i think my little one has chickenpox 😕 right before Christmas! So far she’s not acting sick in the slightest but I’m really hoping it doesn’t get her down…. I’ve just had to tell her not to practice handsprings over her grandmother so she can’t be that poorly!

I think it shouldn’t be a problem with the pregnancy but has anyone had a chickenpoxy little one ?

How's everyone doing now we are in/almost in the third trimester?

I know I've started counting down the weeks! Still feeling pretty good and not too tired yet.

anonny55 · 02/01/2025 17:40

I'm 31+4 today and tbh getting quite sick of pregnancy. Sent multiple times to the hospital by my midwife as I have pre eclampsia symptoms and high bp. Get to the hospital bp goes down no protein in urine blood test fine but the headaches, visual disturbances, swollen and rib pain still remains so I'm clueless tbh. I just get sent home then next time I see midwife sent back again same procedure. I've had reduced movements a few times , baby measuring on 96th centile so 3 GTT test so far which are all negative but still have another next week. Today I've had sudden increase of movements so back in again waiting to be monitored but been in the waiting room for an hour so far as no beds available. Self employed and earning basically f all as I'm always in and out of hospital so unable to do a full days work properly. Thinking I'm going to have to start my maternity allowance now!

Anyways sorry for the negativity from my side just honestly fed up! Hope you are all doing better than me!

Feeling okay at 30 weeks! I’m tired especially as my three year old has been, understandably, bonkers over the festive period but generally feeling okay. Looking forward to meeting baby but also feeling a bit sad that the pregnancy is heading very quickly towards the end.

I understand your frustration, the high bp is the same for me, it's always really high on the automatic machine, and then lower if she measures manually, but I still get sent to the hospital to check just in case. Getting to the hospital, parking and then being seen is at least a few hours!

anonny55 · 02/01/2025 18:29

@Goldpanther Yep same here 1hr30 round trip to our closest hospital and the parking always a nightmare. Baby's passed monitoring but I've said I'm not happy with the sudden increase of movement as he's usually a very quiet baby. Not sure where we go from here! Mines the opposite sky high bp when done manually and 137/78 ish on automatic so nearly showing high on there too

bouncingblob · 03/01/2025 23:34

Hardest thing for me is the baby's movement not yet having established a regular pattern. Can be days of activity followed by days of just lying around doing very little. Midwifes have said this can be normal albeit frustrating as makes it a lot harder to identify when you need to raise the alarm bell.

anonny55 · 02/02/2025 13:06

Hey all long time no speak!

I'm officially having a baby this month!! Due 2nd March but elective sections booked for 26th Feb. I am SO nervous for it🫣

Onthedouble123 · 02/02/2025 13:11

@anonny55 same for me! Technically due March but will be a section that same week as yours.
How are you feeling in these late stages? I'm really struggling with back pain at the minute. He seems to have got himself settled on a nerve 😫 I really need to get properly ready! Keep make mental lists then not quite getting round to sorting things! Xx

anonny55 · 02/02/2025 13:16

@Onthedouble123 honestly I'm really struggling.

My bp has been slowly creeping up since 30w and is now just a few points under
'Normal' , started getting protein in urine and I have all the symptoms of pre eclampsia so I'm having 2 midwife appointments a week atm. The headaches are really getting me down now and the worry of developing it super soon, the doctor said it starts like this for many😖

I can't sleep as I'm up every hour for the toilet or to toss and turn as my hips are in agony. I feel HUGE. I'm so excited to get in the gym and shift some weight - never thought id be saying that!! I'm tired all the time and not much energy really but loads I want to do still before he comes cleaning and decluttering wise. None the less all of his clothes are washing, hospital bags both packed, got some milk nappies bottles etc and a next to me crib so I think were ready!

I'm so nervous for a section but SO ready to have this baby out now😩

Onthedouble123 · 02/02/2025 13:48

That sounds really tough with the potential creep towards pre-eclampsia 😫 plenty of rest where you can and good that they're monitoring you closely!
I have GD but thankfully blood pressure etc all been fine. Just got the worry that he seems to be a giant. Which is less of a concern if planned section anyway but still feel like it's not doing him any good 😞
His clothes are all sorted. Milk and bottles etc bought. Bags not packed but pretty much everything purchased I think. Cot needs building and the moses basket and bassinet part of the pram needs to come down from the loft. New mattress ordered the other day so that should come early next week 🤞🏻 xx

anonny55 · 02/02/2025 14:03

@Onthedouble123 I bet you are sooo done especially with GD!
My little chunk was estimated 6lb7 at his 34w scan..I have another on Tuesday😬 hence why I've just opted for a section. All of the unknowns was giving me so much anxiety🫠
You sound organised enough!🤞🏽xx

How did you get on with the GD? I’m waiting to hear the results from my three hour test. The wait is so hard!!

veggiebuns · 02/02/2025 18:30

Hey all! So excited for us all🩷

My little girly isn't due until the end of March so still a while to go but certainly starting to feel very ready for her!!

I've been following the 50ish percentile on my bump measurements so haven't been referred for any growth scans etc. however, I went for a private 4d scan and they did a growth scan portion, and she was measuring a couple weeks ahead, and 80-85 percentile. First baby, so I'm kind of lost on all the measurements etc. if bump is measuring right in the middle is it possible for baby to still be big in there? Not sure if I should just mention it next time I see my midwife? The only thing I've been nervous for this entire pregnancy is her being huge and birth being more difficult as a result!

Also had a rough few weeks with chronic tiredness but got some blood work back and have very low iron so hopefully my prescription is ready tomorrow and I can get started on those. Added trouble of a UTI this week and an awful delay getting those antibiotics (took 5 days!!!) so really feeling like I've been put through the ringer lately haha😂

Goldpanther · 02/02/2025 19:56

I'm also due towards the end of March.

Currently having weekly appointments with the midwife to measure my blood pressure. It's always been high and has stayed the same during my pregnancy, but my midwife is also worried about pre-eclampsia, I'm asymptomatic otherwise!

Starting weekly NCT classes with my DH in Feb so hoping they help pass the time! Starting to feel excited about baby arriving soon x

anonny55 · 02/02/2025 20:02

@veggiebuns I think we are all feeling very ready now! I'm sat here trying to massage my baby's feet out of my ribs..he's been kicking me in them all day and it's so painful🫣 if I massage my ribs he'll stop for a moment and punch what feels like my cervix instead so I can't win here🤣🤣
I'm kind of hoping to go into labour before my section date as 1 I want him out as soon as I'm 37 weeks (a week away today) 2 I may give a vaginal birth a try if I go into spontaneous labour before the section date!..😅 I'm really worried for the section recovery🫠

Maybe mention the private scan to your midwife but I'm sure they take no notice tbh.. I was given a growth scan as I had a few reduced movements then they realised he was 98th centile so I've had them every 2 weeks since to check on his growth and make an informed birth plan..his still on the 98th centile hence my choice of a section at 39+3

My braxton hicks are really picking up over the last week too. Ouch!

anonny55 · 02/02/2025 20:04

@Goldpanther having 2 midwife appointments per week for my blood pressure also because the consultants sure I will develop it due to high bp and protein slowly creeping up but as of now I don't have it..it comes with a lot of anxiety doesn't it!

Definitely adds to the anxiety!

I am glad they are monitoring it, but I think the worrying about developing pre eclampsia makes me stress and raise my blood pressure!!

I'm worried about being forced into having an induction or C-section!

HappyGoLucky31 · 02/02/2025 21:41

Hi ladies,

can’t believe we are all on a final countdown now 😱 finding out in summer feels like a world ago.

I knew I wanted an ELCS eons ago after a failed induction and emergency c-section with my son in 2020 but my hospital won’t give me a date until 2-3 days before. I’m planning to go quite far up until my due date to give me more mat pay the other side (teachers maternity isn’t good) but I’d like at least a week before the birth and it’s hard to plan when to tell work otherwise.

35 and 1 today and just starting to feel so tired/heavy. I dont remember this from being pregnant with DS but then again it was during Covid and I was living the life of luxury (relaxation) the whole pg 😂🙈

hope everyone else is good :)

bouncingblob · 02/02/2025 22:40

Anyone got any thoughts on ECVs?

35 weeks and the baby to the best of my knowledge has NEVER been head down at any appointment or any time I could tell, only ever breech or transverse. Really want them to turn as the ECV doesn't sound fun, nor does a C-section!

sel2223 · 03/02/2025 05:12

Sorry, wrong thread

Muffin101 · 03/02/2025 16:55

Hello all! Can’t believe we’re getting so close now, it’s terribly exciting! Five weeks today til my C-section, and we are alarmingly underprepared 🤣
Had the weirdest midwife appointment today. My bump is measuring big but normal and has been the whole time, which I’d expect as my son was 97th percentile when he was born so I was expecting another chunky baby, but when I had a growth scan a couple of weeks ago, the sonographer said all the measurements were around the middle average so, again, fine, but the consultant said 21st percentile?? Which sounds wrong to me and didn’t really correlate with the scan report either. So anyway, midwife measured again today and again bump is big but feels ‘normal’ to her anyway, so now I’ve to go for another scan this week as this counts as ‘accelerated growth’ 🙄 I have to admit I’ve very little faith in the consultants at the hospital, I’ve been asked ‘why are you here?’ and ‘I’m not sure why this appointment has been booked, are you?’ more times than I care to say… fills me with confidence.

sel2223 · 03/02/2025 17:31

@Muffin101 that does sound very strange, do you have badger notes where you are or paper notes even? Is there a growth chart in there from your scan?
It could be the consultant has misread something (which isn't great).

I've never seen a consultant yet, they've all been telephone appointments

sel2223 · 03/02/2025 17:34

Hi everyone,

32+3 now....... anyone else feel like they've just flicked a switch and suddenly got huge, heavy, achy and slow?

Had a growth scan today, all looking good. Apparently baby is about 4lbs4oz (although I take the weights with a pinch of salt as they were way off in my last pregnancy).

Telephone appointment with the consultant tomorrow where I should get the date for my ELCS - my due date is a Friday, do you think they'll try and do it then or carry it over to the next week?

anonny55 · 03/02/2025 18:49

@sel2223 my trust do elective sections on Wednesdays and Fridays only. The consultant said it's common for a lot of trust to only do them 2 days a week so if it's the same as yours I suppose it depends on the days they do them? I opted for the Wednesday just because it was 2 days sooner 😂
