Yep defo a line there @MOLWI !! Congratulations!!

GlitteringCat · 27/06/2024 18:55

Has anyone else done the digital tests that tell you the weeks since conception?

Had an awful nightmare which made me panic so did one to see if I was still 2 - 3. To my surprise it’s showing as 3+ but I know when I ovulated and am 4+5 so am now just confused!

PregnantNowScrewed · 27/06/2024 21:32

That’s so lovely you have supportive managers @PurpleBath and @Kingofthetyrantlizards - I’m in the exact opposite position - am going to have to conceal this as long as possible so they don’t sack me!

@GlitteringCat those tests measure in weeks since conception, so would expect to show 3+ once you are 5 weeks pregnant. If you are 4+5 it’s possible that you ovulated a day or so earlier than you thought or just have slightly higher levels of hcg (there is a massive range of normal). It’s nothing to worry about.

mamacitas7 · 28/06/2024 08:54

Hello 👋 can I join please? I tested positive yesterday and going by last period I'm around 4 weeks. I already have a lovely 2 year old boy and I'm super anxious this time round, worrying we're going to turn his life upside down. We were 'seeing what happened' but I wasn't obsessively tracking ovulation like I did first time round, in fact I said to my partner the other day how I was leaning over to being one and done as I love the life we have and my little boy has always been so easy then bam, positive test!

I will probably find it hard to keep up with this thread. For my October 2021 baby we had a Facebook group which was made from a thread like this which was great for support and much easier to keep up to date with everything. Does anyone fancy doing that?

NewMumSendHelp · 28/06/2024 09:45

@cococabanaas I absolutely feel you on this. DD will be turning 3 when I am due and I’m so worried about disruption to her life. I’m up for doing a Facebook thread maybe a little later on, I’m still really nervous about how early I have found out. I didn’t know anything about chemical pregnancies when I had my first and now I do I feel paranoid.

Think some symptoms are starting to kick in now, I am beyond dizzy this morning, really struggling at work even though I’m just sat still.

PregnantNowScrewed · 28/06/2024 11:01

My kids will be nearly 6 (nearly 7) and 4 when this one comes along and I think they will be seriously excited! Dc2 is starting preschool so I will have lots of time with the baby as well.

My age gap between DC1 and 2 is 2.5 years and it was very hard on dc1, but that’s because dc2 was born during lockdown and dc1 wasn’t in childcare, so I had both of them 100% of the time and couldn’t even see any family to give me or dc1 a break. It was really tough. If possible I’d recommend keeping at least some childcare for the older child so that you get some 1-1 time with the baby without guilt, and can then also carve out 1-1 time with the toddler. On the plus side, they adore each other now and play so well together. Having a sibling has been amazing for both of them.

Melusina123 · 28/06/2024 11:15

If all goes well there will be 22 months between 1 and 2 - not going to lie, am freaking out a bit about that. Before I got pregnant I was desperate to get underway because I'm 38 and I wanted to be done having kids well clear of 40.

(I think being pregnant over 40 is wonderful and the children of older mums are very lucky to have mothers with wisdom and life experience! But I am a very anxious person and I personally know I would struggle with the increased risks so wanted to try and avoid for my own mental health.)

But I didn't expect things to work out quite so quickly and now I'm pregnant I feel very much like this has come a bit too soon for us, our existing LO and our jobs. Just telling myself it'll all be ok and hoping that LO1 will get into the idea of being an older sibling quickly.

We will definitely keep LO1 in childcare, though! Can't imagine looking after 2 under 2 every day!! And I think it'll be a nice break for them where they can play around with toys and be away from baby life.

Zuzu2020 · 28/06/2024 11:51

I'm up for a Facebook thread but was thinking of leaving it a bit as its still very early on.
But once it's up it can be a hidden group so no-one on your friends list will know you've joined.

Kingofthetyrantlizards · 28/06/2024 13:41

Congratulations @cococabanaas and others! I'm definitely up for a hidden Facebook group. I'm also wondering how it will affect my 2yr old, she'll be 3.5 when baby arrives but I think she'll love being a big sister... she loves playing mum with her teddies so that's a good sign right? 😆

mamacitas7 · 28/06/2024 16:57

Thank you! My little boy will be the same age, I feel like it's a good age gap but time will tell!

I haven't really had any symptoms yet, apart from a really vivid dream/nightmare last night which is quite rare for me! I don't think I had any symptoms this early last time either, iirc I didn't have any until around 6 weeks.

m00ngirl · 28/06/2024 18:51

Does anyone else's boobs NOT particularly hurt?

I'm 4+5, tests looking good, a lot of back/hip aches and headaches, boobs are full but otherwise normal... not feeling sick or too tired either

(Obv worrying about everything)

Get very occasional pain but otherwise nothing. Other than tiredness, headache and some pains not really got symptoms yet.

Kingofthetyrantlizards · 28/06/2024 20:23

@m00ngirl this is my 3rd pregnancy and I've never had sore breasts, I've also never had morning sickness - just nausea without the actual sickness. Symptoms vary a please don't worry. It's also very early days, so there's still time... 😉

m00ngirl · 28/06/2024 20:58

@GlitteringCat @Kingofthetyrantlizards that's reassuring thank you ladies x

I'm going to drive myself mad for the next few weeks! 🤪

My boobs don't feel any different at all and they didn't throughout my first pregnancy either.

PregnantNowScrewed · 28/06/2024 21:40

I’ve never had sore boobs either. No symptoms at all for me atm other than feeling a bit tired. But from experience morning sickness (aka all day nausea that can only be cured with beige carbs) will hit during week 6.

Interestingly I was so much sicker with my daughter than with my son so will be using the sickness levels this time to guess the sex! (We won’t be finding out officially).

Sarah3330 · 28/06/2024 23:23

Also due 3rd/4th March 2025!!! I have EVERYTHING crossed all is well!! Booked myself for an early scan in 3 weeks! This is my third.

ButItHasCheese · 29/06/2024 11:18

My boobs definitely hurt now, and the tiredness feels much worse than last time (although not sure if that's from having a toddler too...)

Terrified of when the nausea hits - I had hyperemisis last time and it was awful

I had Hyperemesis with my last 2 pregnancies. My daughter being the worst 9 years ago. Im hoping I don’t again with this one. With my son it wasn’t as bad but I still struggled, being my first I didn’t know it was HG but it definitely was. My daughter I did need hospital visits for hydration and anti sickness especially around weeks 6 - 10.
may sickness levels may give me a inkling on gender this time.

Hello - nervously joining as just had a positive test this morning and find this phase where it's super early SO hard - will be nice to have people to chat to about it! Have a little boy who is 18 months old tomorrow and then looks like I'd be due with #2 around 9th March. Is anyone booking an early private scan - and if so, how early??

I have booked an early scan for 17th and I should be 7 weeks 2/1day. Also another 31st 9 weeks 2/3days. Then obviously il have my dating scan after that at 12/13weeks. IM expected around 3rd (LMP) or 4th March (conception).
I HATE Finding out this early too.

PregnantNowScrewed · 29/06/2024 17:04

@MrsWindrush I will book one at 6.5-7 weeks. I’ve had several losses at around the 6 week mark so always go for an early scan - if I see a heartbeat then it’s all good. I’m very sure of my dates but if you’re not sure, it’s better to wait until 7 weeks or later as you don’t want to be in a position where there’s no heartbeat but you’re not sure whether it’s just because it’s too early. If you can hold out until 8-9 weeks all the better - they are very baby shaped and active by then.

SMD16 · 29/06/2024 17:46

Hey, hoping I can join you all?

I'm 11 DPO, had a faint at 9DPO in the evening. Slightly darker yesterday and even darker today so hoping it's not another chemical (I've had 2 December and March).

This would be child number 2, my little girl is 17 months old today. Tentative due date based on ovulation would be 10th March!

Holding onto every ounce of hope 🤞🏻🤞🏻

m00ngirl · 29/06/2024 18:48

Congrats @SMD16 and @MrsWindrush !

I've booked a scan for 7 weeks as it's my first and id benefit from the peace of mind - can't quite hold out to 8 weeks! So so hoping I make it that far.

What are you guys doing for vitamins? I'm currently taking folate (apparently better than folic acid), a vitamin D mouth spray and vitamin c tabs to drink. I was going to get the pregnacare multivit but didn't like all the extra ingredients (talc?! Etc) - I'd like something as natural as possible..!

m00ngirl · 29/06/2024 18:49

I mean private scan at 7 weeks. I know 8 is better but can't wait. Then obv NHS one at 12 weeks hoping we get that far 🤞🤞🤞
