Anyone feel the tiredness has ramped up more than ever? I've been getting home from work, going and lying down for a brief rest before dinner and all but falling asleep I can't keep my eyes open

I have actually and I’m really annoyed about it 😂 I’m 24 and a bit weeks now and was fully counting on feeling better for a while re tiredness but NOPE 😂 todays particularly bad as my son, normally a v good sleeper, was up and down like a bloody yoyo last night 😫

IMBCRound2 · 27/11/2024 18:46

I’ve been diagnosed with asthma with this pregnancy and I’m struggling to manage it - I feel like I’m wheeezing away. Any suggestions?

PlumpHobbit · 29/11/2024 13:24

Well the chicken aversion remains! Just had a cesar wrap for lunch. Had some from asda, were fine as the sauce masked the chicken. First one was fine bar gagging on a bony bit

2nd one had to give to DH halfway through as was on the point of being sick due to gagging at the chicken, which was all on one side of the wrap so not "masked".

I dont think the bone helped but it's so weird, used to eat chicken with most things!! Anyone else still got aversions? Yet I don't really have any cravings

I've had an aversion to chicken the whole way through! I tried to have a chicken Kiev the other day as I thought processed so might be okay. Absolutely not. 2 bites later made me feel sick all night I couldn't bare it!

Muffin101 · 29/11/2024 16:51

Weirdly I’m a chicken hater at the moment too 😂 can’t bear the thought of it at all. That and pizza, which I normally love. Strange!

Everyone is trying to convince me to go to the work party probably because I'm driving and not drinking so can be a taxi

Given I'm falling asleep after work, have stomach muscles aching and appetite is all over the place I really cannot be arsed 😂

It's over half an hour away too

What's everyone else doing for work parties?

PlumpHobbit · 30/11/2024 13:04

Please can I have an updated fb/WhatsApp link?

I'm not going to mine, and I'm thrilled with my decision!

I usually love a work party, and would be out late drinking, chatting away. But this year, the moment it was mentioned it instantly my felt like a chore, and something I didn't want to do.

So I simply decided not to, and I'm so proud I've stuck with my choice. Me and my partner work for the same company so he is going, some thought that would sway me to change my mind but it hasn't! Still as happy as ever at the prospect of sitting on the sofa, cosy, and having an early night!

Muffin101 · 30/11/2024 14:31

I don’t have the option of missing ours, I’m the boss 😂 happily so is DH, so I’m going to join the guys for the meal part then make my excuses and slink off home while they go out drinking for the night, leaving DH in charge!

I am out tonight tho, for a friends 30th, and I just don’t fancy it at all. It’s a shame as the theme is right up my street 🤠 and I’d normally be so keen but I’m just shattered. My son has been waking a bit in the night as he’s a bit unsettled (DH is working a lot at the moment and hasn’t seen ds for several days now, always has an effect!) so I’m extra tired and just cba.

IMBCRound2 · 30/11/2024 14:40

Was going to go because it was a day time thing - but then last minute they said no children so I have no childcare. Bit annoyed about it tbh - I’m reasonably certain they’ve changed because one of my colleague is constantly going on about her pregnancy/baby and was making things uncomfortable so they’ve tried to separate all things baby/child since people were finding it hard going. Everyone else with children has always been really considerate so we used to have a nice balance and weren’t always scrabbling for childcare .

Does anyone have any pattern yet? I'm 27 weeks today and nothing at all really. Some nights I can't sleep as he's so active all night, other nights I don't feel him at all and I'm awake panicking instead!

Lulub94 · 01/12/2024 08:10

I work in a small team so this year for our Christmas do we are doing wreath making followed by a Sunday lunch at a pub.
Have got another ‘do’ next week with my fitness group. It’s on a Friday so will probably be tired but should still be good. Will miss having a drink though, and I’m not a big drinker, but definitely missing alcohol more this time round!

2nd time this week I've been in for reduced movements. About 5 hrs I was laid down trying to feel and he wouldn't move no matter what I did. Typical I got to the hospital and he was moving like crazy. As it's been twice they want me to come back tomorrow for an emergency scan and monitoring again. I'm nervous now! He passed the monitoring but apparantly it's protocol to do this if you've been in twice😢

Just think it's always better to check and for them to do an extra check is going to put your mind at ease! Hopefully all goes ok x

They do this in my trust too.
With my last pregnancy I had gone in 3 times in total by 37 weeks and so they decided to book me in for an induction at 39 weeks baby decided to come a day before the date 🤣

@Zuzu2020 I feel awful keep going there but would never forgive myself if something happened. They don't have a scan until Wednesday so I went in today for monitoring and they were happy thank god! Hoping the scan is fine on Wednesday. So nervous

Same, I'm 26+3 now and after a period of increased movement has gone back to being the most chill baby of all time. If I feel him once a day it's only right in the evening and only when I'm lying down on my left side AND have just had something to eat or drink...AND I have a posterior placenta!

But at last midwife appointment they said everything was fine.

Husband says I should be ringing for reduced movement but my midwife said I didn't need to worry until 28 weeks?

Goldpanther · 02/12/2024 21:22

I'm 23 weeks and have a pattern developing, normally feel movement in the morning about 6am then again at 9:30pm, think I'm too busy in the day to pay attention to it.

I do get some really strong kicks already, so hoping baby doesn't get too much stronger in the third trimester!

anonny55 · 02/12/2024 21:56

@bouncingblob I also have a posteria placenta and they're very confused as to why I get periods of complete quietness from baby and always prompt me to come in if it happens. I think it's maybe as they say there's no pattern until 28 weeks so you don't need to worry until then but my hospital will see you for reduced movements from 20 weeks! I suppose it depends how you feel..if no food or drink or laying makes him move I go. It's the only way for baby to let me know something might be wrong and I need to advocate for him. 90% of the time you'll get there and they'll be happy and off you go home happy days!

I did a bit of research about the different placenta types and the whole "you feel more movement with posterior and less with anterior" is not backed up by any clinical studies. At best they have found that women with PPs feel movement 6-7 days earlier than an AP, with no other meaningful difference.

UncharteredWaters · 02/12/2024 23:15

I’m 28 weeks tomoro and have no pattern whatsoever. I couldn’t say what would be my cut off to go in pattern wise but I know if I lie on my back or side against the radiator squished up I can provoke movement.
it somewhat reassures me that I can use these manoeuvres.

anonny55 · 04/12/2024 13:42

Hey all. Had my scan at 27+3 today due to reduced movement and baby was fine blood flow fine etc. I had a GTT test at 8 weeks and 24 weeks and I've been asked to do one AGAIN. Baby's measuring 30 weeks and 3lb. Heads 1.5 weeks bigger than it should and belly and legs both 2.5 weeks bigger. I've been having regular private scans which I know people say you can't go by which is fine but his belly and legs have measured bigger since 16 weeks. The consultant was saying even if I don't have GD if the test is negative again (it probably will be but I'll do it again anyway just incase - 3 weeks ago my fasting and 2hr results were both 4.1 , at 8 weeks the results were around 4.5) so not much difference at all) She said he's on the 96th percentile and anything over 90 they'll keep an eye on as they'd have to make a plan for early delivery due to risk of getting stuck. I'm absolutely petrified now! I would absolutely refuse induction before 40 weeks as I've heard so many bad things but also so scared of a c section. I can just hope he evens out and stops growing at such a rapid rate but since he's been growing at this rate from 16 weeks I know it's highly unlikely. Both mine and DP parents think I'm stupid that id ever elect for a c section so also feeling the pressure of that!
