilet trips for the week! No idea why as I hadn't eaten anything different

Interesting as I'm 22 weeks too! Last week and this week have been grim, especially coupled with the indigestion which has returned

veggiebuns · 11/11/2024 19:36

I've just got back from a very intense 5 day work trip (was unfortunately unavoidable as I'd been planning the event long before I fell pregnant, and had to see it through). A lot of walking, a lot of late nights, and just overall a very stressful time.

So happy to be home now, but throughout the week I also developed what I'm fairly sure is PGP (Pelvic Girdle Pain), it had me in tears this afternoon as I tried to get myself off the sofa! Is there anything that can actually be done for it? It feels like the type of pain that you can't actually do anything about, other than try to ease it, I'm not due to see my midwife for another 4/5 weeks. But I'm busy wondering if that actually is something they'd be able to do and if it's worth giving them or my GP a call?

I'm usually the type that just muddles through so the idea of calling and them saying "yeah that's normal sorry" already gives me anxiety!

Coffeenotes · 11/11/2024 21:55

@veggiebuns ouch so sorry to hear of your PGP. I have similar and went to a pelvic health physio who has been great and given me some exercises to help (and a list of stuff to avoid doing which were really aggravating it). She also gave me a big stretchy tube to wear for some extra support. Good luck.

PS editing to say sadly loads of walking sets mine off, so I can now only do short stints of 20min. Miserable as used to love walking whenever possible and getting out and about!

IMBCRound2 · 12/11/2024 19:07

Anyone got any sneaky snack ideas? Soon as I go to eat anything , there’s the little patter of tiny feet asking what I’m eating! If she snacks too close to meals, she doesn’t eat and I’m prioritizing her eating a healthy meal over me eating enough - which isn’t great .

Failing to think of something I can quickly eat that’s fairly high calorie/protein - been sneaking the odd bit of dried fruit but it’s not enough ! ( I know they say you don’t need to eat more but I’m losing weight so I’m guessing I do - have a really high metabolism)

A big fat pelvic band - not one of the fancy, high street fashionable ones but an ugly industrial sized one.

it’s likely that you can self refer to maternity physio for advice and help. Maybe give your midwife a call, they are more likely to have access than the gp.

it’s a pain, rest does help tho
