I'm having a bit of a fret, woke up in the night and the bottom of my newly purchased arrived that day pregnancy pillow was soaked, could wring it out, and the mattress under it

However my hot water bottle was also in that vicinity and part of that was wet, so I'm 99% sure it just got trapped under my lardy leg and against the pillow and the pressure caused it to leak? However seen stories about amniotic fluid and am fretting However know if i call triage they will say to go to the hospital but I'm 99% sure it's just a hot water bottle leak!

Is there anything else I should look for that would then indicate yes it is more than the hot water bottle in which case I'll of course give them a ring?

That area wasn't soaked or anything, which surely if it was something like that it would be?

IMBCRound2 · 18/11/2024 12:54

My water bottle water always smells of rubber? Does it have a smell?

IIRC from my first pregnancy, it can be a leak rather than a gush so it could be worth checking .

I've been 'leaking' for a few days and finally went to triage as I was starting to get worried. Had a speculum and it seems my discharge has just turned to be watery and clear it's not amniotic fluid. I wasn't made to feel embarrassed for being a bit over worrying and they prompted me to come in again if I'm ever worried and want to be checked. It's just a speculum and swab and the test takes 5 mins I was in and out really. If in doubt id call just to double check!

PlumpHobbit · 18/11/2024 20:31

Did they do the test at the hospital or the doctor/midwife building @anonny55 ?

Nothing further after that discovery in the night bar the usual discharge in knickers. Pillow the memory foam is still wet - if the hot water bottle had been at the top of the bed and wasn't wet on the corner of the cover, I'd definitely pick up the phone to triage I'll see what happens tomorrow then may give them a call

I just decided to start panicking at 7.30pm at night Typical!! I called the antenatal assessment unit at my local hospital and they close at 8 so they urged me to call labour ward asap and get checked just incase so I followed their advice. My midwife office closes at 5pm here so after that you have no option really other than to call the hospital. From what I gather, if they think it's something that needed to be checked urgently, they'll send you to the local labour ward..if it can wait you can get an appointment with a midwife instead. This may vary by trust though so don't hold my word to it! If you call they can always just advise what's best. I hope it was just the hot water bottle! I left mine for a few days but the guilt was eating me up that my waters may be leaking and I didn't do anything about it in time so I wanted to triple check anyway🙂

PlumpHobbit · 22/11/2024 11:28

So mentioned the hot water bottle incident at the midwife appointment, because no one can be 100% sure it was the hot water bottle was sent packing to the hospital, where I now wait!

Was supposed to be at work, currently 2 hours lost so far

Better to be safe than sorry. Hope all is okay!

PlumpHobbit · 22/11/2024 20:29

Thanks for checking yep as suspected, the hot water bottle was the culprit! The swab thingy came back clear so got home in time to do an afternoon of work, hopefully won't have to make up the time

Given how much I struggled with the speculum I am not looking forward to all the checks they will be doing when the time comes....

I'm really struggling with my pregnancy pillow, can't seem to get the gap right at all (it's a memory foam one with 2 triangles either side that velcro together)

Really struggling with stomach muscles being super sore from being stretched each time I turn over it wakes me up. That and indigestion

At no point have I felt the radiant pregnant glow people talk about I've just felt even more troll like than ever!

The indigestion and tossing and turning all night is killing me off! I had a speculum and didn't find it too bad ..uncomfortable obviously😅 my mum said it depends on who did hers so hopefully a better experience for you next time! Glad all is okay xx

PlumpHobbit · 23/11/2024 16:58

So had a call from the midwife triage unit, apparently yesterday's swap has developed strep B cells, she said nothing to worry about now but when waters go/if I think they've gone I need to call them as you'll need Iv antibiotics.

She said not to Google, have looked on the NHS page which was quite balanced information but of course an added worry

Anyone else feel like movement has suddenly got way more noticeable? DH is now able to feel him at times

Muffin101 · 23/11/2024 19:30

Oh it’s good they’ve picked up on that @PlumpHobbit altho I know it’s tricky not to worry about these things! Well informed is well prepared, as they say!
Definitely to the movements! Baby has suddenly got riotous in there 😂 DH felt a kick for the first time a couple of days ago which was lovely. I think it was similar timing when he felt DS kick too, maybe, it all seems so long ago… even tho it was only 3/3.5 years!

RaineyNina · 23/11/2024 20:10

Hey, I'm 24 weeks now, nearly 25, and had a pretty smooth pregnancy up until this last week. Since about Monday or Tuesday I've felt exhausted every day. Not just tired like unwell exhausted, by the end of every day my whole body aches, I've felt shaky at times, and queasy. Every day has been worse than the one previous. It's been a pretty busy week with not a lot of rest, early starts for work, and late finishes for family commitments. I was off the week before but spent it doing a lot of decorating rather than resting so I'm thinking maybe I've just pushed myself too much? But currently sat in a hotel several hours away from home and sat and cried because of how utterly awful I feel. Please has anyone else felt like this at some point? Dreading going to work Monday morning still feeling like this

I felt like this last week at 25 weeks. Just utterly awful really in every way. Exhausted more than I've ever been, lethargic, headaches, dizzy spells etc. spoke to the midwife at the 25 week appointment and she asked me to book in a blood test to check my iron so I did but that's not until Tuesday as it was the closest one. In the meantime she suggested lots of water, lots of iron rich food. Well I'm feeling atleast 70% better than I did last week. So who knows what it is? I guess I'll know more at the bloods. My BP and urine sample was fine, had a swab for infection too that was fine! So perhaps try what I did and if it makes no difference contact midwife. She said it's a common time to start getting low iron

PlumpHobbit · 25/11/2024 09:45

Has everyone moved somewhere else?

IMBCRound2 · 25/11/2024 10:20

think lots of people went to FB and WhatsApp …. Wasn’t sure I wanted the constant notifications!

we’re doing well- little one has helpfully pointed out my belly is now bigger than father Christmas’ 😂

anonny55 · 25/11/2024 10:34

I'm on the fb group, I see some have moved over to WhatsApp now but MN and FB are enough for me..

Also doing well here! Spent 9hours travelling home yesterday from our last holiday abroad before little man joins us so just lazing around in bed🤣

Also wondering if anyone has any regular movement yet? Weeks 20-23 baby had a little routine of moving for a bit in the afternoon then loads in the evening. Weeks 23-26 he's decided to just move whenever he feels like and it can be hours with no movement some times which makes me stress!

veggiebuns · 25/11/2024 10:57

Could someone send the Facebook link again? I don't think I ever actually joined it last time!😊

I think they say movement should be regular by 28 weeks! But same- although I think it’s also getting a sort of weak pattern as well? My little one does her dance classes on a Saturday and the baby always dances along - especially during tap!

IMBCRound2 · 25/11/2024 12:47

That was supposed to say weekly but I can’t edit for some reason.

I’ve just tried and can’t for some reason?? Hopefully someone else can!

the idea of baby dancing along to tap is just so adorable @IMBCRound2 how lovely! I’m sure my little one moves when they hear their big brother and their dad, they’re clearly a bit bored of my voice already 😂

@anonny55 I have my midwife appointment on Thursday, I'll mention it then, did you get your bloods done today? After a horrid weekend I feel tired the last couple of days but not unwell with it

anonny55 · 26/11/2024 18:57

Yes had them done today!

There was 2 different things they was sending of to check , anemia and something else (I can't remember what the blood woman said now!) she said the results will be back tomorrow!
